Kimura - Tadashi passed away on March 7, 2006 at 72 years of age. He is survived by his loving wife Kazuko of 46 years; daughter Ruby (Maurice) Pagnucco; son Bob Kimura; grandchildren Brandon and Nichole; sisters Matsue (Mitsuo), Akemi (Kohshi) in Japan, Harumi (Toshiharo) in Japan; and brother Susumu (Akiko). He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm, Friday, March 24, 2006, at Burquitlam Funeral Home, 625 North Road, Coquitlam.

Mary Bertha Kathleen Boyd
1929 - 2006
BOYD - Kathleen Mary, born October 2, 1929, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2006. Predeceased by her son Brian. Survived by her children; Dorothy (John) Church, Robert Boyd, Colleen (Bob) Maitland, Kathleen (Terry) Defoe, Roland Boyd, Duane Boyd, Gordon (Kelly) Boyd, Patricia (Patrick) Fellowes, Scott (Maureen) Boyd, Jacqueline (Scott) Boyd, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Kathleen is also survived by her brother Jim (Louise) Mill and sons, and many other relatives. Our heartfelt thanks to the staff of Queens Park Care Center for the care and compassion they showed mom. There will be no service by Kathleen's request.

Dorothy Jean Fleming
1922 - 2006
FLEMING - Dorothy Jean It is with profound sadness we announce the sudden death of our beloved Dorothy on March 11, 2006. She left this life as she lived it, with grace, dignity, courage and faith. She is survived by her loving family; husband of 51 years Larry; her daughter Carole (Glen); her son Bryon (Doreen) and her beloved granddaughters Avital (Chris) Emily and also her sister Ruth, Ontario and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Walter and Robert. Dorothy was born September 29, 1922 in Sombra, Ontario, the youngest of four children. Upon graduation from Nurses College in Chatham, Ontario, she and three friends hired a car and driver and headed west to B.C. Her nursing career began at Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster and included many years on the Maternity Ward and ended with her retirement from George Derby Veterans Hospital in Burnaby. Along the way she met and married a young man in uniform and began her second but most important career as wife and mother. Dorothy's warm and generous nature and empathy for humanity led her into many community volunteer commitments such as Meals on Wheels, Crossroads Hospice Society, The Jimmy Christmas Hampers and the Burquitlam Lions Club. In 2004, the City of Coquitlam presented her with their highest honour, the Freedom Of The City Award in recognition of her years of community service. Dorothy leaves behind a very large circle of friends because she lived a very large life. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 20, 2006 at St. Andrews United Church (where she attended for several decades), 2318 St. John's Street, Port Moody. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Burquitlam Lions Club, 560 Austin Avenue, Coquitlam, B.C., V3K 3M9

Maureen Murdoch
1941 - 2006
MURDOCH - Maureen (Nana Mo), born January 25, 1941, passed away on March 12, 2006. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, but especially by her children, Dan, Tami and Stacey (Steve), grandchildren, Megan and Trevor, sister, Carolyn and brother, Bill (Bev). Please join us as we remember her on Saturday, April 22, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. Service to be held at her residence (her favourite place). MAGLIO, Joyce (nee Booth) died suddenly on March 15, 2006 in Coquitlam, BC at 85 years of age. Predeceased by her loving husband Thomas in 1997. Lovingly remembered by her three children Stephen, Nancy (Wilf) and Paul; grandsons Sean and Scott; brother Ken; cousins, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and numerous friends made throughout her life. Born in Nanaimo, BC on August 9, 1920, Joyce graduated from St. Paul s Hospital School of Nursing in 1943 and embarked on the career that she had wanted to pursue from an early age. Her work led her to Port Alice, BC, where she met her future husband Tom, with whom she lived, loved and laughed for 50 years. First and foremost a devoted wife, mother and grandmother Nana was deeply involved in her grandsons lives and very proud of them. Joyce s interests extended to the welfare of those less fortunate, compassionate treatment of animals and many charities and causes. Her strong Christian faith was her guidepost as she undertook pastoral care and related church functions. Joyce generously volunteered her time in many ways, including parent-teacher associations, political campaigns and working with handicapped children. She had an exceptional ability to make friends and engage people from all walks of life in many and varied situations. Her kind, gentle manner and genuine interest in others made them feel immediately at ease. Joyce will be remembered for her warmth and ability to extract humour from almost any situation. Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at Cariboo Hill Temple, 7195 Cariboo Rd, Burnaby. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, BC Schizophrenic Society, or the charity of your choice.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anne Wilkie at the age of 77 years at the Crossroads Hospice on March 22, 2006 surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother Alfred. Survived by her brother Jack Conley. She is loved and remembered by her husband Ed Wilkie; son Don (Barb); daughter Diane (Lee Howell); granddaughters, Kim (Mark), Kris, Vanessa; and grandson Nick. A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at 1:00 pm at the Robinson Memorial Park Cemetery followed at 2:30 pm by a Memorial Service at Northside Foursquare Church at 1460 Lansdowne Drive, Coquitlam. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gideons Bible Society at the service.

