Willard Baggs

February 8, 1940 - November 16, 2005
It is with great sadness that after almost 2 years, the family of the late Willard Baggs announce that he was finally brought home, on Saturday, September 22nd, to be properly laid to rest on Tuesday, October 2nd, 2007. He leaves to mourn wife Joan of 39 years; daughter Tracy (Leslie McDonald); sons: Dean (Brenda) and Barney (Laura); two grandchildren: Michelle and Steven Baggs; sisters: Ruby (Gilbert Munden), Mary Feltham; brother James (Ann); sisters-in-law: Anne (Winter Billard), Elizabeth (Bernard Walters), Hilda (John Coleman), June (James Scott) and Ernestine Baggs; brother-in-law Garfield (Linda Durnford), as well as a wide circle of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. Willard was the son of the late James and Edith Baggs of Isle Aux Morts. He was also predeceased by mother and father-in-law Rita and Alexander Durnford; brother Calman and brother-in-law Jack Feltham. Visitation was held at the Holy Spirit Church in Isle Aux Morts on Monday, October 1st, from where the Funeral Service took place on Tuesday, October 2nd at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. D. Granter. Interment followed at Hillside Haven Cemetery. Many thanks to Fillatre s Funeral Home, Port Aux Basques and Rev. D. Granter. Special thank-you to Danny Lawrence and Barry Skinner of Isle Aux Morts, for bringing him home to us.

Hannah Genge
Anchor Point, NL
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Hannah Genge announce her passing on Friday, September 21st, 2007 at the John M. Gray Centre in St. Anthony at the age of 94 years. Leaving to mourn: her children Maisie, Pauline, Virture Mitchelmore, Sheila (Sean) Fitzpatrick, Calvin (Eliza) Genge, Chesley, Ewrin (Dorcas) Genge, Barbara Loree, Irene (Norman) Folich and Mary (Gideon) Applin; 23 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband George, grandchildren Scott Genge and Kevin Loree, and parents William and Elizabeth Chambers. The family received frineds at St. Matthew s Anglican Church in Anchor Point on Saturday and Sunday from where the funeral service took place on Monday, September 24th at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jean Hicks officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery in Anchor Point. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre s Funeral Home, Port au Choix.

IVY BLANCHE PUMPHREY (nee Gillard)
Corner Brook, NL
January 17th, 1920 - October 3rd, 2007
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ivy Blanche Pumphrey announce her passing on Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 87 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children: Gerard (Verna), Sharon (Rendell) Foote, Judy (Morgan) Bonnell, Ellen (Archie) Wright, Alice Pumphrey (Edgar Ereaut), Kevin (Joan), Barbara (Larry) Ciancone, Brenda (David) Stewart, Sheila (Peter) Mills, 19 grandchildren: Brian, Connie, Randy, Darren, Glenn, Gregory, Karen, Craig, Jennifer, Angela, Joanne, Sheila, Susan, Neala, Paul, Charlene, Joel, Brad, Stacy and 17 great-grandchildren, sister Marie Dennis, Paris, Ontario, brothers: Rex Gillard, Upper Gullies and Donald Gillard, Corner Brook. As well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Jeremiah Jerry , 2007, son Terry, 1999 and granddaughter Pamela Kelly, 2001. Friends may visit Fillatre s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark s Avenue on Thursday from the hours of 7-9 PM and Friday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 6th at 10:30 AM from the Cathedral of the Most Holy Redeemer, Mount Bernard Avenue with Father Ambrose Hynes officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Cathedral of the Most Holy Redeemer Memorial Fund.

