THOMPSON, Edith (nee Alexander). On November 29, 2001 at the Palliative Care Unit, Royal Victoria Hospital, Montreal in her seventy-sixth year. Adored mother of Gordon (Betty Lamb), Jane, Christine of Australia and Catherine (Scott Waugh). Proud grandmother of fifteen, step-grandmother of two and great-grandmother of four in Sydney, Australia. Survived by her sister Nancy Sikorski and nephews David and Paul of Winnipeg. Edith battled briefly against insurmountable odds but was surrounded by her family until her passing. Of special importance to her were her cherished P.E.O. sisters in Montreal, Edmonton and Winnipeg. Private family funeral at Mount Royal Cemetery.
