Predeceased by her husband Ken, her daughter Janet, her mother Edith McDowell, and sister Helen Reynolds. She is sadly missed by her son Hugh and his wife Lise. Beloved father of Linda of Mississauga, and David and his wife Maureen of Riverview, New Brunswick. Fondly remembered by his granddaughters Jacqueline and Joanne McMaster. Suddenly on Tuesday, August 19, 2003. Bev Storie in her 71st year. Beloved daughter of the late Douglas & Sybil Storie. Sadly missed by her cousin Jan & her children Jody Hulcio & his wife Cathy & their children Laryssa & Katelyn, and Tod Hulcio & his children Michael & Samantha, and by her cousin Jack Germond & his wife Judy & their families. Bev will be lovingly remembered by her aunts, uncles, cousins and her many friends at Faith United Church. Bev graduated from East General Hospital Toronto in 1954 as a Registered Nurse. Bev worked several years at Oshawa General Hospital where she was Head Nurse from 1958 - 1970, when she retired. Bev was a member of the Pilots Club International and was on the Board of Directors of the VON. BOOS, Alois Ludwig (Alex)
Mr. Alois (Alex) Ludwig Boos, age 85 years, formerly of Oshawa, passed away peacefully with his family at his side in St. Joseph's Hospital on Saturday, August 16th, 2003. He was born in Eberbach, Germany on November 15th, 1917. Alex came to Canada first as a prisoner of war in camps at Nipigon and Northern Alberta and then immigrated here in 1953. He settled in Oshawa and operated a barbershop until October 1998. He is survived by his wife Ruth (Gladys), a brother Eugen in Germany and his stepchildren; Dolores (Rene) of Montreal, Diane of Thunder Bay and Stephen of Toronto. He was predeceased by his first wife Elizabeth in 1984. A private viewing was held at Jenkens Funeral Home, Thunder Bay, Ontario and cremation followed. A funeral mass was held at Corpus Christi Church, Red River Road, Thunder Bay on Tuesday, August 19th, 2003 at 10:00 AM followed by a reception in the parish hall and burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family wish to express gratitude to the Rehabilitation and Palliative Care units at St. Joseph's for their superb and loving care of Alex and the family. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Society, 310 - 180 Park Avenue, Thunder Bay, Ontario P7B 6J4 would be appreciated by the family.
