Blake Thomas Rawlyk
RAWLYK, Blake Thomas passed away on May 25th, 2003 at the age of 37. Predeceased by his mother Norma. Blake is survived by; his father Thomas; sister Pamela (Duane) Rockerbie, their children Phillip and Clifford; sister Angela (Cameron) Irvine, their children Paige and Devon and brother Craig (Thea Megas) Rawlyk. Blake was born January 29th, 1966 at Burnaby General Hospital with a birth-weight of only 2.0 LBS. Overcoming physical difficulties during his early years instilled a strong work ethic in Blake, and a confidence in his own abilities that he utilized the rest of his life. After graduation from Centennial High School in Coquitlam, Blake completed his studies in video production and worked for a period producing and editing video for community television. More recently, Blake was employed by Eagle Ridge Hospital. Truly a 24-7 man, Blake kept himself within his employment, volunteer work and his passion for the outdoors. Blake always demonstrated honesty and integrity. He was caring, loving and generous with his family and friends and will be greatly missed by his niece and nephews. Blake was an avid traveler and always returned with interesting stories about his adventures. We will miss him with great sadness. A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday May 31st, 2003 at 2 pm at Como Lake United Church, 535 Marmont Ave., Coquitlam B.C. Inquiries regarding donations to Blake s favourite charities may be made at Burquitlam Funeral Home (604)936-9987.

Kathleen Bridget McDaniel
McDANIEL- Kathleen Bridget, born in Vancouver BC on November 2, 1952, passed away suddenly on Monday May 26, 2003 at the age of 50. Predeceased by father Richard. Loved and missed by mother Marie; brothers Wayne (Jo) and Patrick; sister Lorraine (Norm), and many other relatives and friends. Kathy s greatest joy in life was being a mother to daughter Rachel (James) and son Ryan; grandmother to Breanna; and auntie to Dylan, Carley, Andrew, and Jonathon. Funeral services to be held on Tuesday, June 3rd at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph s Catholic Church, 140 Moody St., Port Moody. Reception to follow.

GASLER - Joseph Michael 'Joe' passed away on March 4, 2006 at the age of 57. Predeceased by mom and dad, Angela and John Gasler. Loving and missing him are his wife Marion Gasler; daughters, Teena, Jennifer and son-in-law Kevin; grandchildren, Nathan, Makenna, and Danielle; as well as sister Marilyn (Bill), brother John (Cathy), and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends. John is survived by daughter Joan (Ted), son Doug (Sherron), Grandchildren, Rory (Debbie), Curtis (Leisa), Wesley, Travis, Tiffany (Lee). great-grandchildren Taiyler, Quinn, Conner, Renee, Sister Marion (Hank) nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. John will be sadly missed by all. Memorial service will be held at the Burquitlam Funeral Home, 625 North Road, Coquitlam on March 17th at 3:00 pm, tea to follow. SHAW - Irene passed away peacefully on March 1, 2006 at Crossroads Hospice in Port Moody, B.C. Born in St. Boniface, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Predeceased by her husband John Shaw, her parents and her loving companion 'Mindy'. Survived and greatly missed by her six children; John (Sandi), Gerry, Linda (Richard), Teresa (Merridy), Michael (Ellan), Debi (Tom). Grandchildren; Michael (Lyse), Mark, Michael, Wendy, Jackie, David, Jessica, Amy and Sarah. Irene will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 10, 2006, at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, 828 Laval Square, Maillardville, B.C. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Crossroads Hospice.

BRIGGS - Jonathan Daniel passed away suddenly Saturday, February 25, 2006, aged 22 years. Jonathan is survived by his loving family: mother Leigh Ann (Ted) Littlewood; father Danny (Carol) Briggs; sister Laura (Jason); sisters and brothers, Marlisse (Emmett), Tracey (Bruce), Corrine, Jordan, and Devon (Sarah); and many other relatives and friends, including Eli, the family hound. SMITH - Barbara Mary (nee Rennie). Born August 19, 1937 and passed away peacefully on February 23, 2006 in the presence of her loving family. Survived by her husband Melvin of 47 years; her children, Corinne (Danny) Gilmore, Sandra (Daryl) Hislop; her grandchildren, Dean, Jason, Brett, Erin; as well as many relatives and friends. For those so desiring, donations may be made in memory of Barbara to the BC Cancer Foundation. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:30 pm on Thursday, March 2, 2006 at the Burquitlam Funeral Home, 625 North Road, Coquitlam.

John Ebbern Fenton

FENTON - John Ebbern, age 62 years, died peacefully on February 22, 2006 at the Crossroads Hospice in Port Moody. John was born in Chauvin, Alberta on June 30, 1943, and grew up in Edgerton, Alberta. He worked in Edmonton, Alberta for six years before raising a family in Lashburn, Saskatchwen and later Coquitlam, B.C. He is survived by his wife Sylvia; sons Steve and Kelly; daughter Roberta (Marcelo Machado); grandson Dylan; his mother Patricia and brothers Wayne (Janet) and Dan (Tracy); mother-in-law Florence Squires; brother-in-law Ken Brady (Kathy), nieces and nephews, extended family Bruce Steier, and many friends. John took great pride in his work and found great happiness with his friends and most of all his family. No service by request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the B.C. Cancer Agency, or the Crossroads Hospice Society.

Myrtle Stella Smithers
1927 - 2006

SMITHERS - Stella passed away after a long illness on February 21, 2006. Stella was born in St. Paul Alberta on September 29, 1927. She is predeceased by brother Cappy and sisters Pearl and Lorraine. Survived by sister Mabel and brothers Albert and John, children Donna (Bill), Dennis (Alita), Debbie (Dan) and Diane. Grandchildren Lindsey, Jessica, Nicolas, Steven, Taylor and Eric. Stella was an athlete in her youth excelling at basketball and rollerdancing. Later she bowled and golfed and became ladies captain at the Vancouver Golf Club as well as achieving golf's holy grail the fabled hole-in-one. She was an avid bridge player and loved to watch hockey and football. She loved Hawaii and enjoyed many family vacations over the years. One of her favourite things was a big family dinner especially if someone else cooked it! She relished a good laugh and was a wonderful singer. She will be remembered for her great beauty, her selflessness, generous spirit and dedication to her family. Services will be held Saturday, March 11 at 2:00 pm at Burquitlam Funeral Chapel, 625 North Road, Coquitlam. Donations to the Alzheimer's Society of B.C. would be appreciated. She will be dearly missed.
