At 90 years, died peacefully at Wynfield Nursing Home Oshawa on November 14, 2004. Many thanks to the staff. He is survived by his wife Charlotte, who after 65 years of marriage, will now follow her own path. His children Wolfgang, Regina and Teri will attend a private Interment at GROVESIDE Cemetery November 17, 11 am. There will be a reception at Club Loreley at noon for friends who would like to attend.

Peacefully on Sunday, November 14th, 2004 at Lakeridge Health Centre, Oshawa Site. Dear brother of Ernest John and Winnifred and her husband Donald Scott; predeceased by his brothers Herbert, Allen and Francis. GOODE, Donald Harold
passed away at P.R.H.C. Palliative Care on Saturday November 13, 2004 after a short time with cancer. Former owner of the Lakefield Creamery & Dairy for 15 years and worked at the Village of Lakefield Water Treatment Plant for 10 years. Don was born in Port Perry July 6, 1927 and was raised and educated in Orono, ON. Survived by his wife Margaret (Tink) for 53 years. Also survived by his sons Paul (Jan), and David (Barbara) and his grandchildren Bryan (Shawna), Leslie, Steven and Ian and his great granddaughter Hannah Marie. Remembered by his sisters Ruth Grady, June McMullen and Edna Taylor. Brother-in-law of Gwen and Mabel Goode, Kathleen and Irvine Harrell and Marion and William Dadson. Predeceased by his brothers Ray, Bruce and Robert. A Memorial service will be held at the Lakefield United Church on Wednesday November 17th, 2004 at 2:00 PM. If desired, donations to the Lakefield United Church Memorial Fund or PRHC Palliative Care would be appreciated.

