Our beloved Ashley, daughter of Sandra and Tom Hodgins, was taken from us. Dearest sister of Rachel. Much loved granddaughter of Muriel and Al Hodgins, and Irene and the late Charles Bodmore. Peacefully, after a lengthy illness on Wednesday, November 12, 2003 at the Soldiers Memorial Hospital in Orillia, at age 80. Phyllis (nee Snache), beloved wife of the late Norman Wakeford. Predeceased by her parents Murdock and Margaret Snache, her sisters Helen Goose, Dorothy Edgar, Winona Snache and her niece Sylvia Le Saux. Survived by her nephew Fred Snache, her great niece Jeanne and her husband Fred Ball, her great great nephews Phillip Robidoux, David Robidoux, Charles Le Saux-Ball and her great great niece Samantha Ball. DOCHERTY, Lynda (nee Lee)
After a courageous battle with ovarian cancer, Lynda peacefully passed away on November 11, 2003 in her 50th year. Loving wife of Joseph and mother of Tara, Phyllis and Erin. She will be sadly missed by her brothers Randy (Jackie), Doug, John, Bryan and Brent, also her sister Sue (John) and mother Bernice. She will always be remembered by her granddaughters Amanda, Kristen, Jo-Anne, Morgan and grandfather Ben Braithwaite. The family will receive friends at the McEachnie Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2003. Longtime school and adult friend to Bob McEachern and Cecil Prouse. John worked for 25 years with the Durham Region Housing Authority and was active and helpful within his resident community. passed away peacefully at home on Monday, November 10, 2003. Beloved husband of Betty. Loving father of Diana and Leslie. Brother of Jack Kirkaldy and Mary Hogg. Jim retired from the Durham Board of Education 13 years ago. His tenure included time as the Principal of Cartwright Public School (Blackstock), Westmount Public School (Oshawa), Lord Elgin Public School (Ajax), and Fairport Beach Public School (Pickering). Jim also taught at Ajax High School, and Anson Park, George Peck, Ionview and Meadowvale Public Schools. He was Past President of RTO and served in 1979-80 as President of the Durham OPSMTF and Co-President of DETA. Jim was a member of the Tam Heather Venerables (curlers). Memorial Service in the Chapel of the McEachnie Funeral Home on Thursday, December 4, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. Should family and friends so desire, donations to the Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
