Belinda Joy Beal
March 4, 1955 - February 7, 2001
The death of Belinda Beal, age 45 of Midgic occurred at the Moncton City Hospital on Wednesday, February 7, 2001.
Born in Sackville she was a daughter of John and Hazel (Carter) Beal.
Belinda was an employee of Lutes Mountain Tire, she was previously employed with Air Canada and OK Tire as well as Mount Allison University.
Belinda will be greatly missed by her maternal grandmother, Pansy Carter, Midgic, her parents John and Hazel (Carter) Beal, a son Jay Ryan, Moncton, a special friend Stan Sears, Midgic, a brother, Ricky (Trudy) Beal, Midgic and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by an infant sister, Shelley.
The remains have been forwarded for cremation. Belinda's family will receive friends during a time of visitation at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (364-1300) on Saturday, February 10, 2001 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, February 11, 2001 at 2 PM, Pastor David Roy officiating. Burial in the Midgic Cemetery in the spring. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

Pearl Bernice McBride
February 6, 2001
The death of Pearl McBride, age 88, of Sackville occurred at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, February 6, 2001.
Born in Sackville she was a daughter of the Late Edmund and Mabel (Crossman) Tingley.
Starting her working career as a nurses aid at Mount Allison University she worked in Sackville during the 40's. She was a church organist at Lakeburn United Church during the 50's and 60's. After marrying Raymond McBride in 1967 she co-operated a ranch in Canmore, Alta and operated Trail Rides until her husband died in 1979. Following his death she retired to Sackville. She was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Sackville, a member of the Sackville Senior Citizen's Club, and the Sackville Citizen's Glee Club.
Pearl will be sadly missed by 2 sons; Stephen (Betty) Bainbridge of Chester, NS, and Roddy (Georgina) Bainbridge of Dieppe, NB, 1 daughter; Mona Johnson of Sackville, NB, 2 brothers; Lawrence Tingley of Barrie, ON, and Austin (Ann) Tingley of Peoria, Arizona, two half-sisters Bertha Tingley of Amherst, and Violet Wilkie of Peterborough, ON, 10 Grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was predeceased by her first husband Ralph Bainbridge in 1957 and her second husband, Raymond McBride in 1979.
The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St, Sackville, NB (364-1300) with visiting hours Friday from 7 to 9 PM. The funeral will be held from the St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Sackville on Saturday, February 10, 2001 at 11 AM, Rev. Ruth Houtby officiating. Burial in the Sackville Cemetery in the spring. Donations to the Canadian Diabetic Association or charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.

Eileen Rogerson
August 23, 2001
The death of Eileen Rogerson, age 85, widow of David Rogerson, of Baie Verte, NB occurred at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Thursday, August 23, 2001.
Born in Tidnish, NB she was a daughter of the Late Edward and Annie (Kirby) Clark.
During World War II, she served with the RCAF (Women's Division) in Canada, she was a member of the Sackville Legion Branch #26. Eileen was a member of the Fort Monckton Chapter of the Eastern Star, the Baie Verte Senior Citizens, and St. James Presbyterian Church, Port Elgin.
She is survived by daughters Nettie (Roland) Wells and Patricia (Roger) Ward both of Sackville, a son James (Debbie) Rogerson of Baie Verte , 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Eileen was predeceased by her husband David and a daughter Corinne Wells.
The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 3 West Main St., Port Elgin (364-1300) with visiting hours Saturday, August 25 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM The funeral service will be held Sunday, August 26th at 2PM, Rev. Ruth Houtby officiating. Burial will take place in the Fernwood Cemetery, Port Elgin. Memorial services will be held Saturday evening by the Fort Monckton Eastern Star at 7:00 and the Sackville Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion at 7:30.

Minnie Allen
August 15, 2001
The death of Minnie Allen, age 104, widow of Herman Allen, of Bayfield, NB, occurred at her home on Wednesday, August 15, 2001.
Born in Anderson Settlement on January 2, 1897, she was a daughter of the Late Robert and Phoebe (Oulton) Cadman.
She was a member of East Westmorland Senior Citizen's Club and a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Cape Tormentine Legion. She was a former member of the Ruby Rebecca Lodge
Mrs. Allen is survived by 3 sisters; Dorothy Calanan, Fredericton, NB, Anne Alger, Bear Lake, BC, Jessie Alder, Anderson Settlement, NB, 2 granddaughters; Carolyn Boutilier and Rocksey (Myles) Dean, both of Bayfield, 5 Great Grandchildren, 3 Great Great Grandchildren , a son-in-law Alden Phinney and numerous Nieces and Nephews.
She was predeceased by a son Arnold in 1945, a daughter Ina in 1971, and her husband Herman in 1972.
The remains are resting at the Bayfield United Church with visitation Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will be held at the Bayfield United Church on Saturday, August 18, 2001 at 1 PM, Rev. Carolyn Byers officiating. Burial in the Bayfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. The family thanks you for not using scented products at the church.

