Loving grandmother of Justin and Philip. Sister of Edris and her husband John Norris of Oshawa and James Stewart of Whitby. Loved father of Michael and his wife Melanie Pringle. Much loved Grandpa of Zoe. Predeceased by his sister Iva. Fondly remembered by brother and sisters-in-law as well as many nieces and nephews. PARKINSON, John D.
passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 18, 2003, at the age of 80. Beloved husband of Betty and dear father of Lynn (Brian) Robertson. Caring grandfather of Kelly. John is survived by his sisters Betty Wilkins, Helen Fairley and brothers Herb (Shirley) and Art (Doris). John was involved for 40 plus years with the Barber Shop Society. Cremation. Peacefully after a lengthy illness at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, on Wednesday, December 17, 2003. David Coutts, dearly beloved husband of Joan Coutts nee Parks. Loving father of Charlene Touzel and her husband Wayne of Dundas, Stephen Coutts of Oshawa, Tracey Briggs and her husband Richard of Edmonton, Alberta, Alex Coutts of Blackstock and Heather Coutts of Oshawa. Fondly remembered by grandchildren Derek, Jeff and Jenna. Dear brother of Nancy Jeyes, Mary Doucette, Roberta Ross, Sharon Hanus, Hugh and Clyde Coutts and Elizabeth Flynn. Predeceased by sisters Isabella Bell and Eileen Coutts. Sadly missed by close friend Larry. Mr. Coutts was owner of C & C Hydraulics and was a former employee of the Oshawa Times and Lymbird Lumber Company. DOWNING, Jean Crawford
Jean Crawford Downing is at Peace. After three years of declining health, Jean finally relinquished the reigns and succumbed to death at Lakeridge Health - Whitby on Wednesday, December 17th, 2003 in her 84th year. She served as an economist in the Government of Tommy Douglas and after further studies at the University of British Columbia attained a Masters Degree in Community Planning. As a young woman she was a formidable badminton and tennis player and won many trophies. Later in life she traveled extensively and broadened her understanding of the wider world. She will be missed by scores of friends across the country - several of whom have kept in touch with her since school days in Brandon, Manitoba. Predeceased by her father Albert Bruce and her mother Bertha Annie Downing. Survived by brother Douglas in Fredericton, N.B., and nieces Ann and Joan in N.B. and N.S. and nephews Tommy in Montreal and Eric in the Soviet Union. A Memorial Service will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL SERVICE "Thornton Chapel" 847 King St. West (905-721-1234) on Saturday, January 10th at 11:00 A.M. Skylar Jade was born at Mount Sinai Hospital on Wednesday, December 17, 2003 at 12:47 a.m. Peacefully, she passed away in her Daddy's arms on December 17 at 2 a.m., surrounded by her family, her parents Amy Nadon and John Borg, her sister Jonelle, her brother Tyler, her grandparents Ray and Wendy Nadon and George and Loretta Borg, her great grandparents Colleen and David Robb, and her uncle Andrew Nadon. She will be missed by her many aunts, uncles and cousins. A private family service will be held at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME. Interment Thornton Cemetery. Retired T.T.C. employee 1981. After a lengthy illness on December 17, 2003, he will be dearly missed by his loving wife Ethel (nee Feeney), his children Mike (Barb), Chris (Barry), Julie (Sam), Rick (Sharon). Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Lea (Marvin), Luke, Sarah, Sam, Mackenzie, Andrew, Samantha, Tyler, and his great-grandson Anthony. Friends may visit W.C. TURNER, Albert A. (Lefty)
passed away peacefully at home December 17, 2003 in his 82nd year. Beloved father of Sharon (Phil) Nott & Lana (Roy) York. Granddad to Phil, Bill & Tina and great grandpa to Zachery, Lola and Jacob. Former husband of Helen. He was an avid sportsman and a member of the Oshawa Sports Hall of Fame. His love of fishing took him to Elliot Lake where he resided for the past 15 years. He was retired from General Motors after 40 years of service and enjoyed 23 years of retirement. He was a past president and member of the Honour Guard for the Oshawa Legion Branch 43, and a member of the Moose Lodge in Elliot Lake for the past 15 years. A memorial service will be held at the Oshawa Legion, Simcoe St. S. Oshawa on Sunday December 21, 2003 at 1:30p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. DELVE Alice Isabell (nee James)
Peacefully, at Lakeridge Health Corp. Bowmanville, with her nieces at her side, on Tuesday, December 16, 2003. Born on March 13, 1909 to Olive and Harry James. Raised in East Whitby on a farm east of Winfield Farms. Educated at Conlin Public School and Brooklin High School. Moved to Toronto as a young mother to support her son Bobby and herself. Employed by Union Carbide until her retirement. At retirement she moved to her home in Oshawa until poor health then moved to Westshore Retirement Villa Port Perry and then to ThorntonView Nursing Home. Alice is predeceased by her loving son Robert 'Bobby' Delve (1949), her parents Olive and Harry James, her brother George and his wife Mary, Norman and his wife Grace, John and her niece Shirley Floyd. Alice is survived by her sister-in-law Carolyn James, her nieces and nephews, Bruce James, Jesse James (William), Jim James, Carol Norris, Sally Richardson, Keith James, Linda Westlake, Tom James and Robert James, her 24 great-nieces and nephews and 23 great-great nieces and nephews.
