LOWIN, James Roy "Jim" - Passed away, peacefully, at the Guelph General Hospital, on Saturday, December 1, 2001. Jim Lowin at the age of 72 years. Beloved husband of Doris (Ridley) Lowin. Loving father of James Courchain of Quebec, George Courchain and Elizabeth and her husband Bob Hannah, all of Guelph. Survived by sisters, Betty Howard (Norm) of Orangeville and Evelyn Chatten of Orillia. Also survived by brothers, Jack Lowin (Maxine) of Mount Forest, George Lowing (Anna Marie) of Limehouse and Bob Lowin (Shirley) of Victoria Harbour. Cherished grandfather of 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Cremation has taken place. GREGOR, Christina - Peacefully, at Wellington Terrace Nursing Home, Elora, on Monday, December 24, 2001. Christina (Fortalski) Gregor, in her 87th year was the beloved wife of the late John Gregor (1981). Loving mother of Ann and her husband George Israel of Guelph; loved grandmother of Kristine and her husband Harry Terpstra and Jim Israel, all of Guelph. Survived also by several nieces and nephews. Resting at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph where the family will receive friends tonight (Thursday) from 7-9 p.m. and on Friday, Dec. 28 from 11-1 p.m. Cremation will follow. A Memorial Service will be held in Campbell River, B.C. at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Gideon Bible Society would be appreciated by the family. BERRINGTON, Emma - Emma Berrington passed away, on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2001, at The Village of Riverside Glen, Guelph, in her 89th year. She was a dears sister to her late brothers and sisters Ethel Sweet, Annie Johnson, Alfred Berrington and Frederick Berrington. She was a dear aunt to Ted Sweet, Ted Johnson, Dave Johnson and Joyce Chittock and was also survived by her great nieces and nephews. Miss Berrington is resting at the Lounsbury Funeral Home, 1766 Franklin Blvd, Cambridge from 7-9 p.m. this evening (Monday) with vigil prayers being held at 8 p.m. The funeral mass will be held at St. Mary's of the Visitation Church on Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. with Interment at New Hope Cemetery. Those who wish may make a memorial donation to St. Joseph's Health Care Foundation.

Beloved wife of the late Kenneth Lloyd Miller (1987). Loving mother of David, Ken and his wife Gerri, John and his wife Kathy, Debbie Kelly and her husband Leo, Judy, Michelle Smith and her husband Nigel. Loved grandmother of 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. SCHNARR, Maurice (Beaver) - Passed away, unexpectedly, in Kitchener, on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001, in his 44th year. Beloved husband and best friend of Patty (nee Uniac). Their 20th year Anniversary was just celebrated on October 10, 2001. Devoted and loving dad to Alex (16) and Emily (12). Beloved son of Maurice and Muriel Schnarr of Goderich; beloved son-in-law of Joan and Jerry Uniac of Kitchener. Remembered lovingly by his sisters, Joanne Freer (Paul) of Brampton, Karen Uniac (Jeff) of Kitchener; Big brother to David Schnarr (Cindy) of Kitchener and Paul Schnarr (Ruth) of Kitchener who knew he was always there for them. Brother- in-law of James Uniac and Lori Lockhart of Fergus. He is also survived by his 95 year old grandmother, Margaret Schnarr of Goderich. Lovingly remembered by nieces and nephews, Katie, Kyle, Alana, Marisa, Joseph, Matthew, Kayla, Zachary, Nathan, Tyler, Brody, Lauren, Cameron and Hillary. Predeceased by maternal grandparents, Ken and Belle Wallace and paternal grandfather, Maurice J. Schnarr. He was a lifelong member of the Carmel Church and was also involved in Kitchener Minor Hockey. Beaver's family will receive friends at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener on Monday, Dec. 10 (today) from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service which will be held in the Ratz-Bechtel Chapel at 2:30 p.m., Rev. Reta will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Mae and William Croft, her sisters Shirley Croft and Margaret Duff. BRUNDRETT, Laura - Peacefully, on Friday, Dec. 7, 2001, at her residence, Nithview Home, New Hamburg, Laura Brundrett, formerly of Guelph. She was born in Guelph 90 years ago, a daughter of the late Samuel and Sarah (Rose) Preston. Laura was a member of the Guelph Wellington Seniors Association, a member of the Seniors Program at First United Church, Guelph. She enjoyed card playing, tatting, gardening and selling flowers as her hobbies. Beloved wife of Granville Brundrett, who predeceased her June 8, 1974. Loving mother of Ewart and his wife Gwynedd Brundrett of RR 2, Baden. Special grandma of Mark Brundrett and his wife Karen Clarke of Australia, Laurence Brundrett and his wife Theresa Gilhuly of Waterloo, Nadine Brundrett and her husband Michael Carter of St. Catharines. Also remembered by Robert and Elizabeth Hampson of Guelph. Laura was predeceased by her grandson, Kelvin Brundrett (July 27, 1991) and her brother, Samuel Preston. Beloved husband for 13 years of Donna Mae (Weltz) Marchesich. Dear father of Tony and his wife Tracy Marchesich of Guelph. Loving grandfather of Hannah and Abbey Marchesich. Survived by two brothers and two sisters and their families in Slovenia. Carlo will be missed by his first wife, Teresa Marchesich of Guelph and by many friends and relatives. Predeceased by his son, Robert Marchesich (1993); his grandson, Matthew Marchesich (1997); his brother and sister in Italy and by his mother and father in Slovenia. Benito Lovadina, in his 72nd year, was the beloved husband of Amabile (nee Tagliapietra) Lovadina. He was the dear father of Doris and John Lee and Denise and Edward Preto, all of Toronto and loving grandfather of Evyn and Ethan Lovadina-Preto. Benito is survived by one sister, Pierina Piai of Vittorio Veneto, Treviso, Italy; two brothers-in-law, Girolamo Tagliapietra and Giovanni Tagliapietra and three sisters-in-law, Emma Favaro, Sofia Reato and Margherita Dal Bello, all of Italy and a nephew, Luciano Favaro of Guelph. Benito is predeceased by his parents, Giuseppe and Amalia Tagliapietra.
