WEIDERICK, Lloyd B.
(Retired- Durham Board of Education). Following a lengthy illness, at his residence, Oshawa on Sunday, April 11th, 2004, Lloyd Bruce Weiderick, in his 76th year. Beloved husband of Mary. Dear father of Carl, Wendy Michelakos, Christopher and his wife Barbara. Lovingly remembered by his 10 grandchildren. Dear brother of Elizabeth and her husband Don Wingfield, and Beverly and her husband Howard Roth. Lloyd was a teacher with Durham Board of Education beginning in 1953 and retiring in 1985 as Principal of Dr. S. J. Phillips Public School. He was a Past President of the Kiwanis Club of Oshawa - Westmount and an active member of The Whitby Yacht Club. Friends may call at OSHAWA FUNERAL SERVICE "Thornton Chapel", 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Saturday, April 17th from 2 P.M. until time of Memorial Service in the Chapel at 3 P.M. HARDSAND, Clarence Eugene ''Clare''
1934 - FORGET ME NOT - 2004 (Lifetime member of Oshawa Kinsmen Club/K-40. Active member of Rotary Club of Oshawa). A former gold glove boxer known as ''Popeye'', and a great entrepreneur and owner of Hardsand Limited (76 years as a family business) Hardsand Fence and Patio Centre and Never Enough Wind Surf Shop. Peacefully passed away at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, April 10th, 2004, in his 71st year. He has gone to join his beloved and devoted wife Patricia (Smith) who passed on June 12th, 2003. Clare will be deeply missed by his children Joanne Sheard, Jenny Hardsand (Jerry Cruickshank), Geo. Hardsand (Cathy Smith); his grandchildren Taunia Van Noord (Ken Arksey), Nathan Van Noord (Marcee Matte); his great- grandchildren Autumn Van Noord and Baihlee Arksey; his sisters Joy Cassidy (Bill), Millie Ives (Vic), Georgina Hughes, his brother Albert, and by his many nieces, nephews and cousins. Resting at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa (905-433-4711) with Funeral Service in the Chapel on Tuesday, April 13th, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation. Donations to the Durham Region Cancer Centre or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. Visitation 7-9 p.m. Monday. He will be remembered and missed by all.

LONG, Vera Margaret, nee Sandford
Died peacefully Saturday April 10, 2004. Predeceased by her beloved husband William H. Long and her siblings Isobel, Ena, Moore and Leonard. Margaret will be sorrowfully missed by her family and friends. Margaret worked as a registered nurse (Ontario Hospital, Whitby, Class of 1934), and in partnership with her husband at the W. H. Long Printing Company of Toronto. Service were held Monday on Tuesday April 13 at 11 am. Memorial Service Friday April 16 at 9:30 am. at The Glebe Centre, 950 Bank St. Ottawa.

RYNARD, Elva
passed away peacefully on April 10, 2004 at the Versa Care Centre Uxbridge, in her 84th year. Elva was born September 24, 1920 in Ashworth, Ontario. Beloved wife of Mervin Rynard for over 59 years. Dear mother of Wayne and his wife Karen, Brent and his wife Cathy. Loving grandmother of Carol (Tim) Gravelle, Wendy, Laura, Bill and Jennifer. Predeceased by her parents Willmott Brent and Mima Hackner. Resting at the Low & Low Funeral Home for visitation on Monday, April 12, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 13, 2004 at 2 p.m. in the chapel. In Elva's memory, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society.

WILES, Stewart William
Peacefully, on Saturday, April 10th, 2004 at Lakeridge Health, Port Perry, in his 80th year. Stewart beloved husband of Marjorie. Predeceased by his sisters Lois, Katherine and brother Orland. Fondly remembered by his sisters-in-laws and brother-in-laws, nieces and nephews and his little dog Joey. At Stewarts request, there will be no service. Cremation, with private family burial.

