RAYMENT, Peggy Edith (nee Dawson) - November 20, 1921-May 28, 2002. Peggy passed away peacefully at Salem Manor in Leduc, Alta. She was born in Calgary, and during the war worked in Ottawa and then moved to Edmonton, where she met and marriage Fred Rayment. They lived for five years in Lethbridge, Alta. and then moved to St. John`s, Nfld. where they spent 38 years and finally they retired to Leduc in 1994. Peggy was a long time supporter and member of the Unitarian Service Committee in St. John`s. Peggy is survived by her husband and two sons, Michael and David; also by her sister Evelyn Bye (Marshall); grandnephew Justin Kohls; her niece Carol Elias (John) and their children; her brother Gerald (Jennie) and their son Geoffry (Jill) and family and daughter Lori. Peggy will also be missed by members of her husband`s family, Joyce Vandermeer, Hugh (Elsie), Ken (Audrey), Tom (Shirl), Fay Borg (Alan) and their respective families. A memorial service will be held at St. Paul`s Anglican Church, 4416 - 50th Street, Leduc, Alta. on Tuesday, June 4, at 2 p.m. followed by a reception in the Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, any donations should be made to the Alzheimer`s Society.
DROVER, Lenzie Enid (nee Cluett) - passed away peacefully in the presence of her daughter, son and daughter-in-law on June 2, 2002 at Sunnybrook Women`s College Hospital, Toronto, ON. Lenzie was in her 88th year and is predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Peter Drover, February 26, 1998. Lenzie was born in Garnish on July 28, 1914 and lived in Portugal Cove for over 63 years where she was an active and loved member of the community. She will truly be missed. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her daughter Angela A. Pfeiffer (Carl), San Antonio, Texas; son James E. Drover and daughter-in-law Margaret Drover, Portugal Cove; grandchildren: Mark Adamson, Dallas, Texas, Nancy Marcus (Craig), Oxnard, California, Jennifer Drover (David Mattinen), Toronto, ON, Janice Drover, Toronto, ON; great-grandchildren: Jack and Peter Marcus. She is also survived by her sisters: Flora Sissons (Bart), Los Angeles, California, Susie Day, Garnish, Joyce Mitchell (Warrick), Boston, Massachusetts, and her brother Ernest Cluett (Bertha), Garnish. Also mourning her loss is a large circle of relatives and friends, both in Canada and in the United States. The family will receive visitors at Barrett`s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Wednesday and Thursday, June 5 and 6 from 2- 4 p.m. and 7- 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at St. Lawrence Anglican Church, Portugal Cove on Friday, June 7, 2002 at 2:30 p.m. After the graveside service, a reception celebrating her life will be held at the St. Lawrence Anglican Church Hall. MACLEAN, Allan - Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre on Monday, June 3, 2002, of Cape Broyle, in his 69th year. Predeceased by his parents John and Kathleen MacLean. Survived by her husband, Ken, her son, Rick, of Houston, B.C. and her sister, Marjorie Riggs of Ottawa. Predeceased by son, Shawn, who passed away in 1997; parents Aloysius Farrell and Laura (Giovannini); brothers Aubrey, Howard, Cecil, and Gordon; sisters Gertrude and Marguerite. THOMSON, William J. (Bill) - World War II Veteran, Royal Canadian Navy, passed peacefully away in St. Thomas, Ontario on April 3, 2002, age 77. Predeceased by his daughter Roberta Louise in 1954. Left with loving memories his wife Mary (Grouchy); daughter, Dr. Debra Ann of Denver, Colorado; three sisters: Jeanne (Mrs. Selby Parsons of Ottawa), Bette (Mrs. Peter Summers), Shirley (Mrs. Frank Armstrong), both of St. John`s; sister-in-law Joyce Grouchy (Timothy), Lancaster, Pennsylvania and many nieces, nephews and friends. ELLARD, Peter Joseph - On the evening of Oct. 4, 2001, Peter, a devoted and caring husband, father and brother, surrounded by his loving family passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre. Peter was 57. After a long and courageous battle one journey has ended and another has begun. He now walks with the Lord and is embraced into the arms of his predeceased parents James F. Ellard (Oct. 7, 1983) and mother, Margaret M. (Kavanagh) Ellard (Oct. 9, 1998). Leaving to mourn his beloved wife Marion (Burry) of twenty-eight years and their daughters: Lori, Stephanie, Colleen and Holly. Also mourning the loss of a dear brother, James, sister-in-law Sharon and their children Kimberly and Jason. Peter will be forever in our hearts. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. After years of loyal and dedicated service at the Hoyles Escasoni Complex, St. John`s Memorial Stadium and the Hillview Lodge, Peter will be remembered by all his co-workers.
