Peacefully on April 15th 2004, at 73 years of age. Best friend and loving husband of Violet. Dear father of Barry and wife Beth Ann, Jeff and wife Mara, Allan of Oshawa, Susan, Lee of Oshawa and Keith and Penny. Stepfather to Randy of Calgary. Predeceased by son Douglas (1997) and stepson Darrell (1990). Son of late Austin and Elizabeth (Betsy) Hooper. Cherished stepson of Grace Hooper. Douglas will be sadly missed by his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Dearest brother of Margaret Burnfield of Port Perry, Jack and wife Joan of Oshawa, Barb Woodley (1978), Ruth Forgette (1990), Carter and wife Heather of Oshawa, Larry and wife Sharron of Oshawa, Gail Wilson of Oshawa and Robert (1974). Douglas was former member of the R.C.L. Branch #143. Special thanks to the nurses on the 3rd and 4th floor at I.O.D.E. Western Hospital, Windsor. 1941 -- Forget Me Not -- 2004. (A retiree of General Motors Canada) It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tyrone Saunders fondly known as "Kent". Beloved husband of Helen Saunders (nee Luke) and loving father of Jill (Jimmy) and James (Barb) at Lakeridge Health Corp. Oshawa on Thursday April 15th, 2004 at the age of 62 years, after a courageous battle with cancer. Kent was predeceased by his father Charles and mother Norah. Deeply mourned by his wife, children and grandchildren (Jaron, Brooklyn, Cameron), his sisters Margaret (Bud), Brenda, brother Jack (Ray), brothers and sisters in law Ed, (Debbie), Catherine, (Frank) and his nieces and nephews Denise (Ryan), Eddie (Tonia), Marco (Angie), Carla (Jim), Michael (Johanna), Carl (Sue), Julie, Randy (Karen), Jeff (Diane), Steven (Rose). Kent's spirit, determination, boundless energy, cheerful demeanour and sense of humour will be missed by all who had the privilege to know him and especially by those who loved him. Kent's passion for life never wavered despite his long struggle. He was always surrounded by love, hope, faith, family and friends.
