Devoted husband of forty-one years to Alice Paiement (and to the late Katherine Kennedy); cherished father of Peter Andre (Beverly Sabourin), Allan (Terri Cogswell), Susan (Tim Mundy) and the late Ronald. Dear "Grandpa" to eight wonderful grandchildren. Andre will be missed by family and friends. A past president of the Optimist and Richelieu clubs of St. Lambert, as well as the St. Lambert Choral Society, Andy was deeply committed to his community. A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 12, 2001 at 1 p.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church (844 Notre Dame St., Saint-Lambert). HALL, James (Jim). passed away in the Royal Jubilee Hospital, Victoria, B.C. on November 8, 2001 in his ninety-third year. Jim was born in London, England and came to Canada in 1943. Predeceased by his wife Dorothy in 1993. Loving father of Sally (George) Turnbull and Stuart (Shirley Bellefontaine) all of Ontario; dear grandfather of Shelley (Richard) Conway and Kenneth Hall, Jill and Scott Turnbull; great-grandfather to Juliette Hall and Marlie Conway. BAKER, Mary Elizabeth (Weber). Beloved wife and best friend of Dr. Malcolm Baker, Meaford, Ontario, passed away November 11, 2001 after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. Mary is survived by her husband of over fifty-one years, Malcolm; her son John (Lornell) of Vancouver, daughters Linda (Jim) of Meaford, and Nancy (Keith) of Arnprior, Ont. In addition, Mary is survived by grandchildren Cora, Sean, Benjamin and James, and was the "dahling Gramma" of Rowan. Mary is also survived by two brothers, Dr. Bill Weber (Liz) of Park Ridge, Ill., and Richard Weber (Barbara) of Salem, Ontario, and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be fondly remembered by her friends across Canada, in Meaford, and especially in Quebec. At Mary's request, there will be no funeral. Cremation has already taken place. A memorial celebration of Mary's life will take place in Meaford in the coming spring. Memorial donations to The Victorian Order of Nurses, Grey-Bruce (Meaford) Branch, or to the Pet Trust, Ontario Veterinary College, Guelph, Ont., in Mary's name would be appreciated by the family.

MATTHEWS, Mitzi Dawn. In her seventy-fifth year. After an all-too-short remission, Mitzi re-entered hospital on Wednesday, November 7, and died the following day. She will be missed by all her friends and neighbours, and by members of the congregation at Crawford Park United Church too numerous to name. For over a year, Dr. Lian Feldman and the staff at Montreal General Hospital looked after Miss Matthews, backed by Dr. Myvan Nguyan and the people at CLSC Verdun-Cote St. Paul. The Reverend David Lefneski will conduct a service at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 15 at the Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Home, 5644, ave. Bannantyne, Verdun. The cremation will be at 3 p.m. at the crematorium in Mount Royal Park. None of us had the chance to say goodbye. SOTERAKOS, John. Peacefully passed away at the Villa Mont-Royal Nursing Home on Saturday, November 3, 2001 at the age of seventy-six. Beloved husband of Maria (nee Deligiannis). Dear father of Filitsa, Mark and Nick (Evangelia Panagiotakis). Grandfather of Soula, Michael, Mary, Maria and Irene. He also leaves behind his nephew Marco Karounis (Angie Paizis) and his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and many nieces and nephews in Greece.