Clifford M. Allen
August 2, 2001
The death of Professor Clifford M. Allen of Sackville occurred in Moncton City Hospital on Thursday, August 2, 2001 at 73 years of age.
Born in Winnipeg, MB, he was a son of the Late Claude and Bertha (Womersley) Allen .
Clifford dedicated his life to his family and teaching, through the classroom and Scouting. He was honoured by Scouts Canada as a recipient of the Silver Acorn and Bar for especially distinguished service. He was presented the Herbert and Leota Tucker Award in 1987 for excellence in teaching at Mount Allison University. He also hosted a Folk Music program on the local community radio station, CHMA.
He will be sadly missed and always remembered by his wife the former Jean Atkinson of Sackville, three sons Ian , Robert and Liam (Andrea McLellan), all of Sackville, 1 granddaughter Lauren of Sackville, 1 sister Mary (Douglas) Armstrong of Edmonton, AB, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (364-1300) with visitation Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will be held Sunday, August 5, 2001 at 2 PM. Burial will follow in the Sackville Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Sackville Memorial Hospital, Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Mary MacKenzie
September 9, 2001
The death of Mary MacKenzie, age 76, of Dorchester occurred at the Moncton City Hospital on Sunday, September 9, 2001 following a brief illness.
A homemaker and mother Mary enjoyed gardening and was an avid quilter. She was a member of the Dorchester Baptist Church.
Mary will be sadly missed by 6 sons, Jack (Barb) O'Brien, Dennis O'Brien and Jeffrey MacKenzie, all of Dorchester, David (Wendy) O'Brien and Manning O'Brien, both of Sackville and Kevin MacKenzie, Toronto, 2 daughters, Candice (Mike) Mollins, Ammon, NB and Heather (Reg) Richard, Sackville, a brother Alex Robichaud, Moncton, 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Twice married Mary was predeceased by husbands, Jack O'Brien in 1958 and Joseph MacKenzie in 1994, a grandchild Gerry and a half-brother, Ralph.
Mary's remains have been forwarded for cremation, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at the Dorchester Baptist Church, Dorchester on Wednesday, September 12, 2001 at 2 PM, Rev. Rick Marsters officiating. Burial in the Dorchester Cemetery. Arrangements in care of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (364-1300).

Thelma Larsen
September 7, 2001
The death of Thelma Larsen, age 77, of Port Elgin, occurred suddenly at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Friday, September 7, 2001.
Born in Port Elgin, she was a daughter of the Late Floyd and Harriett (Spence) Silliker.
A member of the St. James Presbyterian Church, Port Elgin, she enjoyed her role as a mother, grandmother and great grandmother and her hobby of knitting.
Thelma will be sadly missed by her husband of 58 years, Lawrence, Port Elgin, 5 daughters, Sherry (Malcolm) Trenholm, Belleville, ON., Linda (John) Oulton and Deborah (Richard) Leblanc, both of Baie Verte, Susan (Stephen) Legere, Amherst, and Shannon (Don) Larsen, Markham, ON., 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by 3 brothers, Roy, Charlie and Russell, a sister Marion, and a granddaughter, Lisa.
The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 3 West Main St., Port Elgin (364-1300) with visiting hours Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, September 9, 2001 at 2 PM, Rev. Ruth Houtby officiating. Harley Clinton Hart
September 17, 2001
The death of Harley Hart, age 84 of Sackville occurred at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Monday, Sept. 17, 2001.
Born in Eston SK, he was a son of the Late Abraham and Anna (Wallace) Hart.
Harley was a veteran of World War II, having served with the South Saskatchewan Regiment in England and Continental Europe. He was a member of the Sackville Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. A chef, he worked at Mount Allison University for 28 years and was formerly employed with the Post Office in Sackville.
Harley will be sadly missed by his daughter, Linda (Allan) Steele, Sussex, a sister Kathleen (Peter) Leigh-Mossley, New Market, ON , special friend Pat Skinner, Amherst and will be affectionately remembered as "DEE" by granddaughter, Shannon, grandsons Ryan and Stephen and great grandchildren, Andrew, Evan and Brooklyn, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, the former Molly Hicks in 1994, and by brothers, Wallace and Kenneth and sisters Annie and Myra.
The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (364-1300) with visitation Wednesday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, September 20, 2001 at 2 PM, Rev. Barry Todd officiating. Burial in the Midgic Cemetery. The Sackville Branch # 26 of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a memorial service at the funeral home Wednesday at 7:30 PM.

