passed away at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto on Thursday, August 19th, 2004, age 2 years, after a gallant fight with cancer. She will be forever loved and always cherished by her parents Bruce and Cynthia Gray. Loved by her grandparents Earl and Sharon MacKinnon of Brooklin, James and Lillian Gray of West Hill, and Jane and Rodney Blonde of Woodstock and her great-grandmother Kathleen Powers of Moncton. Fondly remembered by many aunts and uncles and their families. Emily and her family gratefully acknowledge the care and ''special'' attention by Dr. Michael Capra and his team 8A Oncology and hospital staff. Visitation will be held at St. Thomas Anglican Church, 101 Winchester Rd. E., Brooklin (Winchester/St. Thomas Sts., between Hwy. 12 and Thickson Rd.) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday and from 1-3 p.m. Saturday. THOMPSON, Dorothy Anne (Eastes)
It is with great sadness that Dorothy's family announce her passing at Lakeridge Health Whitby on Thursday, August 19, 2004, after a valiant battle with thyroid cancer. Deeply missed by her husband of 44 years, Ronald, and her three sons and daughters-in-law, Gord (Denise), Bob (Stephanie) and Mark (Shawna). Devoted and beloved grandma of Erika, Shawn, Derek, Kristen, Richard, Kendal and Quinn. Dorothy will be missed by her many relatives, friends and neighbours and will be remembered for her boundless energy, her talent for needlework and her profound dedication to her family. Grandma, you remain in our hearts until we are all re-united in Heaven. Born June 1st, 1953 Didsbury, Alberta. passed away on Wednesday, August 18th, 2004 at Lakeridge Health-Oshawa. Cancer claimed her body but her soul is free. Loved and will be missed by her husband Rob, daughter Tara and son Trevor. Survived by her parents Trevor and Laura, brother Bill and sisters Pat and Donnally. Lynn will be sadly missed by the staff and seniors at the Oshawa Senior Citizens Centre. A Private Family Service will be held on Wednesday, August 25th. (Member of the North Oshawa Lioness Club and U.C.W. of Northminster United Church, Oshawa) Peacefully, at Barrhaven Manor in Ottawa, on Tuesday, August 17, 2004, in the supportive company of her daughter. Mom will be deeply missed by her daughter Janet and her husband Harold Hedley and her grandsons Steve and Ryan Zbitnew, who were the lights of her life and sadly missed by the grandsons' dad Mark. Dear sister of Clara and her husband John Hodgson of Oshawa and Ron Baker and his wife Maureen of Stirling. Also remembered by her nieces and nephews Cathy, Rick, Patti, Bev, Sue, Kenny and Tracey. Shirley is the daughter of the late Harry and Hazel Baker. Shirley was born in Trenton Ontario on July 20, 1936. Her life journey took her to Dartmouth Nova Scotia where she resided for 28 years, and she retired from Transport Canada with 23 years service. For the last four years Shirley enjoyed living in Oshawa where she and her sister took an active role in the North Oshawa Lioness Club and the U.C.W. Throughout her life Shirley participated in her community making crafts, organizing community events and serving meals. More recently and in order to be nearer her daughter, Shirley moved to Ottawa, Ontario. Our mom, grandmother, sister and aunt will always be remembered by us and her many friends for her love of family and smile. A very special thank you to Dr. Ben Ho and Dr. Fingerote and the nursing staff at 4B Queensway Carleton Hospital; and the 8th floor Lakeridge Health - Oshawa and the caring staff of Barrhaven Manor.
