Thompson, Maurice Ronald (Bud): died on March 3rd, 2003 in Kelowna and was born July 28th, 1921 in Kelowna. Predeceased by his father John Clockey (Wid) Thompson and his mother Mildred Thompson (Warwood), also predeceased by son Garry; daughters Colleen and Carla; brothers Harold and Carl; grand daughter Kathy and step father Arthur Warwood. Bud is survived by his wife Mary; three sons: Bruce (Denice), Don and Jim; five grandchildren: Leann (Cory) Miller, Gary Jr. (Wendy) Thompson, Lisa Thompson, Keith Thompson and Calvin Friesen; two great grandchildren: Coralie and Devon Miller; daughter-in-law Bonnie Thompson and also many sisters, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and also his long time companion and dear friend Helen Leitch. Bud's first love was his family and he was also an avid sportsman, fisherman, hunter and trap shooter. He was a life time member of the Kelowna Trap Shooting Club winning many awards and trophies. A viewing will be held from the Chapel of First Memorial Funeral Services, 1211 Sutherland Ave. on Friday, March 7th, 2003 between 2:00p.m. and 3:00p.m. A Memorial Service will be held from the Chapel of First Memorial Funeral Services on Saturday, March 8th, 2003 at 11:00a.m. In lieu of flowers, friends who so wish may make memorial donations to the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation (Palliative Care Unit) or the Central Okanagan Hospice Society in memory of Bud. BROCHU, GERTRUDE (TRUDY) passed away suddenly on March 5th 2003 at the age of 84 years. She is predeceased by her husband Joseph. Trudy was born in Claybank, SK and homesteaded in Arbourfield and Choiceland, SK. Retired to Ontario and later B.C. where she enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, quilting, painting, extensive travel, church devotion and activities Sadly missed by her 10 children, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, relatives and friends. Funeral mass was held at Immaculate Conception Church on Saturday, March 8th. Memorial donations may be made in her name to a local church. The family wish to extend gratitude to everyone who helped out in any way to ease her passing and to make the family welcome and comfortable during their stay in Kelowna.

KUZMUK, WILLIAM 'BILL' On Saturday March 8th, retired R.C.M.P. Staff Sgt. William 'Bill' Kuzmuk of Oliver, B.C. passed away peacefully at the age of 70 years. Survived by his loving family, including wife Winnie, son Bill Jr. (Michele) and grandchildren Brodie and Leah, daughter Patti, sister Pear (Bill), brother John (Jean), sister Anne (Tony) Huculak as well as many nieces and nephews. Born in Lamont, Alberta on June 23, 1932, he enlisted in the R.C.M.P. in 1951, serving proudly until 1979. His initial posting was in Saskatchewan followed by the N.W.T. and B.C. He will be remembered for always giving much more than he ever asked for, his willingness to lend a hand, and his wonderful sense of humour. He will be sadly missed by his many friends and loved ones. A service of remembrance will be held on Wednesday March 12, 2003 at 1:30 P.M. from the chapel of Graham Funeral Home. Interment of the urn to follow in The Oliver Municipal Cemetery. A reception will be held at the Cherry Grove Estates Community Hall following the Interment. NESBITT, ALLAN CHARLES: passed away at K.G.H. on March 9, 2003 at the age of 77 years, after a long, courageous struggle with cancer. Allan had an enormous love of the land and in turn was a great farmer. When he bought Happy Valley Coin Laundry in 1967, he enjoyed meeting people and supplying the best service available. He had a story for everyone. He is survived by his loving family: wife, Ruth of 56 years; children, Michael, Audrey (Jim) Lee, Susan, Shirley (Chris) MacDonald; granddaughters, Joyanna (Chris) Pitman, Janice Lee; great grandchildren, Aislyn, Nathan and Jakob. An Interment service will be held at a later date, when he returns home to Lashburn, Saskatchewan. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Palliative Care Program, c/o K.G.H. SIEGRIST, WILLIAM JOHN: passed away peacefully on March 09, 2003 at the age of 103 years. He is survived by his loving family: sons; Jack (Ruth) and Bob (Marilynn), daughters; Audrey (Ken) Harton and Eunice (John) Martens, 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and one brother, Norman. Willy was predeceased by his first wife L. May in 1988, his second wife Ebba in 1996, his oldest son Murray in 2002 and 12 of his 13 siblings. BELLEMARE, BETTY: passed away on March 8, 2003, in the Kelowna General Hospital, at the age of 66 years. Betty will be lovingly remembered by her family; 2 sons; Gordon (De Ann) Webster of Winnipeg and Marcel (Shona) Bellemare of Kelowna, 5 grandchildren; Alicia and Kyle Webster and Michael, Jacob, Isaac Belemare, 5 brothers; Pete, Melvin, John, Jake and David Heide, and 5 sisters Mary, Kay, Sue, Viv and Emma. Betty was predeceased by her sister Anne and brother George. Betty was a long time resident of Peachland and Kelowna, who worked as a cook most of her life. She was especially well known during the 20 years she cooked at the O So Good Restaurant in Peachland. Betty was a very special person whose greatest love was her grandchildren. BOND, GLADYS went to be with the Lord on March 11, 2003 at the age of 84.