Nita H. Cadman
February 9, 1936 - September 1, 2001
The death of Nita Cadman, age 65 of Aulac occurred at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Saturday.
Born in Sackville she was a daughter of the Late Robert and Gladys (Carter) Tingley.
Nita was a mother, and will be sadly missed by sons, Darrell and Kirby (Pam) both of Aulac and Randy (Gayle), Dorchester, 3 daughters, Lois (Roger) Landry, Petit Cap, Kathy (Vernon) Elliott, Mt. Uniacke, NS and Susan (Mike) Gallant, Sackville, 2 brothers, Wendell Tingley, Aulac and Stuart Tingley, Shediac, a sister Karen (George) Randt, Cleveland, Ohio, 15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, son-in-law Don Wood, Point de Bute and daughter-in-law, Deanna Cadman, Dorchester. She was predeceased by her husband Robert in 1988, a daughter, Linda, a son, Boyd, a brother Bobby, infant sister Lois and an infant granddaughter, Amanda.
The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (364-1300) with visitation on Sunday from 7 to 9 PM and Tuesday from 1 PM until the time of the memorial service. There will be no visitation Monday. The memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 4, 2001 at 2 PM, Rev. Kevin Stockall officiating. Burial in the Point de Bute Cemetery. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

Jean Cadman
The death of Jean Cadman, age 97, of Cadman's Corner, occurred at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton, on Monday, May 26, 2003.
Born in Chapman's Corner, she was a daughter of the late Augustus and Ida (McGill) Johnston.
Jean devoted her life to her family and to nursing, practicing as an RN for over 40 years. She was a member of the East Westmorland Senior Citizen's Club and the Murray Corner United Church.
She is survived by 1 daughter; Mrs. Loella (Lyman) Murray, Cadman's Corner), 1 son; Hollie (Clotilde), Toronto, ON and 3 granddaughters; Monique (Gregory) Cple, Halifax, Jacqueline (Carl) James, and Annette (James) Colborn both of Toronto, 6 great grandchildren, Erica and Seth Cple, Gradyon, Nolan, Ethan and Griffin James, nieces Luella (Robert) Cadman-Beverage, Diane, Lisa and Karen Beverage and nephew Robert Cadman-Beverage. She was predeceased by her husband, Alton Cadman in 1984. The last surviving member of her immediate family, she was also predeceased by her brothers Earl, Basil and Hollie, a sister Vesta Rayworth, nieces Joan Smith and Betty Whittle.
The remains have been forwarded for cremation. A graveside service will take place at a later date. Arrangements are in care of Jones Funeral Home, Port Elgin, NB (364-1300). Those wishing to make a donation may do so to the Murray Corner Pioneer Cemetery, or the charity of your choice.

Hartman Owen Atkinson
September 28, 2001
The death of Hartman Atkinson, age 92, occurred at the Drew Nursing Home on Friday, September 28, 2001.
Born in Sackville, he was a son of the Late Fred and Lalia (Tower) Atkinson
A retired carpenter, Hartman was a school bus driver, and formerly drove Transport for Atlantic Wholesalers.
He is survived by 1 son; Percy (Alice), West Sackville, NB, 2 daughters; Audrey Bulmer, Sackville, and Shirley, Toronto, On, 1 brother, Joe (Pauline), Sackville, 1 sister, Vida Trenholm, Kentucky, 11 grandchildren, Gordon, Debbie, Angela, Shawn, Stephen ,Pam, Alan, Paul, April, Peter and Scott and numerous great grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers, Fred and Robert and a sister Netta.
At Hartman's request a graveside service will be held at the Westcock Cemetery on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001 at 11 AM. There will be no visitation or memorial service. Arrangements in care of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, NB (364-1300)

Marceline Arsenault
April 19, 1918 - September 24, 2001
It is with great sadness the we announce the death of our dear sister and aunt Marceline Arsenaualt, age 83, of Port Elgin. She passed away at the Dr. George DuMont Hospital on Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Port Elgin she was a daughter of the Late Jacques and Eugenie (Leger) Arsenault.
A former employee of the federal government, she worked on the navy dockyards in Halifax for over 30 years. She was a member of St. Clement's Church, Port Elgin as well as the Baie Verte and East Westmorland Seniors. She was an avid music lover, having sung in the church choir for many years.
Marceline will be sadly missed by her brother Leo Arsenault, Shediac, 2 sisters, Elizabeth Rogers, and Ada Leblanc, both of Port Elgin and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Alfred, Edward, Romeo and Adrice and sisters, Eva and Emerise.
The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 3 West Main St., Port Elgin (364-1300) with visitation Tuesday and Wednesday from 7 to 9 PM. A prayer service will be held Wednesday at 8:30 at the funeral home. The funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday, Sept. 27 at 11:00 AM at St. Clement's Church, Port Elgin, Father Phil Mulligan officiating. A time of tea and fellowship will follow in the St. Clements Church Hall. Burial in the Cap Pele Cemetery.