Marjorie M. O Neil (Nee Abbott)
Port au Port, NL
September 24, 1915 - October 2, 2007
It is with deep sadness that the family of the late Marjorie O Neil announce her peaceful passing on Tuesday, October 2nd, 2007 at the Bay St. George Long Term Care Centre in Stephenville Crossing at the age of 92 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her son Michael, Corner Brook; grandsons: David (Lori), Toronto, ON, Michael Jr. (Tanya), Paul and Kenny, all of St. John s; great-grand-daughter Molly; sister Maureen Moore, Knoxville, Tennessee; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Brendan O Neil (1947); parents William and Rita Abbott (nee Burke); sister Mary Chesnut; brothers: Fintan, Albert and Jack. Cremation has taken place at Humber Valley Crematorium in Pasadena. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church in Port au Port West on Monday, October 15th at 2:00 p.m. Father Terry Boland officiating. Interment will follow at Maria Regina Parish Cemetery, Port au Port East. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Our Lady of Mercy Church Restoration Fund, c/o Pat Snow P.O. CHARLOTTE DAVIS (nee Elliott)
Corner Brook, NL
1924-2007
Passed peacefully away at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on October 3, 2007 at the age of 82 years. Predeceased by her husband Charles in 1972, her parents, four sisters and three brothers. Left to mourn her son Dr. Jerome Davis (Charmayne), daughters: Shirley Hynes (Ernie), Cathy Herbert (Peter), Fort McMurray, Joan Whelan (Gerry), St. John s, Maureen (With whom she resided). Grandchildren: Connie Keough (Jim), Karen and Jane Davis, Holly and Liam Whelan, Lindsay and Christopher Herbert. Also left to mourn her twin sister Catherine Elliott, Marystown. Cremation has taken place at Humber Valley Crematorium. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 8th at 10:30 AM from All Hallows Roman Catholic Church, Humber Road. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Intensive Care Unit of Western Memorial Regional Hospital.

ELLEN JEAN HYNES

March 6th, 1921 - October 5th, 2007
Passed peacefully away on Friday, October 5th, 2007, Ellen Jean Hynes at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook surrounded by family at the age of 86 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children: Robert Barney (Joan), Clayton (Theresa), Hilda (Wilson) Galliott, John (Wanda), Carol (George) Meadus and Myrt (Derm) Traverse, grandson Brad (Wendy) Traverse, 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, brothers: Dave (Nina) Curtis and Ron Payne, step-sister Nonia Hutchings, special niece Hilda (Fred) Mitchell, sisters-in-law: Reda Payne, Joan Curtis and Stella Curtis, special friend Mary MacDonald. As well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband George, sister Kay, brothers Joe, Gord and Jack. Passed peacefully away at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, on Monday, October 8th, 2007, Alice Bridgette Doucette in her 94th year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her children: Sylvia Kennedy (Bill), Terry (Yvonne), Andre (Linda); grandchildren: Jennifer Kennedy-Whalen (Woody), Shane Kennedy, Michelle Toutant (Marc), John (Jennifer), John Hemeon (Michelle), Andrea, Michael (Lexi); great-grandchildren: Candace Collett, Jacob Goosney, Tristan and Sarah Doucette; sister: Doreen Butler (Al); brother: Jim McAllister (Judy); sisters-in-law: Annie McAllister and Margaret McAllister; special care giver: Marilyn Drover and life long friend Loretta (Sis) Pilgrim, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, whose visits and phone calls greatly enhanced her life,other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents James and Frances McAllister; husband: Victor; infant daughter: Mary, sisters: Sade Handrigan, Marie Chucoine, Veronica McAllister, Margaret McCarthy, Mary McAllister, Imelda (Mac) McAllister; brothers: Bill, Jack, Lawrence and Fred McAllister. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Dillon Elliott announce his passing on Thursday, October 4th, 2007 at the Ottawa Heart Institute, at the age of 20 years. He will be sadly missed by his parents: Morgan & Lois Elliott; sister Brittany; grandparents: Horace & Hazel Allingham and Faye & Amos Elliott, as well as a large circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. Melsie Roberts
Forteau, NL
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Melsie Roberts announce her passing at the Long Term Care Unit in Forteau on Friday, September 28th, 2007 at the age of 98 years. Leaving to mourn with fond memories sons: William (Sophie), George (Jenista), Warren (Marie) and Harold; daughter Marie Hancock (Leonard); 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren, and a large circle of other family and friends. She was predeceased by husband Maxwell Roberts, daughter Hazel and grand-daughter Lisa Hancock. Visitation took place at the Gospel Hall in English Point on Friday and Saturday, from where the funeral service took place on Sunday, September 30th at 2:00 p.m. with Mr. Francis Barney and Mr. Doug Flynn officiating. Interment followed at the Church Cemetery in Forteau. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre s Funeral Home, L Anse au Loup.

Ralph was the son of Alice and the late Ralph Croucher (Sr.) of Burnt Islands.
