Suddenly, at Lakeridge Health - Oshawa, with family by her side, on Sunday, September 12, 2004, in her 48th year. Lynne, dearly beloved daughter of Chris and the late Shirley Kimmerer. Loving mother of Amy and Kerri Smith. Dear sister to Marty Kimmerer and his wife Theresa. STURGESS, James A. (Jim)
With Margaret at last. Husband of the late Margaret Smith. Born on December 25th, 1919. passed away September 12th, 2004 peacefully with his family at his side at Fairview Lodge, Whitby. Survived by his brother Don Sturgess and his wife Fay of Whitby. Beloved father of Susan and Guy of Utica, Doug and Lorraine of Brooklin, John and Tricia of Oshawa and Elaine of Hastings. Loved by his many grandchildren. Jim was a descendent of one of the earliest settlers of Whitby, John Sturgess of Hamers Corners in the early 1800's. Jim was a devoted WWII Naval Veteran Mid Ocean Escort and Newfy - Derry Run of the Battle of the Atlantic. Jim was a Stationary Engineer retired from Firestone in Whitby. He also was a member of the Oshawa Naval Veterans Club, The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 112, Masonic Temple Whitby, and an Honorary Member of the Whitby Curling Club. Past member of the Chiefs and P.O.'s Club of Victoria B.C. and the Toronto Chiefs and P.O.'s Club. The family would like to thank all the staff for their kindness and caring during Jim's stay at Fairview Lodge. At Jim's request the Funeral Service will be private, but a Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held at a later date to be announced.

CORRIVEAU, Clairida
It is with profound sadness that the family of Clairida Corriveau announces her passing on September 11, 2004 at age 77. Loving wife of Leopold Corriveau. Cherished mother and mother-in-law of Claude (Judy) and Denis (Kathy) Corriveau. Special grandmother to Rebecca Corriveau, Sarah Corriveau - Digweed (Tom), Jennifer, Jeremy and Aleisha Corriveau. Many thanks to Clair's loyal friend Fernande, who's support was greatly appreciated. Visitation was held at THE ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East Oshawa. PRESTON, Marjorie
Peacefully at her home in Port Perry on Saturday September 11, 2004 with her husband and best friend Chuck by her side. Dear mother of Wendy and her husband Len Claridge, Heather and her husband John Cooper, Christine and her husband Brad Law, Anita and her husband Dave Haynes and Cindy Preston. passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 11, 2004 at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital, in his 91st year. Beloved husband of the late Florence. GULENCHYN, Nicholas "Nick"
April 1, 1922 - September 9, 2004. Peacefully, on Thursday, September 9th, 2004 at Lakeridge Health-Whitby, Nick passed away from the stroke he suffered on July 4, 2004 at Redstone Lake. Nick was the beloved husband of the late Joyce Wheaton; loving father of Tom, Pat and her husband Doug Prentice; cherished grandpa of Lindsay and Alexandra Prentice. Nick was an avid outdoorsman and a great fishing buddy. He was a licensed pilot who loved to fly and a gentleman farmer. After serving in the Royal Canadian Navy during World War II, he worked in General Motors for 30 years. He will be sadly missed by his sister Helen Hruska; brother John and his wife Olga; sister-in-laws Pearl and Marie; brother-in-law Peter Sobil. Nick was pre-deceased by his sisters Kay, Mary Bilenduke, Rose Harmer and Annie Sobil; brothers Peter, Paul and William; brother-in-laws William Bilenduke, Hub Harmer and Andy Hruska. His many nieces and nephews and their families are saddened to lose their uncle Nick. The Wheaton family clan in Saskatchewan and Albert and his close friend Maureen Sindall were a special part of his life. Daughter of the late Mary and Alex Leson, she was born October 13th, 1929 in Canora, Saskatchewan. She is survived by daughter Kathryn Hood of San Franisco, California, son Kevin Hood of Edmonton, brother Johnny and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Mike and George and sister Emma. Patricia was a member of the Canadian Corps Unit 42 Ladies Auxiliary. MORELAND, Rev. William
Passed peacefully away into the arms of HIS LORD on Thursday, September 9, 2004 at the age of 88. Born September 6, 1916 to William Moreland and Sarah, nee Day, in Bloomsfield, New Jersey. Graduated Nyack Missionary College in 1938 and Taylor University, Indiana. Beloved husband of Anna Elizabeth (Henry) for 64 years. Beloved father of Martha Hyde and husband Weston, Stephen Moreland and wife Linda, Ruth Nelson and husband Michael, Wesley Moreland and wife Laverna. Beloved grandfather of Julie Manley and husband David, Jason, Christoff, Noah, Jessica, Caleb, Ben, Sarah, Jacob and Rebekah and beloved great-grandfather of Jaden. Loving brother of Donald Moreland and wife Frieda. Dear brother-in-law of Paul and Ruth Steiner, Jack Henry and Paul Henry. Pre-deceased by his brother Clarkson and sisters-in-law Helen and Ida. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. "Pastor" Bill served as minister to Christian and Missionary Alliance Churches in Trenton, New Jersey; Greenville, Ohio; Hamilton, Waterdown and Orillia, Ontario. Served as 1st Lieutenant U.S. Army Chaplain in the Phillipines, New Guinea and Korea (1944). Graduated from the first chaplaincy training at McMaster University. He became a charter member of Federal Interfaith Chaplains Association, Ontario Provincial Interfaith Chaplains Association and the Ontario Hospital Chaplains Association. He introduced Chaplaincy Service in Huronia Regional Centre in Orillia, Ontario, Homewood Sanatorium in Guelph, Ontario and provided Supervised Pastoral Education at both facilities for Theological Students and Pastors. Bill was an enthusiastic gardener and fisherman, but above all a true man of God. The family would like to thank the caring staff of Fairview Lodge in Whitby who provided extraordinary ministering to Bill in his final days. (February 7th, 1955 to September 9th, 2004) Peacefully at his beloved home in Bowmanville surrounded by his family and close friends. Beloved son of Charles and the late Carol Thomas. Dear brother of Dale (Walter) and Kerry (Neil) and loving uncle to Alex, Samantha, Kaitlin and Erik. Jeff was a carpenter and a builder who enjoyed bringing his visions to life through the materials of wood, brick and steel. An accomplished pianist who could play music by ear. 1949-2004. Jim Arsenault who passed away on September 8, 2004 was laid to rest in PEI. His family will be hosting a Memorial Service in Jim's honour.
