HEALEY, Clifford On August 5, 2004, Clifford Healey of Edmonton passed away at the age of 87 years. He is survived by his loving family; son, Richard (Joan) Healey and daughter, Gail (Harry) Green; grandchildren, Jody and Burke Perry, Tim and Pam Healey and Lorne, Susan and James Green; great-grandchildren, Bradley, Jillian, Morgan, Joshua, Madison and Jessica; sister, Eunice Wilson. IVES, Marion (nee Taylor) Marion was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on February 28, 1924 and passed away peacefully in Edmonton, Alberta on August 9, 2004. Marion will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband William of Edmonton, daughters; Bonnie Ives of Abbotsford, BC, Marilyn Ives of Calgary and Janet (Andrew) Gibbs of McBride, BC, two grandchildren Christopher and Jennifer, two sisters Connie (Robert) Daily of Winnipeg and Grace McKelvey of Winnipeg as well as many good friends. LEHANKY, Barbara (nee Baker) It is with great sadness that our family announces the peaceful passing of our mother Barbara Lehanky, on Sunday, August 8, 2004, at the age of 63 years. Barb will be lovingly remembered by her son Brent (Loriann), daughter Loree, grandson Jacob and former husband Paul. Barb also leaves her brother Bert (Heidi), sister-in-law Connie and many other family members and close friends. Barb was predeceased by her mother and father, Fran and Bill, brother Jim and brother Alex. Mom was talented at so many things, she loved to cook, crochet, play bridge and tend to her flowers. She enjoyed traveling and very much treasured the many summers spent with her family and friends at Seba Beach. She embraced life to the fullest and even in the last year, with her health failing, she always had a smile on her face and an extremely positive attitude. She was a wonderful Mother and friend. We were blessed to know and love her, she will be missed each and every day. LUCICH, Rod (Milorad Vaslav Nevar) Rod (Milorad Vaslav Nevar) Lucich, born July 7, 1946 in Vancouver, passed away in the early hours of August 7, 2004 in Edmonton after a prolonged illness. He is survived by two daughters, Michelle (Mishah) Nicoli of Edmonton, Nicolle of Vancouver, as well as his two sons, Russell Jeffrey (R.J.) McCaw and Caltrin, both of Edmonton. He is also survived by his brother, Dorio Lucich, and his wife Sonja Sajlo-Lucich both from Berlin, Germany. His passing will also be mourned by his nieces, Marisa and Tania Lucich of Vancouver, Nina Lucich of Toronto and Marta Lina Olynyk-Lucich of Montreal; and his nephew, Gregor Lucich of Berlin, Germany. He was predeceased by his beloved mother Elizaveta Maria Lucich on September 4, 1999 and his father, Theodore (Ted) Nicolain Lucich in February 1966. Many relatives and friends will find the world diminished by his passing. Rod was raised near Montreal, Canada until 13 years of age, when his family moved to Edmonton. The Alberta capital has been his home ever since. His early career was as a musician, playing guitar in many bands in Edmonton and Western Canada with trips to Eastern Canada for short periods. He started a second career in his 30's as a salesman and was employed by Crosstown Motors for the best part of that career over the past 20 years. He had many awards to his credit and was recognized by his colleagues for his assiduous work and good contacts with his customers. Rod's love of life, especially flamenco and blues music, art, literature and all things beautiful will be remembered by all who knew him. MACKENZIE, Helen (nee Reinbold) On Monday, August 9, 2004, Helen Mackenzie of Vegreville, AB passed away at the age of 70 years after fighting a very courageous battle with cancer. PARENT, Charles Alfred 1921 - 2004 On August 8, 2004, Charlie Parent of Edmonton, passed away at the age of 83 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Ruth; daughter Patricia and Bob; son Peter and Mary; grandchildren Ian, Scott, Jeff, Greg, Steven and Danielle. WOOD, Robert Hill July 1, 1917 - August 8, 2004 Robert Hill (Chips) Wood passed away quietly at home in Edmonton on Sunday, August 8. He is survived by his brother Douglas and wife Betty of Auckland, New Zealand; son Brian and wife Cathy; three daughters: Marion, and husband Gary Kozie; Jocelyn Churchill and husband David; and Kathryn. Chips is also survived by six grandchildren; one great-grandson; nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law. Chips came to Canada in 1942 as a member of the Royal New Zealand Air Force. He married Inez Norem of Edmonton in 1944 and after a short stay in New Zealand, the Wood family returned to Canada in 1948 and spent most of their lives in Edmonton. EASTON, John Raymond "Ray" Raymond Easton passed away at St. Mary's Hospital on August 29, 2004 at the age of 90 years. Ray was born in Thornton, Ontario to John and Mary Easton on January 4, 1914. He joined the Air Force in 1940, spending many years traveling throughout Canada before retiring to Camrose in 1963. