Eykelbosh, Charles (Frank) B: November 3, 1933, passed away February 12, 2003 in Kelowna. Frank is survived by his loving wife Ina, Mother Margerie Eykelbosh, brother Albert Eykelbosh, daughter Kim (Gerald) Poitras, sons, Stephen (Siegrun) Eykelbosh, and Jeffrey (Cyndi) Eykelbosh. Grandfather to Danee, Derek, Alexa, Jesse, Jeramy, Christopher and Stephanie. Great Grandfather to Logan. Frank was predeceased by his father Charles Eykelbosh, his brothers Tom, Don, and Ron. Frank will best be remembered for his courage to live life to its fullest despite his disabilities. His humor and illuminating smile will be missed by all that knew him. Frank, have you heard the one about ...... You will be missed by all of your relatives and friends. A memorial service officiated by Reverend Richard Moffat, will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2003 at 2:00 pm at St. David's Presbyterian Church, 271 Glenmore Road, Kelowna, BC. FIEDLER, EMMANUEL (MANNY): went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 11, 2003 at the age of 87. He is survived and will be greatly missed by his loving family: daughter Grace Egeland of Kelowna; three sons Gerald (Arlene) of Bellevue, AB, Rod (Rene) of Lindale, Texas, Brian (Terri) of Westbank; 7 grandchildren: Darcy, Denise, Carrie, Michelle, Mark, Jason, David; 14 great grandchildren; three brothers, Ted Fiedler (Rhoda) of Vancouver, Alvin Fiedler (Doreen) of Mission, BC and Fred Fiedler of Bowden, AB; two sisters, Elsie Wirsche (Dan) of Harlingen, Texas, Ruth Neufeld of Vernon, BC; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife Maria in 2001; two sisters, Bertha and Olga; two brothers, Gustav and Julius; daughter-in-law Barb and grandson Jeff. Friends wishing to pay their respects may do so on Sunday, February 16th from 7:00 to 8:00 pm at the Chapel of Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 17th at 11:00 am at the Kelowna Alliance Church, 2091 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC with Reverend Leon Throness officiating. Hammer, Shirley Katheryn: went to where the sun keeps shining and the weather suits her clothes, on Feb 7/ 03. Survived by her sister Jeanne Joughin; her brother James Hammer, her three nieces; Cathryn McIntosh, Barbara Joughin, and Donna Ward. She was a much loved Auntie Shirley to Aislinn & Cameron, Dan and Simon, Elizabeth and Thomas and Kayla. Shirley, your playful and creative spirit will be remembered always. No services at this time. HOULE, LEO of Vernon, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 8th, 2003 at the age of 55 years. Hugo, Anna born on March 22, 1908 in Adlhausen, Germany passed away on February 11, 2003 in The Sutherland Hills Rest Home. Predeceased by her husband Frank in 1960. Survived by her daughter Evelyn (Guy) Gagnon, nephews: Max in Germany, John in Regina and niece Marille in Germany and their families. Frank and Anna owned and operated the Maple Leaf Bakery in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan for 25 years. In 1960 they relocated to Kelowna, B.C. The family wish to thank the staff at Sutherland Hills Rest Home for their tremendous care given to Anna. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of First Memorial Funeral Services, 1211 Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna. Leys, Dorathy: passed away peacefully at Cottonwoods Extended Care on February 12, 2003 after a brief illness at the age of 74 years. Predeceased by her husband Douglas. Prosser, Arthur L.H.: passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 11, 2003 at the age of 71 years. MILLER, PHILIPP passed away Friday February 14, 2003 at the age of 65. Paulina Theresa Bailey (Polly) Nee Schwab: passed away at Brookhaven, January 20, 2003 after a long battle with Cancer. Born November 30, 1928 in Scott, Saskatchewan, she is survived by her daughter Barbara Bassett (Robert), and grandchildren: Robbie, Carlie & Craig, of Westbank, and son Gordon (Gayle) and grandchildren: Leigha, Dyan Kauppi (Mikko) & Crystal, all of Langley, B.C. Raised in Tramping Lake, Saskatchewan, she marriage Gillis Henry Bailey in 1948, and lived in Kelowna until 1956 when the family moved to Burnaby. In 1971, she and husband Gillis moved to Wells, B.C. and ran the Hub's Motel until she retired in 1991, moving to Westbank to live with daughter Barbara and family. Polly loved her children, grandchildren and their many friends. She was a member and past President of the Legion in Wells, B.C. Polly was a seamstress, an excellent bookkeeper and business manager. In her teenage years she was an accomplished gymnast doing Adagio with her brothers Joe and Alan. Services to be held February 22, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Westbank. Donations gratefully received in Paulina's name in lieu of flowers by the Cancer Center for the Southern Interior on Royal Avenue, Kelowna. The family wish to thank: Westside Medical Clinic, Drs. Shawn Martin, David Edwards, Israel Mohammed and Alan Hignell, the staff at KGH, Cottonwoods Douglas Fir ward, and Brookhaven B ward. All our wonderful friends and family for the loving care they gave to Polly. She will be dearly missed by all of us.
