JAMES, William Patrick - passed away on October 19, William Patrick James of Cape Broyle, after a short illness. Predeceased by son Shawn (1985); brothers, Gordon and Ron. Leaving to mourn, his wife Patricia Mary; and daughter Patricia Ann (Shane Power); two sisters, Barbara Novinski and Shirley Marholz, residing in the U.S.A.; as well as extended family members, nieces and nephews. Resting at Ryan`s Funeral Home, Bay Bulls. Visitation Sunday, October 21 at 11 a.m. from Immaculate Conception Church, Cape Broyle. Interment at Our Lady of the Cape R.C. Cemetery, Cape Broyle.

FEWER, Mary T. (nee Sceviour) - 1907-2001. Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family at the Health Sciences Centre on April 12, 2001, Mary T. Fewer in her 94th year. Predeceased by her husbands, Nicholas McGrath (1951), Peter Lyons (1963), and Bernard Fewer (1996), her son-in-law John J. Corbett (2001), and great-grandson Corey Doran (1994), and two great-granddaughters, Peggy and Hilda McGrath, six brothers: Jack, Bill, Frank, Charles, Tom and Joe, and one sister Sarah. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are six children: Mary Corbett, Chapel`s Cove; Raymond McGrath (Margaret), Avondale; Loretta Johnson, Arkansas; Joe McGrath, Manuels; Ann Ghaney, Avondale; and Geraldine Lewis (Charles), Colliers with whom she resided; seven step-children: Marion, Ellen, Patricia, Patrick and Peter Lyons, and Elizabeth and Bernard Fewer; her 40 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. Also three sisters-in-law, Margaret Doyle, Louise O`Flaherty, and Katie Hennessey, all of Avondale, and special friend Marion Lewis of Chapel`s Cove, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Dunphy`s Funeral Home, Holyrood. Visitation from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. on Saturday and from 2-10 p.m. on Easter Sunday. Funeral will take place on Monday, April 16, 2001 following 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial from Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Harbour Main. Interment will be in the family plot at Assumption Cemetery, Avondale. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one`s choice. STEVENSON, Cecil F. - Passed peacefully away at St. Clare`s Mercy Hospital after a short illness on Sunday, January 26, 2003, Cecil F. Stevenson, aged 73 years. Leaving to mourn three sisters Elizabeth with whom he resided, Lillian Dodge (Aubrey) and Kathleen Price . Also leaving to mourn Aunt Phylis Jones and nieces and nephews. GRIFFIN, Des - Passed peacefully away at James Paton Memorial Hospital, August 2, 2002, Mr. Des Griffin in his 77th year. Predeceased by his parents Tom and Magdaline (nee Finn); brothers Tom and Claude; and sister Gertrude. Left with fond and loving memories are spouse Joan (nee Cleary), R.N.; sons, Sean (Debbie) of Stony Creek, Ont., Mick (Cathy) of Toronto, Ont.; brothers, Arthur (Margret) of Grand Falls, Willam (Gerry) of Grand Falls; sister Barbara (Paul) Gonsalves of Bluffton, S.C.; grandchildren, Merryn, Bryn, Devin, Brennan, Shandis; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. YABSLEY, Doris Emma (nee Stick) - Passed peacefully away in the presence of her family at the Agnes Pratt Home on Sunday, September 30th, 2001, aged 92 years. Predeceased by her husband Reginald in 1960. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her two sons: Reginald and wife Shirley (nee Bingham) of Halifax, Richard and wife Paula (nee Rogers) of St. John`s; seven grandchildren: Susan and Andrew of Halifax, Bart and wife Nancy Compton and Jennifer of Toronto, Peter, Paige, Jillian and husband Chris Young, all of St. John`s; two great-grandchildren: Meghan and Erin of Toronto; also leaving to mourn one sister Lillian Warmen of Burnaby, B.C.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. WHITE, Nathaniel - Surrounded by the love of his family, and the angels from heaven above, Nathaniel E. (Nath) age 74 of Torbay, after a courageous battle with cancer, went to join his son James who predeceased him on November 24, 2002.
