PROUDFOOT, DAVID F. passed away at home on May 25, 2003 at the age of 72. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Dorothy; two brothers and one sister. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 28th at 2:00 pm at St. George's Anglican Church, 3690 Brown Road, Westbank, BC with Reverend Ken Watts officiating. STANBROOK, PATRICIA GAIL went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 23, 2003 at the age of 51, after courageous battles with cancer. She is survived by her loving husband Tom; two daughters: Jaime (Derek) Greenslade and their daughter Arianna of Lloydminster, AB; Carrie (Dan) Armstrong and their daughter Kailey of Kelowna; her parents Jim and Grace Wallace of Medicine Hat; brother Gary Wallace of Regina; mother-in-law June (Bob) Foulkes of White Rock; step father-in-law Walter (Joyce) Baragon of Langley; sister-in-laws: Sylvia Rippel and her children: Nicole and Dallas of Kelowna; June (Dennis) Long and their children: Tracy, Todd, Julie of Cloverdale, BC; Terry (Gary) Finegan and their children: Dan and Greg of Los Osos, California; Janice (Bill) Lettues and their son Randy of North Sydney, NS and Ellen Baragon of Vancouver. Predeceased by her brother-in-law Larry Rippel. Gail was born in Wilkie, SK on September 14, 1951, moved to Vancouver and became a nurse. Later she settled in Lloydmister, AB where her and Tom started a successful Pipe Line Company 'Silverdale Welding', which they eventually sold and moved to Kelowna. Gail joined Beta Sigma Phi in 1976 in Fort Nelson, BC where she met many wonderful lifelong friends. Gail was an angel in life and has gone to be an angel with the Lord. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 26th at 1:30 pm at First United Church, 721 Bernard Avenue, Kelowna, BC with David B. Martyn officiating. McJannet, DOUGLAS 'GRANT' passed away peacefully May 24, 2003 at Hospice House, Vernon at age 59 yrs. Grant McJannet was born in Melita Manitoba and raised in Winnipeg. He started his working career at 10 years old in the Market Gardens in St. Germaine where he earned .25 per hour. That led him to taking Chartered Accountancy right after graduating high school. He was soon hired by the Federal Government and retired in 1994. He then moved to Vernon from Edmonton with his wife Margaret and daughter Melanie 'Annie' and started working as a Mortgage broker but soon went back to his real love -auditing- with the Provincial Government in Kelowna where he stayed until his illness. Dearly beloved husband of Mysie 'Margaret' of Vernon. Also dearly missed by daughter, Melanie 'Annie' McJannet at home. Very much beloved father to daughters, Susan (Bart) Klein, Wetaskiwin, Alta., Leanne McJannet, Edmonton and also remembered by their Mother, Leslie Klone, Wetaskiwin and stepmother Catherine McDonald, Victoria. Stepdaughters, Sarah Stern, Vernon, Mary Stern, Tokyo. Stepsons, Perren Stern, Tokyo, David 'Amos' Stern, Edmonton. DUNLOP, GRACE VIOLET: June 20, 1909 - May 17, 2003. After a lengthy and courageous battle with Diabetes, Grace Dunlop passed away at Pine Grove Lodge, Kamloops, BC. Born in Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her husband Ross, son Earl and numerous brothers and sisters. Grace is survived by sons Peter, Herb (Shirley), step-daughter Ruth (Jack), seven grand children and two great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews in BC, Ontario and California. While intensely private and caring by nature, she had her best times while with family and spent many hours knitting and crocheting items for others. The family extends a special thank you to all the staff at Pine Grove Lodge, who did so much to make her comfortable while in their care, particularly in the last few months. A graveside service will be held at the Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery, 1991 Bernard Ave. at 2:00 p.m. May 30, 2003 with a reception to follow. Garrett, Marion Sarah: of Kelowna, passed away in the Cottonwoods Extended Care Complex on Tuesday, May 27th, 2003 at the age of 68 years. Survived by her loving husband Bob of 37 years, seven children: Ron (Linda) Willford; Sandra (Alan) Little; Karen Nadurak (Mark); Pattie (John) Dunseith; Raymond Willford; Vicki Ferguson (Mike); Rob (Lianne) Garrett, thirteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren, brother Robert Settle and sister Florence Grundy. A Memorial Service will be held from the