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Dorothy, his three children Barb (John) Tsetso, Don (Rhonda), and Marilyn (Leo) MacDonald, nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and sister-in-law Erna Bowen. Roy is survived by three daughters, Anne (Ken), Claire (Milan), and Judy (Clyde), and a son Rod (Judith), six grandchildren, Bryan, Mark, Rob, Jo-Anne, Michael, and Stephen, and five great grandchildren. Roy was predeceased by his wife Muriel in 1999, and a granddaughter Margo in 1997. Roy had a long and memorable career as a teacher and principal and enjoyed carpentry in his after hours. He was devoted to his wife Muriel, and they took pride in their family. Funeral Service will be held Friday September 3, at 2:30 p.m. at Dayspring Presbyterian Church. GAGLIARDI, Giuseppe Eugenio (Joe) 1923 - 2004 Giuseppe Eugenio (Joe) Gagliardi, beloved husband of Emilia of Calgary, passed away peacefully, with his daughter Nella at his side, at the Beverly Centre, on Monday, August 30, 2004 at the age of 81 years. Joe was born in Malito Cosenza, Italy on August 3, 1923. He married Emilia in 1948. Joe immigrated to Alberta in 1951 and started his employment with CNR where he worked for twenty-nine years. He and Emilia spent thirty-seven years in Edmonton and then moved to Calgary in 1996. Giuseppe and Emilia loved to travel in their RV throughout North America. They later became "Snowbirds" and travelled to their condo in Mesa, AZ. When he was not travelling, Joe enjoyed going to Garage Sales, adding to his collection of treasures. Besides his loving wife of 55 years, Giuseppe is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Anna and Keith Clyburn of Victoria, BC and Nella and Franco Benacchio of Calgary; a granddaughter Daniella who was the light of his life; and family in Italy. Giuseppe was predeceased by his parents, Anna and Antonio; and brother Vincenzo. GLEDHILL, Eileen Marie On August 24th 2004, Eileen passed away at the age of 87 years. Eileen leaves to mourn her daughter Isabelle and son-in-law Dennis Nash of Sherwood Park; one sister Janet (Peter) Layne; niece Hannah Layne; nephew Duncan (Julie Murray) Layne in England; and niece Michelle (Edward) Jelliman and her family Liam and Shanen in South Africa; cousins Joan (David) Evans, Shelagh (Malcolm) Morriss and her family Patrick and Christrohm in England. Eileen was predeceased by her devoted husband of 53 years Fred, an infant son Andrew Timothy, her brother Bert and her parents Mary and Bertie Gollin. Eileen was born and raised in Derbyshire, England. She worked at Robinsons of Chesterfield before marrying. Later she became an orthopaedic appliance fitter. Eileen was an excellent cook and cake decorator developing this talent into a thriving catering business. In 1989 Eileen and Fred immigrated to Canada and enjoyed their retirement traveling. Eileen was an active member of the Women's Institute in England and Canada for 69 years and of the Chesterfield Flower Club. Special thanks go to Dr. Michael Chiu, Ruth Ingles R.N., Florence Boschman and all the members of the Strathcona County Home Care Team for their support and care over the past three years. Thank you also to all the staff on Unit 51 at the Grey Nuns Community Hospital for their compassionate care during the past month. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Eileen's life will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 13 Brower Drive, Sherwood Park, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 3 with Reverend Marvin Ziprick officiating. IRWIN, Monsignor William (Bill) Order of Canada Member On Sunday, August 29, 2004, Monsignor William (Bill) Irwin of Edmonton, passed away peacefully at the age of 76 years. He is survived by nieces and nephews, Richard (Lara) Irwin, and their children Shannon ( Ryan) Soper, Bonnie and Amy; Jack (Andrea) Irwin and their children Jennifer and Allison; Jim (Shelagh) Irwin and their children Amanda and Melanie; Pattijean Watchman and her children Emily and Molly; Bill Evans, Barb Evans and Catherine Evans; as well as numerous other relatives and many dear friends. Father Bill was predeceased by his parents, Bergetta and Roy Irwin, his brother Dick Irwin and his sister-in-law Barb Irwin, as well his sister Jean Evans. Prayers will be held Sunday, September 5, 2004, 2:00 p.m., at St. Joseph Basilica, where Most Reverend Thomas Collins, Archbishop of Edmonton, will preside at a Mass of Christian Burial, followed by Interment in the Clergy plot in Holy Cross Cemetery.
