Her first husband Joe Boulet was killed in the war, and her second, Bill Robinson died in 1954. Raising her four children Jane, Margaret, Patsy and Peter was her primary occupation for many years. Then in retirement she moved to New Brunswick and took advantage of her skills to teach crochetting and knitting - she remarked once that she thought she had taught just about every woman in Westmorland County. She also put those skills to work for the Hospital Auxiliary and other charities.
Beth loved music, reading, birdwatching and her garden but her main focus in recent years was her grandchildren, Mathew, Christoper, Megan, Michael, Rachel and David, and took great delight in their visits, phone calls, letters and invitations to lunch at Mel's.
Beth liked to give people things - if you admired something she had, she offered it to you. She liked even more to make people smile. Every conversation, every trip downtown, was a chance to try her luck - and she usually succeeded her goal.
