Beloved wife and devoted mother, will sadly missed by her husband Charles and daughter Christine (Goyne) & her husband Richard Hoogsteen. Survived by her sister Mary of South Wales and brother Christopher of London, England. Visitation will take place at The Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home on Thursday May 1st from 12 - 2 pm followed by a Funeral Service held at 2 pm. Interment Bowmanville Cemetery. Memorial Donations may be made to The Cancer Society or Bowmanville Community Care.

Loving Poppa of Kelly, Ryanne, Kristian, Jacob, Hailey, Summer, Savanna, and great-grandfather of Taylor. Sister of Nancy Chambers Balfour. Predeceased by his parents, Albert Platt and Reta Robertson. passed away on April 27, 2003. He leaves behind his loving wife Violet, his son John anddaughter-in-law Ina, and his extended family and many friends. He will be sadly missed and never forgotten by those people whose lives he has touched. BURTON, Charles James (Jim) -

passed away on Saturday, April 26th, 2003 in his 71st year. Survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Barbara; children Jim, Douglas, Stephen, Michael, Raymond (Jane), and Anne; grandchildren Jonathan and Bradley. Jim also leaves behind his sister Florence. Predeceased by sister Lillian. Jim was retired from Canada Post after 36 years of service. Friends will be received on Tuesday, April 29th, 2003 at The Simple Alternative Funeral Centre from 10 a.m. until 12 noon. A funeral service will follow in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.

McNAUGHT Lynda Joy -

Peacefully, after a brief illness, on Saturday, April 26, 2003, in her 53rd year. Beloved wife and best friend of Bob McNaught and the late Wayne Bagot. Will be sadly missed by her brother, John Hilderley and his wife Betty Lou of Vancouver, her sister, Julie Haldane and her husband Ian of London, Ontario and their families. Lovingly remembered by Bob's children Tracy McNaught and his wife Sue Carstairs of Ajax, John McNaught and his wife Dawn of Calgary, Marni Allen and her husband Brent of Chandler, Arizona, granddaughters Taryn, Nicolette, Keirsten and Ainsley Allen and her bulldog 'Archie'. NUGENT, James (Jim)

Peacefully at his home in Kirby, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, April 26, 2003, in his 66th year. Cherished husband for 27 years and best friend of Carol (nee Rolfe). Jim will be sadly missed by his children, Barbara of Kirby, Rodney and his wife Isabel of Kirby, and Richard of Sturgeon Falls, as well as his grandchildren Alison, Shawn, and Jessica, and many other family members and friends. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at the NEWCASTLE FUNERAL HOME, 386 Mill St. S. (just north of 401 at the lights) on Saturday, May 3, at 2:00 p.m., with visiting for one hour prior to the service.
