PLEAU, Russell Joseph
(Veteran of WWII, Serving with the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Highlanders; Retired from the City of Oshawa Parks Department). Peacefully, at Lakeridge Health Corp. Oshawa, with his immediate family by his side, on Thursday, June 17, 2004, in his 83rd year. Russell will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 61 years, Margaret (nee Dalby), and son Wayne and his wife Emily of Hampton. Devoted PaPa to his grandchildren, Danielle and her husband Gary Lakin, Jason and his fiancee Andree and great-grandchildren Scotty and Chloe Lakin. Predeceased by his parents Bertha and Louis Pleau and brothers Louis and Raymond. Also survived by his sister Doreen and her husband Fred Hirschfeld of Sherbrooke, N.S., and many other family and friends. Relative and friends will be received at the McINTOSH-ANDERSON FUNERAL HOME LTD., 152 King St. E., Oshawa (905-433-5558) on Sunday from 2 -4 and 7-9 p.m. A service will be held in the chapel on Monday, June 21, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. Interment. Donations made in memory of Russell to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Lund Association would be appreciated.

passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Thursday, June 17, 2004, in her 97th year. Dearly beloved wife of Norman. Loving mother of Joan and her husband Barrie, Jill and her husband Ed. After a short illness, on Wednesday, June 16, 2004 at the Lakeridge Health Centre in Oshawa, at age 54. Ivan Jeffrey of Scugog Island, beloved husband of Heather (nee Demara). Loved father of Scott, Sean and Shane. Dear brother of Bonnie and her husband Bill Bell, and Bill Jeffrey and his wife Linda. Ivan will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. METROPOLYT, Mary (Moroz) (nee Mokry)
passed away peacefully with her family at her side at Hillsdale Estates on Wednesday June 16, 2004. Mary was 7 days short of her 101st birthday. Born on June 23, 1903 in Tulukive Ukraine, she was the daughter of the late Lena & Joseph Mokry. Beloved wife of the late George Metropolyt (1960) who she married in 1926 in Iroquois Falls. Loving mother of Anne & her husband Alex Pankiw and mother in law to Sally Metropolyt. Predeceased by her son John in 2002. Grandmother to Alex & Kathy Pankiw, Angela & Dale Rogers, Lori, John & Micheline Metropolyt, and great grandmother to Rebekah, Sara & Mathew Rodgers, Jessica Metropolyt plus one in August. Special thanks to staff of the 2nd floor South Building of Hillsdale Manor for their excellent care and compassion. passed away suddenly at Ajax-Pickering Hospital on Wednesday June 16, 2004, at the age of 82. Beloved wife of the late Albert Stephen Nagey. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Marna, Michael, Cara, Rachelle, Nicole, Stephanie, and Jonathon, and great grandchildren Ashley & Jessica. Will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Rob and Crystal, Chadd, Shannon and Steve, Cheryl and Brett, Brad, Jason, and Arianne. Great grandfather of Makayla, Madison, Hudson and Kirsten. Evelyn is predeceased by her sisters Helen MacDonald and Audrey Armstrong and by her brother Gerald MacDonnell. She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and friends. Evelyn loved her music, her dancing, her dolls and her dogs. PAULL, Bessie (nee Foster )
Born September 10, 1908, Bessie passed away with grace and dignity on Tuesday June 15, 2004 in her 96th year after a brave battle with cancer. Beloved wife of the late William John Paull. Loving mother of Bruce and his wife Shirley. Much loved grandmother to Larry and his wife Susan, and Judy (MacLeod) and her husband Ken. Sadly missed by her six great-grandchildren: Matthew, Stephanie, and Melanie (Paull) and Ian, Jessica and Jenna (MacLeod). Survived by her sister Susie Chatsworthy and her husband Steve (of Somerset, England) and her many nieces and nephews in the UK. Dear Godmother to Donna Payne, and Lynn-Anne Byrne. Bessie was a longtime active member of the South Pickering Senior Citizen's Club and last of its' six original members who founded the club, holding its first meetings in their homes. Bessie was an avid bingo player, loved to play cards, especially with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a great knitter, knitting many pairs of slippers for many club fund raising functions. Many thanks to her good friends at St. Martin's Senior s Complex. Thanks also to the doctors, nurses and staff at Sunnybrook Cancer Clinic, and Centenary Health Centre, and the Palliative Care Team at Bridgepoint Health Centre. The family will receive friends at McEachnie Funeral Home from 1-4 and 6-8 pm on Thursday. The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday June 18, 2004 at 11:00 am.
