Don enjoyed a varied 41-year career with General Motors in Canada and the U.S. He was a tireless volunteer worker and fundraiser for Oshawa General Hospital, Oshawa General Hospital Foundation and Parkwood Estate. Loving and dearly loved husband of Joan. Loving father of David (Carrie), Kathryn Eckert (Ralph), Robert (Bonnie) and Douglas. Granddad of Kevin, Kyla, Jason, Tiffany, Kenneth and Madeline. Predeceased by brother Albert and sister-in-law Marlene. Brother-in-law of Gary and Eleanor Mighton. Friends will be welcomed at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King St. E., Oshawa 905-433-4711. Daughter of the late Jesse & Maud Buck. Beloved wife of the late Thorne Spear. Dear mother of Dr. Allan Spear (Rosemary) and the late Patricia Rudy (Willis). Loving grandmother of Kelly Spear (Tom Balka), Heather Cirella (Joe), Tracy Spear (Larry Crooks), Robert Rudy (Kim), David Rudy and 7 great grandchildren. HILBERT, William
On February 7, 2004 passed away from a massive heart attack while on vacation with his wife Brenda in Cancun Mexico, in his 49th year. He is survived by his wife Brenda (nee Olinyk), and parents Jean and William, brothers Leslie and Peter, daughter Sarah and granddaughter Sophia. He was an employee of O.P.G. Darlington for 26 years. JUNKER, Eva Ida (nee Frieske)
Peacefully on Saturday, February 7th, 2004, in her 69th year. She passed in her loving husband's arms after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Eva came to Canada in 1956 from Germany looking to fulfill a dream. This is where she met the love of her life Rudi. They married in 1957, built a beautiful home together in Whitby where they raised their three children. Farming with Rudi was one of Eva's biggest passions, growing strawberries for more than 35 years, and keeping care of her beautiful floral gardens. But most of all Eva's love and pride was her family. She would do anything and everything for anyone before thinking of herself. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 46 years Rudi and her three children, son Michael and his wife Frances, daughters Angela and her husband Derek and Janet and her husband Sly. Her grandchildren Rachel, Jamie, Samantha, Kyle, Eric and Colin will miss Oma. She will also be missed by her sisters Lotte, Renate and Elfreide of Germany, and Paula in Vancouver, B.C., and her sisters-in-law Maria, Treni and Resi and brother-in-law Paul all of Trier, Germany. Doreen passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, February 6, 2004. Doreen was the loving wife for 49 years to Ron, both from London, England.
