Dear father of Lorraine and her husband Barry Kelly of Newcastle, Larry and his wife Cathy of Minden, and Jeff and his wife Chris of Oshawa. Adored Grandpa of Tamara, David, Madison, Danielle, and Mark. Survived by his brother Wilfred of Vancouver, and predeceased by Stanley, Harry, Beatrice, Dolly, Percy, and Ernest. Eric was the greatest fan of the Maple Leafs there ever was. JOYCE Mabel Pamela (Permelia)
Mabel was born May 6, 1901 in Waterloo to John and Permelia 'Millie' Joyce. She died peacefully at ThorntonView Long Term Care in Oshawa on Sunday, January 18, 2004 in her 103rd year. She was predeceased by a sister, Greta and brothers, Norman, Harry, Edward and Robert. She is survived by a son, Jeremy who lives at The Bob Rumball Centre for the Deaf, Toronto. Mabel was a member of First Baptist Church, Oshawa, where she served as choir director, organist and soloist as well as being a member of the Mary Elliot Smith Mission Circle and the Kate McLaurin Mission Circle. She was a member of the Professional Women's Business Association, the Weavers and Spinners Guild and a life member of the Pioneer Button Club. She worked for Bathe and McLellan Building Materials Ltd. as a bookkeeper until her retirement. A complete funeral service will be held at FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, 812 Hortop Street, Oshawa at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2004. Visitation will be at the church prior to the service from 12 noon to 1:00p.m. Interment of her cremated remains will be held at Mount Lawn Cemetery, Whitby. Loving father of Bobbie and her husband Terry Finley of Oakwood, Laurel and her husband Bill Ptolemy of Blackstock, Dave Mackie of Mattawa, and Ginnie Mackie of Toronto. Loved grandfather of Wade, Ryan and his wife Laura, Lucas and great grandfather of Cally and Caden. Predeceased by his brother Herbert Mackie and his wife Kathleen. Relatives and friends will be received at the family farm in Blackstock on Sunday, January 25th from 1 - 5 p.m. to celebrate the life of Doug Mackie. After a courageous battle with cancer, on Saturday, January 17, 2004 at Uxbridge Cottage Hospital, in her 75th year. Jean, beloved wife of the late Harry Brown. Fondly remembered by her grandchildren Ronald, Tanya, Nicholas, Danielle, Clayton, Dallas, Tara, Dustin, Eric, Jake and Matthew. Survived by sisters Margaret, Eva, Shirley, Hilda and brothers William and Keith. Predeceased by Lloyd, Gordon, Norm and Florence. RINTOUL, Henry Fife (Harry)
Born in Ballachulish, Scotland 1913. W.W.II Veteran, H.M.S. Columbo. Former employee of the Robert Simpson Co. and teacher. After a brief illness, in his 91st year, it is with great sadness that the family announces the death of Harry on January 17th, 2004. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 50 years, Winnie, by just one month. Harry will be dearly missed by his devoted daughter Linda and son-in-law Brian Skinner, precious granddaughter Katie and dear friend Christine. ''Uncle Harry'' will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews, especially those in the Wolfe and McCrea families and by the Duncan, McKirdy and Jamieson families in Scotland. Thank you to the care-givers at Altamont for their kindness during his short stay and to Para Med staff for many years of love and care. Special thanks to the staff at Markham Stouffville Hospital for their extraordinary kindness, care and professionalism. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at MacEachnie Funeral Home, at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2004.