Horace Carter Allen
September 21, 2001
The death of Horace Carter Allen, age 72 of Sarnia occurred suddenly at his home on Friday, September 21, 2001.
Born in Little Shemogue he was a son of the Late Carter and Essie Allen.
Horace retired from the Carpenters Local 1256 after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Peoples Church, London Line.
Dear brother of Lois Herbison of Sarnia, Dorothy Ogden of Nova Scotia and Roger and his wife Ann Allen of Sarnia. Horace will be sadly missed by Lois and Barry, Erica and many other close nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Oscar, Victor and Malcolm and a sister Phylis.
The remains are resting at Jones Funeral Home, Port Elgin on Wednesday, September 26, 2001, from 1 to 2 pm, followed by the funeral service at 2 pm. Burial in the Fernwood Cemetery, Port Elgin.

Delphine (Tinny) Zinck
October 29, 2001
The sudden death of Delphine (Tinny) Zinck, age 75 , widow of Allen Zinck, of Saint John and Port Elgin, NB, occurred on Monday, October 29, 2001 at her home in Saint John.
Born in Port Elgin, she was a daughter of the Late Alphie and Mary Ella (Forest) Legere.
She was a member of St. Rose de Lima Church and St. Clement's Church, Port Elgin.
She is survived by two brothers Gerald (Ada) of Port Elgin and Cyril (Pauline) of Moncton; 2 sisters , Elsie MacDonald of Port Elgin and Amelia Leger of Vancouver, BC . She was predeceased by her husband Allen Zinck and by brothers, Fred, George and Albert and sisters, Katherine, Beatrice and Rosie.
The remains are resting at Jones Funeral Home, 3 West Main St., Port Elgin (364-1300). Visitation will take place Thursday from 7 to 9 and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Funeral mass will be held at St. Clement's Roman Catholic Church, Port Elgin on Saturday, November 3, 2001 at 11 am., followed by a reception in the church hall. Burial in the Parish Cemetery. All are invited to a prayer vigil and Eulogy on Friday at 8:30 PM.

Reginald Voaden
Died peacefully at his daughter's home in Sackville, NB on October 10, 2001, aged 70. He was on holiday from his home in Devon, England.
Beloved husband of Olive, much loved Dad of Trevor (Helen), Jane (Stephen), Paul ( Sarah), and Robbie, adored Grandad of Carly, Dean, Andrew, Lisa, Amy, Robert, and Megan, brother of Arch, and much loved friend of many.
Memorial service to be held Sunday 14th October at Upper Sackville United Church at 2 PM. Please stay for refreshments. Donations if desired to the Sackville Extramural Program or Sackville VON Palliative Care Volunteer Programs.

Ronald (Ronnie) Stephens
May 31, 1949 - October 14, 2001
The death of Ronald (Ronnie) Stephens, age 52 , of Sackville, occurred suddenly at his home on Sunday, October 14, 2001.
Born in Sackville he was a son of the Late Hugh and Phyllis (Buck) Stephens.
Ronald was an employee of Mount Allison University and the Hong Kong Kitchen.
He is survived by three brothers: Gary(Hazel) of Sackville, Richard and Robert(Cathy Hannah) of Amherst, NS, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents,a brother Roy and a sister Mary.
The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (364-1300) from where the funeral service will be held Thursday, October 18, 2001 at 2 PM, Rev. Dr. Jamie Gripton officiating. Friends are invited for visitation which will be held Thursday from 1 PM until the time of the service. Burial in the Sackville Cemetery.

Alberta Grace (Leaman) (Hickman) Gibbard
September 10, 1919 - October 16, 2001
Alberta Gibbard, 82, of Dorchester passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2001, at Sackville Memorial Hospital
Born September 10, 1919, at Colpitts Settlement, "Bert" was the daughter of the late George and Gertrude (Magee) Leaman. She was an active member of Trinity Anglican Church and the Shepody IODE. For a number of years she was an insurance agent as well as a homemaker. "Bert" actively supported various organizations in her community, including the Eastern Star, Girl Guides, Keillor House Museum and Dorchester schools.
"Bert will be sadly missed by her daughter, Judith (Cple) Morison, Oakville, ON and her son, Robert (Marlene) Hickman of Dorchester as well as her grandchildren Christopher and Catherine Lutes, Jill and Alison Hickman, one sister-in-law Ida Leaman and nieces and nephews. Bert was predeceased by her first husband, Robert W. Hickman and her second husband John R. Gibbard, as well as her sisters Evelyn Hopper, Susan Colpitts and Hilda Atkinson, brothers William and Leonard.
The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, (364-1300) with visitation Wednesday and Thursday from 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will be held at Trinity Anglican Church, Dorchester on Friday, October 19, at 2 PM, Rev. Kevin Stockall officiating. Burial in the Dorchester Cemetery. Donations to the Sackville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary or a charity of the donor's choice.