ABRAMOWICZ, Hermine
Peacefully after a prolonged illness at Extendicare Nursing Home on Friday April 9th, 2004 in her 87th year. Predeceased by her husband Jerzy. Hermine will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by her daughter Christine Vella (Victor), her grandchildren Michael Vella, Debbie Duiker (Ken), her great grandchildren Holland, Haven, her sister Elizabeth Loni, her nephew Gino Loni (Val), and her great nephews Shawn and Matthew. Resting at THE ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East with Funeral Service in the Chapel on Sunday April 11th, 2004 at 4:00. Interment Holy Angels Cemetery, St. Thomas. Peacefully on Friday, April 9th, 2004 at Scarborough Hospital in his 91st year. Predeceased by his wife Jean (nee Shears). Loving father of Eugene (Martha), Marguerite (Douglas) and Carson (Christine). Beloved grandfather of David, Heather, Donna, Kenneth, Angela and James. Great-grandfather of Alexanderia, Graham and Amelia. Survived by brother William Hillary Cook. FORBES, Kathleen Frances 1902-2004
Peacefully at Fairview Lodge, in her 102nd year. First president of St. Joseph's C.W.L. Highland Creek. Beloved wife of the late Harold Forbes, retired fire captain. Dear mother of Murray (Barbara), Kathleen (Joe Mercer), and Gladys (Jim Avola). Predeceased by Rosemary (1986) and Harold (Mary Haughian) 2002. Last surviving member of the Murray Family of 11 children. Lovingly remembered by 29 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph's Church, 200 Morrish Rd., Highland Creek on Wednesday, April 14, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. Cremation. Kathleen devoted her life to her faith, family and friends. Her generosity had no bounds. A special lady who will be remembered by many. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Jennie Newson, Jeffrey Armstrong, Janice Armstrong, Lori English, Julie English, Katelin English, Andrew English, Erin Burns, Michael Burns, and great-grandchildren Ethan, Lucas, and Ava. Dear brother of Margaret Killen (Harold), William (Beth), Ronald (Arlene), and Sheldon (Evylen). Predeceased by brothers Charles, Burley, Ivan, and Roy, sister Myrtle, and parents John and Annie (nee Shadbolt). Predeceased by her brothers Stuart Joll and Jack Joll and brother in law Harry Seekins and sister in law Doris Joll. Peacefully at the home of her cousin, on Friday April 9, 2004. Dora will be greatly missed by her cousin Maurice Butt of Courtice, her sister Alice (Mrs. Stan Hoy) of Courtice, her brother Donald Taylor of Janetville and many nieces and nephews. Dora was predeceased by her sisters Blanche and Theda (Mrs. Arthur Bedwin) and her brothers Stan and Andy. At Lakeridge Health Bowmanville on Friday, April 9, 2004, at the age of 60 years, after a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved wife for 44 years of George Towns. Cherished mother of Darrin and Deborah, and Robert and Pam. Devoted grandmother to Ashley, Amanda, Russ and Grace Mary Elizabeth. Dear daughter of the late Harold (1973) and Bessie (1970) Barnewall. Dear sister of Marion and Mark Hosack (Chatham), Ross and Doris Barnewall (Kincardine), Barbara Cunningham and the late David (Essex), Ruth and Carl Verhulst (Toronto), Newton and Jackie Barnewall (Elliot Lake), Dave and Terry Barnewall (Kingsville), and predeceased by sister Betty Denis (1973) and brother Bryce Barnewall (2000). Dear sister-in-law of Helen Barnewall and Ken and Krista Towns. Carroll was greatly loved and will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Cherished grandmother of Ryan, Darick, Genevieve, Nicole, Dylan, Autumn, Jen and William. Great-grandmother of Montanna. Survived by sisters Pat McDuff and Ethel Richard, and brothers Esmond Danahy and Gerald Danahy. Resting at MEMORIAL CHAPEL BROOKLIN Ltd., 79 Baldwin Street, Brooklin Village from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday. Then to Holy Family Catholic Church, 91 Ribblesdale Dr., Whitby for Mass of Christian Burial, Tuesday, April 13th at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Whitby. Loving grandfather of Rob Page and his wife Tracy of Barry's Bay and Glenn Page and Sara of Little Britain and great grandfather of Bronsen, Garret and Fletcher.
