Peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her family at Lakeridge General Hospital, Oshawa on Thursday June 10, 2004 at the age of 47. Loved wife and best friend of Gord. Cherished mother of and inspiration to Tom of London and Sarah of Oshawa. Daughter of the late Edward and Margaret Chasty. Daughter in law of the late Tom and Margaret McDowell. Dear sister of Laura Chasty and Edward Chasty Jr. (Denise) all of Thunder Bay. Sister-in-law of Irene Miller (Jim) of Scotland. Niece of Elizabeth McDowell. Aunt to Scott, Cheryl and Angela Chasty of Thunder Bay. Prior to her illness, Barbara devoted years of service as canvasser for the Canadian Cancer Society. A devoted wife and mother, she touched the lives of many with her personality and her warm smile. She will be dearly missed by all. Suddenly, on Wednesday, June 9, 2004, at the age of 17. Beloved son of Jill (nee Roustan) and Paul Babin, loving brother of Scott and Kayla. Trevor loved his grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends very much. His humour, warmth and caring nature will be sadly missed by so many, but never forgotten. Trevor's love of music will also carry on through the establishment of a musical instrument fund at his high school. LYNCH, Thomas
1924-2004 - Died June 8, 2004, Brooklin, Ontario Tom passed peacefully in his home surrounded by family and with the love of his life, Joyce, his wife of 55 years, at his side. Loving father of Tricia (Brad) Raffensperger, Pauline (Don) Lynch- Stewart, Tom (Lisa) Lynch, and Sean Lynch (Anna Khimasia). He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Brenton, Kyle, Cody, Cameron, Liam, Kieran, Maeve and Eva. Tom is also survived by his siblings Eric and Betty. He is predeceased by George and Anne. Tom gave selflessly of himself throughout his life. During WWII, Tom parachuted to safety in occupied France, and escaped with the aid of the Faure family, and others. Upon retirement, Tom energized the Royal Airforce Escaping Society, helping to reconnect evaders, and evaders with their civilian helpers. Tom published a collection of RAFE member accounts and presented it to the Minister of Veterans' Affairs in 2001. Following a successful private sector career during which he pioneered computer controlled machine design and engineering and contributed to the construction of the Avro Arrow, Tom taught Mechanical and Business Technology for 20 years at Seneca College as well as in Egypt, Nigeria and Sierra Leone. He was well known for ''holding court'' at the family dinner table - talking, challenging, engaging and giving us all his sense of the world through his Irish eyes. Our Da leaves us all with a legacy of faith, love, humour and family. The family would like to extend a special thanks to his ''angels'' disguised as VHA nurses. To Val Savage, Rita Grieve and Karen Muir, ''God Bless''. Also sincere thanks to his care workers Rosaline, Sandy and Eliseo. A wake will be held Thursday, June 10, from 7-9 p.m. at the MEMORIAL CHAPEL BROOKLIN, 79 Baldwin Street in Brooklin, a few blocks north of Hwy. 7 on Hwy. 2 (Baldwin Street). All are welcome. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate a Funeral Mass together on Friday, June 11 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Anglican Church, 101 Winchester Road East, a few blocks east of the junction of Hwys. 7 and 12, in Brooklin. MADSEN, Carl Jorgen
passed away peacefully to join his beloved wife Marie on Tuesday June 8, 2004 at Lakeview Manor, Beaverton. He will continue to live on in the hearts of his children Karen, Johannes, Peter, Herluf, Inge, Else, Viveke, Kirsten, Elin and Troels and their spouses, as well as his 28 grandchildren and their spouses and 49 great-grandchildren here in Canada, the United States and Denmark. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Lakeview Manor in Beaverton, for their compassionate care and support over the past 3 1/2 years. A memorial service will be held at St. Andrew's United Church, 523 Simcoe Street, Beaverton on Thursday June 17 at 1 p.m. As per Mother's and Father's wishes, they will be taken back to Denmark where together they will be laid to rest at Sonderbjaert Kirke, where they married 70 years ago.
