At Home in Bobcaygeon on Monday August 12th, 2002. Norm Avery formerly of Bowmanville was in his 87th year. He was the beloved husband of Joan Avery of Bobcaygeon. Dear father of Gloria and her husband Jack Brown of Hampton, Norma and her husband Andy Dumouchel of Newcastle, Valerie Clancy of Gores Landing, Wayne and his wife Leslie Avery of Bowmanville, DaleAvery of Cayman Islands, Debbie and her husband Joe Donadel of Newcastle and Ross predeceased. Remembered by his daughter in law Sharon Avery of Bobcaygeon. Lovingly remembered by his fifteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Dear brother of Clarence and his wife Merle Avery of Bowmanville, Mildred and her husband Robert Wilson of Oshawa and predeceased by Harold, Rene, Effie, Roy, Cyril, Howard, Lawrence. Norm served in the R.C.A.F. during W.W.#2 and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #178 Bowmanville. passed away peacefully on Monday August 12, 2002 at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Ann (Foster ) of Bowmanville, formerly of St. Thomas and Woodstock. Loving father of Ken and his wife Anne, Ruth Ann Michaud and her husband Ray and Donna Rex and her husband Mario Vasilkovs. Proud grandfather of Michael Michaud and his wife Jennifer, Lynn Mottershead and husband Jason, Christopher Michaud, Bryan Rex and Elizabeth Vasilkovs. Great grandfather of to Savannah Michaud. Survived by his sister Ruth Calwill of London, Ontario. Pre-deceased by his sister Dorothy and brothers Bill and Ted. "Muggs" proudly served 6 years in the Royal Canadian Navy in the North Atlantic during World War II as a signalman 1st Class. He would be happy to know that someone may see due to the generous gift of his eyes. A private family service entrusted to the W.C. Town Funeral Chapel Whitby, Ontario. Interment will take place at a later date in Woodstock, Ontario. The family would like to thank the many wonderful caregivers at the Bowmanville Hospital and Dr. Anthony Stone. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Lung Association, the Arthritis Society or the Canadian Cancer Society.

Peacefully at home on Monday August 12th, 2002. Allan, in his 64th year. Beloved son of the late William and Blanche Swinson. Life companion of Lorraine. Loving brother of Howard Swinson and his late wife Joyce, Lloyd Swinson and his wife Julie, Mildred Rout and her husband Alex, Gary Swinson and his wife Debbie, and the Late Dora Crowells and her husband Edward. WALKER, James Herbert (Jim) -

Of Pickering. It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of James Herbert Walker (April 23, 1948 - August 10, 2002), peacefully, with family by his side. Father of Mark and former husband of Mandy. Son of Myra and the late Herb Walker. Sister of Jody (Joyce) and brother-in-law of Norm. Uncle of Doug, Mike, Heather, and great-uncle of William. Born in Windsor and attended Bayview Heights Public School and Pickering High School. Jim had a lengthy career in recreation at the Ajax Community Centre from 1973-1983, progressing to the position of Facility Manager. Joined the Town of Pickering in 1983 as Facilities Superintendent of the Pickering Recreation Complex and served most recently as Supervisor of Fleet Operations and Special Projects. A prominent sports figure throughout his life from participant to official in baseball, football, and hockey. Bringing to the field of competition a level of fairness and sportsmanship, which made him a leader to other competitors and officials working with him. Over thirty years involvement with the OMHA as Official, Area Convenor, Instructor, Supervisor, and Area Coordinator of OMHA Development Programs. A Mason and Member of DORIC Lodge. Much appreciation for the comfort and care provided by the staff of Ajax and Pickering Health Centre. The family will receive friends at the McEachnie Funeral Home, 28 Old Kingston Road, Ajax, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral Service to be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2002 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's United Church (65 Kings Crescent, Ajax). Cremation to follow.
