McILWAIN, Lloyd (Ted) Frederick
November 18, 1921 - December 8, 2003. Ted leaves us with memories of his warmth and wit. Devoted husband to his war bride of 60 years, Joan; Loving father to his sons and their wives, Don and Carol and Evert and Bev; proud papa of Nathan, his sidekick for 13 years and a special friend to James Fox. A WWII vet, Ted served his country overseas with The Hamilton Light Infantry. Ted's generosity continues even after his passing with his wish to give the gift of himself to scientific and medical learning. Thanks to the staff of Lakeridge Oshawa ICU, who provided care and comfort in Ted's last days with us. Thanks to Pat from Paramed for providing many years of special care which allowed Ted to continue to have quality of life at home. There will be a memorial service to celebrate Ted's life in the New Year.

(Veteran W.W. II RCAF, pilot 2nd TAC; 40 years with Crown Life Insurance Company) Peacefully, on December 7, 2003, in his 84th year. Devoted husband of the late Mary and the late Edna; beloved father of Bob (Wendy) of Port Perry, and Mary Jane (Eric Howell) of Calgary; loving grandfather of David Heath (Genevieve), Rob Heath (Amanda), Chris Heath, Jeff Howell and Gord Howell; and proud great-grandfather of William Heath. Wray was predeceased by his mother Ellen, his father Thomas, and his brothers Thomas and Arthur. Cremation has already taken place. There will be a private family service at a later date. Wray's family wishes to thank all of his wonderful care givers at Sunrise Assisted Living of Unionville, who filled his final days with dignity and love.

Suddenly on Saturday, December 6, 2003 at the age of 48. Beloved husband of Sandra Wilson Sherk. Loving father of David. Dear son of Kenneth and Margaret Sherk of Scarborough. Brother of Carol (Doug) Jones and Barbara Sherk. Brian worked for a number of years for Bayly Communications in Ajax. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. SMITH, Pamela Kathleen
Age 57, of Marysville, Ohio, formerly of Whitby, Ontario, Canada, died at her home December 6, 2003, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born June 25, 1946 to the late Ida Winifred Smith in Nottingham, England. After completing her schooling she immigrated to Canada at the age of 19. She previously worked at the Ontario Workers' Compensation Board as a Special Needs Adjudicator, where she managed the unique medical and life care needs of seriously injured workers. She was admitted to the ''Quarter Century Club'' there in 1991 and retired from the Board in 1997, after more than 30 years of exemplary service. She moved from Canada to Marysville with her husband in 1998. She will be lovingly remembered as a kind and caring wife and a friend to all. Pam enjoyed travel, skiing, knitting and sewing, and home decorating. She was especially accomplished and devoted to her beautiful English garden. Pam was a patron of the arts enjoying the theater and collecting the works of Trisha Romance and others, and of course amassing her Longaberger basket collection. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Marysville. Her husband, Dr. Robert Smith, currently of Marysville, Ohio, and a cousin, Peter Adams of Hucknall, England, survive her, along with numerous friends. A Celebration of Pam's life will be held Thursday, December 11, 2003, at 3:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Church-on-the-Hill in Pickering. Father Don Beatty will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Ontario Division, 1639 Yonge St., Toronto, Ontario M4T 2W6.