PEELING, Lucy Jean (nee Gibbs)
Peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Saturday, November 13, 2004 at the age of 79. Beloved wife of Arthur H. Peeling. Loving mother of Douglas and his wife Linda, Bill and his partner Shawn, Bob and his wife Jayne and Janice and her husband Steve. Lovingly remembered by her eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Survived by her sisters Dorothy (the late William) Elliott, Joyce (John) St. Amant, Louise (Robert) Richardson and her brother Robert (Pat) Gibbs. passed away on Friday, November 12th, 2004 at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital, in her 84th year. Daisy, beloved wife of the late Morley. Peacefully at her daughter's home in Oshawa on Friday, November 12th, 2004. Predeceased by her beloved husband Davey and her cherished daughter Christine. Daughter of Edith and Edward Brisebois (deceased). Much loved Mom of Lynda Vanderzwet (Frank), Francine Doucette, Mike West (Lena) and David Thompson. Proud Nanny of Leslie Nixon (Mark), Sherry Herzog, Jim Welch (Vilma) and David Doucette and great-Nanny of Krista, Tyler and Jasmine. Loved sister of Alfred Brisebois (Nancy), Ken Brisebois (Doris) and Leonard (Fuzz) Brisebois (Barbara). Predeceased by brother Edward Brisebois. Beloved sister-in-law of Ernie and Audrey Thompson, Rona Arbuckle, and George Thompson (predeceased). Eadie was instrumental in the creation of Destiny Manor in Oshawa. She tirelessly worked to help many young women in their struggle with substance abuse, many of whom have become life long friends. She will be missed by her many friends within her AA family of which she was a member for 44 years, especially her soalmates and dearest friends Ruth and Pam and the ladies of the Tuesday morning meeting. Eadie will be resting at The ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa. Visitation Monday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service in the Chapel on Tuesday, November 16th, 2004 at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. Dear brother of Marinus (Cathy), Mary (Earl) Newman, John (Alice-Faye), Carl (Joy), Greg (Tammy), Jane (Enzo) Mazzotta, Rick (Tracey). Son in law of Raymond & Shirley Crowells. Brother in law of Donny & Debbie Spicher, Laurie Crowells & Alanna Jackson, Brian & Sarah Crowells, and Cathy & Dave Dobbie. Lovingly remembered by many nieces & nephews. Gary will be sadly missed by all of his loved family and many dear friends. BARWELL, Doreen
passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on November 11th, 2004 at the Markham/Stouffville Hospital. In her 80th year. Beloved mother of Stephen, Patricia (Melissa) and Bruce (Jennifer). Proud grandmother of Justin and Erik. Predeceased by her sister Dorothy Dickson. Grateful thanks to the support of the I.C.U. Staff at Markham/Stouffville Hospital. BLAETTLER, Andre Jacques
78, Beloved husband, father, grandpa and brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend passed away peacefully on Thursday November 11, 2004 surrounded by his family. He was born on September 17, 1926 in Lenzberg, Switzerland. Son of Rose and Andre Blaettler. After immigrating to Canada in the early 1950's he became a Canadian citizen on December 3, 1956. Always loyal to his homeland of Switzerland, it was his passion for horses that motivated him to immigrate to Ontario. Andre considered himself blessed for being able to live out his passion as an equine Manager at Windfields Farm. He managed many different aspects of this business including overseeing the foaling operations as well as managing the yearling division from 1958 until his retirement in 1988. Besides his love for horse racing he also enjoyed deer hunting, playing a good game of scrabble and quiet times spent with his wife and family at their cottage in northern Ontario. Andre was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Frances and their four children and their families. Ross Blaettler and his wife Laurie of Coboconk, Sue Korthauer and her husband Ken of Houston TX, Doris Blaettler and her partner Tom Callery of Oshawa, Allan Blaettler and his wife Sandra of Omemee. Grandchildren Jacob and Jessica Blaettler, Dana and Collin Korthauer, Travis, Kristyn, Emily Blaettler, and one great grandchild Tara Lynn Blaettler. Andre will also be missed by his sister Hanni and her husband Eric Gasser and their children Andreas, Christoph and Eva, brother in law Allan Snetsinger and his wife Betty and their children Janet James and David and their families, as well as many friends, co-workers at Windfields Farm and fellow residents of the Court of Brooklin. Andre will be remembered for the love of his family and friends, his loyalty to his homeland of Switzerland and his country of choice Canada, as well as his sense of style, his sharp wit and his sense of humor. Thank you to the many family, friends and neighbours at the Court at Brooklin who helped make this difficult time easier by expressing their love and concern and keeping Andre and his family close in prayer. Peacefully on Thursday November 11, 2004 at the Wynfield Long Term Care Centre at the age of 70. Ken, beloved son of the late Chester & Gertrude Butt. Loved brother of Helen Tyndall. Loved uncle of Alan Tyndall of Sudbury, Catherine Tyndall of Ottawa, and great uncle of Alison & Kelly Tyndall. Ken is survived by his former wife Lorraine Lawrence. Ken is predeceased by a brother in law Robert Tyndall and niece Laurie Tyndall. GIBSON, Ross Leonard
After a long battle with cancer, Ross Gibson of Brooklin, in his 57th year. June 29, 1948 November 11, 2004. passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. Beloved husband and best friend of Marilyn (Robinson). Son of the late Marian & Donald Gibson of Brooklin. Much loved stepfather of Jennifer & her husband Alex Bianco of Oshawa, and Chris Blodgett of Scarborough. Brother of Pamela Gibson and her husband John Bankes of England/Toronto. Proud uncle of his new little niece Schuyler Bankes. Brother in law and friend of Rose & Doug Hately, and Deanna Welsh of Bowmanville, Dave & Kathryn Robinson of Bradford, Dan & Margie Robinson of Oshawa, Keith & Ethel Robinson of Minden, and Jim & Chris Robinson of Oshawa, and his nieces & nephews Jake, (Michelle), Nathan, Laura, Mandy, and Clint Robinson, Matt (Tanya) & Andrew (Jilian) Hately , and Lisa & Stephen Welsh. His Golden Retriever Ginger rarely left his side at home when he got too weak to get out of bed. Thank you everyone for all your love, help & for being there for him this past year doing chores he just couldn t do anymore. He also leaves his best friends Marc & Sandy Lacroix of Caesarea and his co-workers and friends at Durham Region where he was employed for 33 years with the Works Department. Aside from his family, his Durham Region plow truck was his pride and joy. Ross also had many friends in the Brooklin Kinsman and the CAW 5pin Bowling League. Ross s world changed when he was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in August 2003 after feeling unwell for some time. By the time it was discovered he was Stage III. He braved radiation, chemo, major surgery and then more chemo but the cancer was too advanced. Many thanks to Dr. Ken Woolfson and Dr. Doug McIntosh for their care an compassion, 6F, 7M, the chemo clinic, Sunnybrook, DATC, and our 6M family for your undying love and support for both of us and for giving him his last birthday party. Thank you to Linda A., Cindy M., Donna and our weekend crew for all your visits, and phone calls when we needed them most. A special thank you to Pam for giving him his wish of a lifetime to own a Harley Heritage Soft tail he rode until he couldn t ride anymore, but it gave him purpose to face each day.

HARPER, Jane Margaret
Peacefully, on Thursday, November 11, 2004 at Lakeridge Health, Port Perry at age 64. Jane, beloved wife of Charlie and dear mother of Tami (Doug) Montgomery, Lori (Nick) Saragoza and Nancy Cherniak. Fondly remembered by her grandchildren Brandon, Brett, Scott, Alexa and Zane. Survived by her sister Grace Merritt. LAPTUTA, Walter
passed away peacefully on November 11th, 2004 at the Trilogy Nursing Home. His life was marked by a strong work ethic, dedication, love for his family and active member of the Ukrainian Community. His daughters are proud of his tremendous achievements in establishing himself and integrating into Canadian culture since his immigration on April 30th, 1948. He is predeceased by his wife Sophia who passed away August 8th, 2003. He will be sadly missed by his three daughters: Darice Darbyshire and her husband Peter of Castleton; Melanie Laflamme and her husband Raymond of Toronto; Roxanne Caldwell and her husband Darwin of Arizona; grandchildren: Clairissa Myschowoda; Marcel and Celine Laflamme; Bryan Little; his brother and sister in Ukraine.
