Suddenly, as the result of a fatal fall in Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands, on Friday, April 4th, 2003.Thelma (Ziegler) Schmitz of Oshawa was born on September 14th, 1926 in Elmira. Beloved wife of Joseph Schmitz of Oshawa. Loving mother of Susan Jane (and husband Terry) Walker of Whitby and Jay (and wife Cheryl) Schmitz of Edmonton. Also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Christopher and Alexandra Walker and her nephew Larry Holtze. Predeceased by her parents Andrew and Minnie May (Denman) Ziegler, her brother Robert Ziegler, her sisterBernice Holtze, her sister-in-law "Fannie" Ziegler, and her brother-in-law "Pic" Holtze. Thelma was a fifty year member of the Eastern Star, Kapuskasing, and a graduate nurse of St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener. A family Interment of the cremated remains was held on Wednesday, April 9th, 2003 in Elmira Union Cemetery. (Longtime member Canadian Corps and former member of Moose Lodge) It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Bryan at Lakeridge Health Corp. Oshawa on Thursday, April 3, 2003, at the age of 61, following a brave and courageous battle with cancer. Lovingly remembered by his wife Sharon (nee Cousins). Proud father of Brent (fiancee Lisa McLeish) of Brockville and Krista at home. Forever to be missed by his sister Carol Harding (husband Douglas Jermyn) and her children Jill Cohen and Paul Doherty. Bryan is now reunited with his parents, the late William and Robinette Harding. Bryan will be remembered and very much missed by extended family members and his many, many friends. Bryan spent his entire career in the trucking industry where he was highly respected by his peers. His love and knowledge of Nascar Racing were know among his friends and family. Nothing, however, compared to his love for his family home in Burnt River, where he and his family spent many happy times.
