Paul's working years were spent in the woods raising cattle, pigs and hens, and farming the land he loved so well. Although he never married, he shared his home with others and liked company, but was also a solitary man who enjoyed time alone. As the years passed and he was no longer able to work fulltime, he continued to cut his own firewood, garden and tend to the land as long as he was able. In his later years, he had to physically slow down but that never stopped his quiet and steady love of nature from the changes of every season to the smallest activity of a deer or a rabbit. Throughout his life, he shared his gratitude for each day lived, his acceptance of others, his quiet faith and his sense of humor. We are better people for having had him in our lives and we are all diminished by his departure.
