Keith Alderton, in his 82nd. year, dearly beloved husband of Edna Eaton. Loving father of Elizabeth Alderton and Stephen Bryn Alderton and his wife Brenda all of Oshawa. Owner of Oshawa Golf Repair. Retired Ambulance attendant. Born In London, England. passed away peacefully at home on June 5 2007 after a courageous battle with Lung Cancer. Dearly loved husband of Mary Bebbington; Loving father of Brad Bebbington and wife Lynn grandchildren Allan and Katherine. Laura and Dennis Hiscock; Granddaughters Elizabeth, Tricia, great grand daughter Kayla. Survived by his daughter Jackie and husband Bruce and grandson Jacob; Daughter Dina of England. Survived by brother and sister Sid and Hilda of England. Missed by Cheryl & Tom and on-line friends. George & Jean Fordham and Carol & John Ronson of Oshawa. Loving father of Shonagh Leonard and step father of Jay and Tracey and their families. Dear brother of Ronald (Susan), Stewart (Dot), Melvin (Linda), Keith (Margaret), Valerie and Francis. Grandfather of Shyvon Leonard, Emily Buma, Shurice Brewster, William Brewster and Sasha Brewster. Great grandfather to Trinity Leonard. James will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. HARRIS, Frank (Francis) Granger
March 6, 1928 - June 4, 2007 WWII Veteran - Royal Canadian Navy (1944-1947) Canadian Army (1950-1953 & 1957-1960), Canadian Militia - Sgt. at Arms/Rifle Instructor Fort York Rangers (1960-1978), Standing Member - Royal Canadian Legion, Br. 419, Port Perry (1967-2007) After a brief and courageous battle with heart & lung disease Frank peacefully left our presence on Tuesday, June 5 at 11:57 a.m., his family was at his bedside. Frank was born and raised in East York/Scarborough where he resided from his birth until 1967. From 1967 - 2006 he primarily resided in the Port Perry area. Frank was the first of five children born to the late John Dickinson Harris (1906-1939) & Mae Isobel Granger (1908-1947). He is predeceased by cherished brothers John Elgin (1929-2002) & James Ross (1931-1992), his second wife June Margaret (Dudley) Harris (1929-2004), mother to his son James Francis, and his one true love in this life, Margery Bernice McKibbon (1925-2003). Frank leaves behind his most dearly beloved sister and latter life care giver, Margaret Ann (Peggy) Hopkinson (Barry) of Barrie, and a brother, Frederick William (Sandra) of Hamilton. Dearest inspirational & guiding father to James Francis (Frances Ann), father to Vanessa Mae, loving grandfather of Tammy Lynn, Paul William and Alexander James. Great-grandfather to Madison Ivy and Godfather of Karin. Frank will be respectfully remembered by his five nephews, five nieces and over 15 great nephews/nieces. He will also be fondly & affectionately remembered by frequent visitor & first cousin Carla Salvador and our devoted family friend Anne Monteath. Most loved and cherished uncle & frequent mentor to nephews Stephen Granger Harris (Josie) and Frederick Joseph (Joe) Harris. Frank also acted as a respected father figure to many young people during his time. In this light he shall be very affectionately remembered by Carol Bacon (Keith) of Greenbank and Robert Mazurek (Patricia) of Newmarket. Frank's presence will be truly missed and very fondly remembered by the entire McKibbon family (Gord, Gary, Greg, Ron & all of their spouses/children), Lois Webster and her daughter Ellen & all of the friends and neighbours that knew him well in Scugog Point, Prince Albert & Port Perry. He will surely be most respectfully recanted and often times quoted by "The Boys" and staff he met with every weekday at the Port Perry Tim Hortons. Frank was unique in many mannerisms & a pillar of strength in all ways; right until the end. His ever present sense of humour, his loyalty to friends & family, his guidance & his innate wisdom will be sorely missed by all of his family, extended family, friends and all of those who came into contact with him during his almost 80 year presence on this earth. There are too many to count. Memorial Services to be held on Saturday, June 23, 2007 from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at "Grandview Farm", 15390 Bathurst Street, King City (Aurora). LAKAS, Nicholas George
passed away quietly in his sleep Monday, June 4th, 2007 at the George Hees Veterans Home in Toronto at the age of 91 years. Born in Oshawa on January 23rd, 1916, he and his brothers Gus, Jimmy and Philip owned two long time popular landmarks, the Victory Billiards and Lakas Lunch where he, his father George and his brothers served 4 generations of Oshawa citizens breakfast, lunch, and dinner until the early 80’s when they retired. A Naval veteran of World War II, he was an active life long member of the Oshawa Navy Club and the Oshawa Legion where he spent many of his retirement years engaged in social activities. Nick was always engaged in city life and will always be remembered for his hearty “hello” and the many stories he loved to share with several thousand people he graciously served coffee to throughout his life. In his silent way, he volunteered to give his life in Naval service in World War II and returned to Oshawa to raise his family. He was a true son of the city of Oshawa in every possible way and was proud to be so. He will be remembered by his children George (Cathy), Tasso, Maria, and Julia (John) Paulino. Dear grandfather of Nicholas, Stephen, Jamee-Lee, Ashleigh, Nicole, Sarah and Kirstyn. Loving brother of Gus. Will be missed by his long time companion Lillian Harrison. Will also be missed by Koula Lakas and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his granddaughter Pamela and brothers Jimmy, Philip and Harry. SARGINSON, Marian Nicol
passed away June 4th, 2007 in her 77th year. Marian is predeceased by her devoted husband Bob. She was the much loved mother of Steven Sarginson (Creston, BC), Ruth Coburn and Jim (Oshawa), Bruce Sarginson (Omemee) and Heather Tingley (Peterborough). Cherished grandmother of Jessica, Jeremy and Robbie Coburn (Oshawa). Also survived by her sister and best friend Esther Gilders (Peterborough). While raising her four children, Marian returned to college to pursue a career in Social Work. She was the Executive Director of Big Brothers, and the first Peterborough area coordinator for the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Her many hours of volunteer community service resulted in Marian receiving the YWCA Woman of the Year award in 1982. Marian pursued many hobbies including sewing, knitting, quilting and crafts and many of us received the benefits of her many talents and generosity. The family wishes to thank the staff at Sunnycrest Nursing Home in Whitby for their care and compassion for Marian in her later stages with Lewy Body Disease (a form of Parkinson’s Disease). At Marian’s request there will be no visitation or service. Her wish was for those who knew her to donate two hours of their time to a charity of their choice.
