It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Lucy at Hillsdale Estates on Saturday February 4, 2006, in her 84th year. Beloved wife of John Prabucki. Dear mother of Barbara, George, Teresa, and Jeannie. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Bonnie, Julie, Grace, Jocelyn, Ashley, Amanda, Melissa and great grandchildren Kevin, Daniel, Adam and Lauren. Rested at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME LTD., 124 King Street East, Oshawa with Mass of Christian Burial at St. Hedwig s Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday February 7, 2006 at 10 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated. Visitation was held on Monday from 7-9 p.m.

Peacefully at Lakeridge Health Corp.-Oshawa on Saturday February 4th, 2006 at the age of 74. Beloved husband of Halina Skomra of 41 years. Loving father of Thomas and his wife Cindy and Lisa Balling and her husband Frank. Dear brother of Wanda Zupchyk, Anna Gratkowski, Janina Brigman and her husband Leon and Kasmir Rowny and his wife Margaret. Lovingly remembered by his granddaughters Amanda and Kristyn. He will be sadly missed by his family in Poland. passed away peacefully in her sleep at Thorntonview Long Term Care, Oshawa on Saturday February 4, 2006 in her 83rd year. Dearly loved wife for 55 years of Martin. Much loved mother of Mary and her husband Herb, Andy and his wife Brenda, Bets and her husband Joe and Frank and his wife Gail. Oma of Sam (Jackie), Ben, Jason, Kelly, Jennifer, Kristi, Corey and Victoria. Survived by her brother Jan, and sisters Frances, Jo, Corry, Willy and Mary. Predeceased by brother Harry. Resting at MEMORIAL CHAPEL BROOKLIN, 79 Baldwin Street Brooklin Village, Whitby from 5-9 p.m. Monday. Then to Holy Family Catholic Church, Whitby for mass of Christian Burial Tuesday morning February 7th at 12:30 p.m. Cremation to follow. Memorial donations may be directed to St. Leo Catholic Church, "Building Fund" and would be appreciated by the family.

BIRIUKOWICZ, Julia
(de domo Tomicka) Born on the 21st of May 1917 in Rozprza, Poland, passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health - Oshawa on February the 3rd, 2006. Survived by her son John and his wife Anna, their two daughters, Natalia and Monika and her loving family in Poland and France. Dearest mother, beloved grandmother and cherished sister, she will be forever missed. According to her wishes, she will be cremated. Peacefully, on Friday February 3, 2006 at Hillsdale Manor, Oshawa at the age of 91. Beloved wife of the late Howard Oke. Loving mother of Garry (Linda) Oke, Deborah (Mrs.Gordon Perks) both of Oshawa. Dear grandmother of Kim, Steve and Jimmy Oke, Courtney and Allison Perks. Great grandmother of Holden Gorobets. Resting at McINTOSH-ANDERSON FUNERAL HOME (905-433-5558). Upon request of Edith there will be no public visitation and a private family service will be held. Interment will take place at Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens. SMYKAL, Anthony (Tony) Francis
May 28, 1917 February 3, 2006 (WWII Veteran, Retired General Motors after 38 years of Service and a Lifelong Member of the Canadian Corps Unit 42, 2nd Field Company RCE) On February 3, 2006 surrounded by his family, Anthony (Tony) Smykal passed away after a brief illness in his 89th year. Tony was the son of the late Frank & Maria Smykal. He was married to his beloved wife Ethel (Petrie) for over 68 years. He is sadly missed by his two daughters; Marie (Ed) Mazurkiewich and Fran (Gerry) Johnston. He will always be cherished by his 4 grandchildren; Shelley (Rob) Hilditch, Theresa (Steve) Sincich, Jay (Michelle) Johnston, and Angie Mazurkiewich. He was such a special Grampy to his 5 great grandchildren; Casey Hilditch, Calvin, Katelyn and Kristen Sincich and Kyle Bollers. Dear brother in law of Doris Vancott. A wonderful man who fought with dignity a courageous battle with cancer. Bob Leal passed away at Lakeridge Health-Bowmanville on Wednesday, February 1st, 2006 at the age of 64 years. Loving husband and best friend of Barbara for 40 years. Adored father of Kathy Leal of Courtice and Greg Leal and his wife Denise of Belleville. Cherished Grandpa of Avery, Keegan, Cameron and Cple Leal. Bob will be missed by his loyal companion Chelsea . Dear son of Mrs. Eileen Witt of Peterborough. Predeceased by his father Beverly (Bing) Leal and his stepfather Sid Witt. Fondly remembered by his father-in-law Ted McComb Sr. and his late mother-in-law Joan, and special brother-in-law to Ted McComb Jr. and his wife Merrill. Bob will also be missed by his nephews Justin and Matt, his many friends and family members. Bob was an avid golfer and was active in coaching hockey and baseball all his life. He retired from General Motors after 33 years of service.
