Peacefully at Ajax-Pickering Hospital on Sunday, April 26th, 2004. Lyle, in his 48th year. Beloved husband of the late Monica “Susie” Coady. Loving father of Tim, Scott and Ashley. Predeceased by his parents Gladys and James Coady. Son-in-law of Lawrence and Betty McNeil. Dear brother of James and his wife Gail, Terry, Sue and the late Ron. Dear brother-in-law of Ron, Eddie, Larry, Cathy and Laura. Lyle will be sadly missed by all of his friends and family. FRASER, Betty
Peacefully, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, on Monday, April 26, 2004. Mary Elizabeth (Betty) was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, on February 18, 1915, the eldest daughter of the late J. Harry and Lillian Chown. She was devoted to her husband of 64 years, Hugh, who passed away just 6 weeks ago. Together they enjoyed a full and rich life, commencing in their matrimonial home, a modest canvas tent, near Yellowknife, NWT, then progressing to their first home on Vancouver Island, then Toronto and finally Oshawa. Betty was exceptionally spirited, enjoyed a wide range of personal interests, was sometimes outspoken, but always compassionate. She dedicated her life as a homemaker and mother and is sadly missed by her surviving children Norman, Doug and Mary MacDonald. Her daughter Nancy Bell pre-deceased her as have brothers Edwin and Peter, sister Nancy Thomson, and son-in-law Norm MacDonald. She is survived and warmly remembered by daughters-in-law Ruth and Anne, son-in-law Ken Bell, and her grandchildren Cameron (and Catherine), Wokie, Shelagh, Katie, Christine and Rob. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 29, 2004 at 3:00 PM in the chapel at McINTOSH-ANDERSON FUNERAL HOME, 152 King St. E., Oshawa (905-433-5558). Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Durham or a Charity of choice.

HALLOWELL, Joseph John 'Joe'
(Retired 37 year employee of General Motors of Canada; Longtime member of Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church) Died peacefully, in his sleep, at Lakeridge Health Corp. Oshawa on Monday, April 26, 2004, Joe, in his 93rd year. Beloved husband of the late Irene. Dear father of Ted and wife Marion Franklin and Kathy Wilson. Fondly remembered by his grandchildren Laurie and husband Vince Docimo, Kathy and husband Ian Ashing, David and wife Margaret Franklin, Stephen and wife Tracey Lines, Todd and wife Cheryl Wilson and great-grandchildren Paul and Stephanie Docimo, Colton and Cassandra Lines, Joshua, Kendal and Jeremy Wilson. Suddenly at Oshawa on Monday, April 26th, 2004. Michael Joseph Manners Larocque, in his 53rd year. Beloved son of Simon Larocque of Oshawa and the late Noreen June (nee Kitchen). Peacefully at his residence, West Shore Retirement Village, Port Perry on Monday April 26th, 2004 in his 80th year. Dearly loved husband of the late Phyllis (Toots) Wyatt. Much loved father of Lynda (Ron Bray), Brenda (George Bryant), Gail (Wayne Percoor), Pam (Late Lynn Shymko), Shelley (Shawn McGrath) and Diane (Doug Bryant). Grandfather of 13, and the late Allan. Great grandfather of 7. urvived by brothers Roy and Hugh. Resting at MEMORIAL CHAPEL BROOKLIN LTD., 79 Baldwin Street Brooklin Village from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday. Then to Brooklin United Church where family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. until time of service to follow in the church Thursday Afternoon at 2:00 o'clock. WALLWORK, Alfred
Alfred (Al) Wallwork passed away peacefully at the home of his daughter Alison Belair and her spouse Peter Batek on Monday April 26, 2004. Al was born on December 31, 1915, in Manchester, England, one of twelve children of George and Elizabeth Wallwork. He was predeceased by his loving wife Eileen, on August 15, 1999. They were married July 29, 1947 and enjoyed 52 years together. He served as an Aircraft Technician with the Royal Air Force for 22 years, seeing service in West Africa and the Middle East. Immigrating to Canada in 1957 and settling in Scarborough, Ontario, he worked for the Canadian Gas Association, becoming Senior Engineering Technician, until his retirement in 1980. In 1984, Al and Eileen became pioneer residents of the Wilmont Creek community. He is survived by his sons, David Fearon (Vivian) and Chris Fearon (Wally) and his daughter Alison Belair (Peter), in addition to two sisters, Irene (UK) and Marie (California, USA), six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Al's early interests included singing with the RAF band, and later he enjoyed cryptic crosswords, billiards and cards, and was an avid golfer. Donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a Charity of your choice.

WRIGHT, Shelley (nee Shannon)
At Princess Margaret Hospital on Monday, April 26th, 2004. In her 51st year. After a brief illness with family by her side, Shelley passed into rest. Beloved wife of Lawrence Wright. Loving mother of Donna Laverne Griffin-Smith and her husband Don Smith of Blackstock, Morell Josslin and her husband Paul Branton of Little Britain, Eric Richard Libby and his wife Sandy of Kapuskasing, Dellas Marguerite and her husband Gene Rodinsky of Brantford, and Douglas Alexander Libby and his wife Louise of Oshawa. Wonderful grandmother of Scott and Clint Griffin, Troy Manganaro, Wesley and Ryan Branton, Tyler and Travis Libby (Rhonda), Tanis (Matt Gallupe), Jordan Rodinsky, Aaron, Christine and Jason Libby, and great grandmother of Nick and Gavin Libby. After a heroic struggle with cancer, Betty passed away on Saturday April 24, 2004 at Lakeridge Health Whitby in her 66th year. Betty, beloved wife of the late William. Loving mother of Bryce and his wife Jo-Ann, John and his wife Johnna, Anne and her husband Dan Sinai. Dear Granny of Bryan, Mark, Leah, Ben and Kelsey. Fondly remembered by her brothers Bob and Bill Barlow, her many friends, particularly Margaret Connelly, and by the Staff and Customers at Pat & Mike's. Peacefully entered into rest at the Rouge Valley Ajax Pickering Hospital, on Saturday, April 24, 2004 at the age of 85. Loving wife of the late John Charles Mather. SCOTT, Finlay K.
At the Rouge Valley Health Centre - Ajax, Pickering Site on Saturday, April 24, 2004. Finlay was the loving husband for 64 years to Gladys. Finlay will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Timothy, Loral, Anthony, Scott, Lily, Christine, Robyn, Ken, Nik and Penny, great-grandchildren Tegan, Taryn, Alexandra, Andrew and his nephew Bruce Scott. Beloved wife of the late George McClay McCammond (1976). PARKER, Kenneth Ridley
Has gone to heaven to care and nurture spring gardens April 23, 2004. He was 57. Ken will be remembered for his devotion to family, his wit, his inventiveness and his passion for orchids. Left to celebrate his caring and inspiring life are his loving wife of thirty years, Judy, cherished son, Darcy (Boston), adored daughter, Yvette Simpson and her husband Erik (Houston, TX) and treasured grandson, Gavin. Ken will be fondly remembered by sister, Lynda Mackay (Reay), Toronto and brother, Russell (Deb), California. Ken is the beloved nephew of Catharine Ridley, London, ON., and son-in-law of Lauretta Johnston, Woodstock. This past year he has been sustained and comforted by faith. He is blessed with special relatives throughout Canada and the U.S. Ken and his family are thankful for the unconditional care and support of Doctor John Simpson, Uxbridge, and Reverend Elaine Lush.
