McMULLEN, Frederick John
(49 year member of Peterborough Masonic Lodge 155) (retired from G.E. after 42 years, and consultant with G.E., Erie, Pennsylvania, for 10 years). At the Peterborough Regional Health Centre, on Tuesday, February 3, 2004, with his family at his side, at the age of 74. Fred, loving husband of Shirley (nee Allison) for 53 years. Dear father of Jeffrey (Sandra) of Mississauga, Kathryn (Dan Garvey) of Newcastle, Julie Anne (Lionel Lemire) of Calgary, Brenda (Bob Lazure) of Peterborough, and Stuart (Kathy) of Peterborough. Sadly missed by grandchildren Jason (deceased), Kristen, Bradley (Andi), Laura, Stacy, Kim, Lisa, Jennifer, Dawn, Tamara, and Stephen. Brother of Bernice (Keith Kidd) and the late William. Predeceased by his parents Harlen and Marjorie McMullen. Fred spent many happy times at his Kosh Lake Cottage, enjoyed golf, curled in the seniors church league, and skated with the seniors. RICKETTS, Kevin Douglas
Kevin left this loving world on Tuesday, February 3rd, 2004. He will forever be loved and cherished by his Mom and Dad, Margaret and Doug, as well as his brothers Christopher and Paul, and his sister Laura. Kevin's love will always be held dear by his Grandma and Papa, Helen and Serge LaFrance, and Oma and Opa, Theresa and John Leyzer. May Kevin's many aunts, uncles, cousins, classmates and friends each keep some special memory of a moment shared with Kevin. Kevin courageously sought to find happiness and joy in his life, although at times it was not easy for him. He was not alone in his struggle to deal with depression, seeking and accepting help, especially from his Mom and his family doctor, Charlene Lockner. We love you Kevin. We pray that you may now rest in peace. We are all richer in our lives for having had the blessing of seventeen years with you. It is with our deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Tuesday, February 3, 2004. Gladys was in her 72nd year and passed from pulmonary fibrosis. Beloved wife of Lavern for 50 years. Loving mother of Heather and her husband Lloyd O'Brien of Courtice, Cathy and her husband Don Beaulieu of Mississauga and Randy and his wife Debbie of Sault Ste. Marie. Cherished Grandma and "Mim" to Amanda and Taylor Stewart, Jordan O'Brien and Emily Beaulieu. Honoured step-grandma to Jason, Chris, Sam and Jessie Beaulieu and Joe and Angie McCaig. Dear sister of Barbara Denniston, Doreen Fulmore and Ernie Kerr. Predeceased by sister Velma Wilson and parents Archie and Florence Kerr. Gladys was a devoted wife and caregiver to Lavern. She will be forever missed as she spent her life loving and nurturing her family. Her kindness will live on in the hearts of her family and many friends. HALSALL John Reuben
(W.W. II Vet (L/Cpl.) 48th Highlanders Canada). Died with his family at his side on February 1, 2004, in his 90th year. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Marjorie in 1997 and grandson Edward Baxter in 2002. Cherished father of Dianne and Ken Duncan of Leamington, John and Viviane Halsall of Kirkland Lake, Mary-Ruth and Randy Roadhouse of Whitby, Susan and Jonathan Baxter of Oshawa and Ted and Eva Halsall of Cannington. Grandpa will be missed by 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Survived by sister Grace Stewart, predeceased by sister Lavina and brother William Rushworth. Reuben was born in Cobalt on April 10, 1914. He lived and worked as a miner in Kirkland Lake, moved to North Bay in 1973, and then later to Oshawa to be closer to his family, with plans to spend the summers at his cottage, the Redwood in Northern Ontario. Memorial to celebrate his faith and life to be held in the chapel at Hillsdale Manor, 600 Oshawa Blvd. N., Oshawa, on Wednesday, February 4, 2004 at 9:30 in the morning.
