Surrounded by her family, Mom died on Sunday, January 11, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Ajax and Pickering Health Centre. Mom was a surprisingly young ninety year old. She was contemporary in her thinking, read the paper daily, and engaged one and all in chat. Mom loved all young people, children and teenagers, but none more than her three granddaughters, Laura, Sarah and Andrea. She had a sparkle that radiated to all who knew her. She loved to have family, friends, and guests to our dinner table where she enjoyed hearing their latest adventures. Everyone was always welcome into Mom and Dad's house. Mom was predeceased by her adored brothers, Bill, Eddie and Jack. She will be dearly missed by her children, Paul of Lakefield, Ian (wife Nancy) of Calgary, and Penny (husband Wayne Purdon) of Pickering. Friends of the family are welcome to share their memories and thoughts at the funeral at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2004 in the chapel at the McEachnie Funeral Home. A reception will follow the service. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Campaign or to the charity of your choice. The family wishes to express their sincerest appreciation to the entire staff at Orchard Villa Retirement Home for their devoted love and care of Mom.