Chapel of First Memorial Funeral Services, 1211 Sutherland Avenue on Friday, May 30th, 2003 at 10:00 A.M. MURRAY, SAMUEL: 83 of Westbank, died peacefully at Kelowna General Hospital on May 29, 2003. Sam was born in Saltcoats, Ayrshire, Scotland on July 29, 1919. He will be remembered for his service to his country as a member of the Royal Maine Commandos in Britain, earning the Burma Star for his courageous efforts in battle. Sam will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 57 years Sadie, his daughter Jadine Leclaire, and son Rick, and his grandchildren Andrea and Chis Leclaire and Sheenah Murray, as well as his sister Millacent Buckley and her husband Charlie of Victoria. A memorial service will be held at the Clubhouse of Sunshine Village, 2330 Butt Road, Westbank, BC on Tuesday, June 3, 2003 at 2:00 pm with Reverend Joe Price presiding. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation to the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation Cancer Care Fund, 2268 Pandosy Street, Kelowna, BC V1Y 9Z9. NICHOLSON, YVONNE MURIEL (GILMORE): On Thursday, May 29, 2003 at the age of 90, Yvonne Nicholson passed away at Calvary Place. Mom was born on August 17, 1912 in Shellbrooke, Saskatchewan, the youngest daughter of Agnes and Thomas Gilmore. She is survived by her daughter Peggy (Dean Whitbread) of Winnipeg, daughter Kathleen Holliday (Tim Ell) of Calgary; grandchildren Darrin (Joy) Whitbread of Calgary, Darcy Whitbread (Peter Routsis) and great-granddaughters Brianne & Jessica of Winnipeg, Danielle (Billy) Puddicombe and great-granddaughter Abigail of Winnipeg, Jennifer Holliday of Calgary, and Coulter Holliday of Calgary; as well as her sister-in-law Pat Gilmore of Flin Flon, sister-in-law Irene Nicholson of Saskatoon; and many nieces and nephews. We will all miss you, Mom! She was predeceased by her husband, Cecil 'Nick' Nicholson on July 18, 1969 and by her brothers Watson and Cyril 'Bud' Gilmore, sister-in-law Betty Gilmore and her dearly beloved sister, Gertie McDonald and brother-in-law Earl (Mac) McDonald. Thank you so much to the WONDERFUL staff on the second floor of Calvary Place who so gently and tenderly cared for Mom. TOPP, LEE: passed away suddenly on Friday, May 30, 2003 at the age of 55. He is survived by his loving family: daughter Marilee Topp of Saskatoon, SK; son Michael Topp of Okotoks, AB; granddaughter Coralee; mother Valeria Topp of Kelowna; sister Karen Naumann (Klaus) of Calgary, AB and their children: Kyle and Kimberly; and many dear friends. Lee was predeceased by his father Lynwood. Lee was an avid golfer, played baseball and will be remembered for his great sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by all. HILTZ, LINDA: It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of my Mother, my sister & my daughter Linda on May 27, 2003 at the age of 46. Hubbard, Donald Charles: Born March 19, 1917 in Kelowna, passed away in Kelowna General Hospital on June 1, 2003 at the age of 86 years. Survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Violet; sons: Wayne of Vancouver, Michael (Trudy) of Kelowna; two grandchildren: Dean (Stacey) of Kelowna, Trina (Michio) of Osaka, Japan; seven great-grandchildren; brother Phil (Joyce) of Kamloops; sisters-in-law Helen of Penticton and Colleen of Vernon. Several nieces, nephews and cousins. Don worked in the electrical business for over 40 years, was an avid fisherman, loved the outdoors and traveled extensively throughout BC. KROCK, DUANE DERYLE: passed away peacefully in Cottonwoods Douglas Fir Unit on June 3rd, 2003 after a courageous battle with cancer. Duane was predeceased by his wife Joan in 1974. He leaves behind his son Terry, his daughter Twyla, son-in-law Bryan ad his pride and joy, his grandson Owen. Duane was also predeceased by two of his five brothers. He is survived by his brothers Floyd (Elaine) in Cayley, Gerry of Calgary, Allan (Shirley) of Berrien Springs, MI, and one sister Lori (Garry) of White Rock. Of his 34 years in Kelowna, Duane was well known by numerous people that he met throughout his work as a truck driver. He will be sadly missed. Many thanks to all the caring staff at Douglas Fir and to Dr. Pollock. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 6th, 2003 at 10:00 A.M. from St. Michael and All Angels Cathedral, 608 Sutherland Ave. Interment will follow in the Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery.
