Eric was born on March 22, 1919 and raised in Louth, Lincolnshire, England. He was the eldest of 5 children. On November 29, 1947 Eric married the love of his life, Gwynneth Margaret Cavey and settled in Llanelli, Wales. Their first child, Bernadette was born in 1950. Eric s adventuresome nature brought the family to Canada in 1952, settling in Oshawa, Ontario where he personally built their dream home. In 1956 their son Duncan was born. Eric worked for Pigot Construction for 25 years and left behind some memorable buildings: the Minolta Tower in Niagara Falls, the Toronto Dominion Towers in Toronto, and the Father s of Confederation Building in Charlotte, Prince Edward Island. Not a person to remain idle, Eric then joined Kassinger Construction, a position he held for another 7 years before officially retiring in 1984. His love of the outdoors was readily evident by his magnificent "English Garden style" yard that attracted visitors from all around. Eric s wonderful sense of humor and heart of gold enriched the lives of all who had the good fortune to have their paths cross. He was the wind beneath the wings of so many!