QUINLAN - Lenora Frances passed away suddenly on March 21st, 2006 on her 87th Birthday. She was predeceased by her husband Victor of over 50 years and survived by her loving family, daughter Pat (Bob) Macmillan, sons, Bill (Ritva) and Ken (Cindi) Quinlan, 7 grandchildren, Allan (Christine), Darren (Marna) and Kerri Macmillan, Kevin (Nancy) and Kristina Quinlan, Lissa Quinlan, and Jennifer (Keith) Bennett and 7 great-grandsons, Colton, Kordel, Ethan, Maxwell, Connor, Quinn and Joshua. Nora, an only child was born in Saskatchewan and will be sadly missed by her family and many friends. She was an active member of the Friendship Group and Lively Saints at All Saints Anglican Church where a service for the celebration of her life will be held on Monday, March 27th at 7405 Royal Oak Avenue, South Burnaby at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice.

The Venerable R. Stuart Faulks January 5, 1910 - March 22, 2006 We give thanks for the 96 years that Stuart Faulks was given, and the life he shared with us. Born in England he moved to Canada with parents Winnifred (Milward) and Ronald Faulks at the age of four. His early years in Alberta forged lifelong habits of hard work, frugality and enjoyment of simple pleasures. During his 71 years as an Anglican Minister, he was loved by parishioners in Alberta (Barrhead; Clandonald; Calder; St. Peter's, Edmonton) and B.C. (St. John's Central Park, Burnaby; St. David's, Powell River; B.C. coastal villages; Holy Trinity, New Westminster). Married to Isabel (Kilshaw) for 66 years until her death in 2004, he is survived by their three children Eric (Jill), Lyle (Loralee), Joyce Ganong (Gordon); 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, brother Richard (Bev) and many nieces and nephews. The Funeral will be at St. Matthew's Anglican Church, 2010 Guilford, Abbotsford at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 30th. Honouring his commitment to church and community, in lieu of flowers, please make donations to your church or charity of choice.

CARR - Rev. Arthur Drummond. Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, March 19, 1916, passed away in Vancouver, March 27, 2006 at the age of 90. Predeceased by his beloved wife Orah (2002) and his twin sister Irene (1944). Lovingly remembered by his son Terry (Janan), their children Paris (Linda Middlemass), Catherine (Matt) Braun, and great grandson Dominick; daughter Sharon (John) Fearn, their children Chad, Tyler, and Kim; son Calvin (Barbara), their children Andrea, Lance (Gabriella), and Erin; brother Douglas; many other family and friends. He was ordained in the United Church of Canada in 1943, and served churches in Alberta and BC including Cayley, Fairview, Jasper, Richmond/Brighouse, Willingdon Heights, Shiloh, Chown Memorial, and West Burnaby. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 pm, Friday, April 7, 2006 at St. Andrew's Wesley United Church at Nelson and Burrard, Vancouver. Special thanks to the staff at Cavell Gardens and St. Vincent's Langara. No flowers or donations by request.

SCANLON - Vernon Terrence Bain born April 6th, 1924. Vernon died peacefully on March 26th, 2006 with his loving wife and companion Margaret at his side, plus his own personal 'Team Scanlon' which loved and encouraged him to the end. Predeceased by his parents Dr. Patrick Augustus and Minette May, as well as by Merie. Survived by his son Ross (Debbie), daughters Pat (Chris), Tracy (Stewart), grandchildren: Brooke (Scott), great-grandchild Joel, Breanne (Andy), Natalie (James) Joshua, Jordan and Julie as well as many relatives and countless friends from Canada, U.S.A., and 'Uncle Buddy' to all in Australia and New Zealand. Verne considered every human being worthy of his respect. A genuine gentleman to his boot straps. Verne will be remembered for his love, laughter, kindness, patience, his sense of humour , zest for life but mostly his infectious smile. Special Thanks to Dr. Arthur D. Friesen and Dr. John A. PONTELLINI, Adriano - Adriano s family is sad to announce his passing on March 28, 2006. He is predeceased by brothers Alfredo (Anna) and Renzo. He is survived by his loving wife Raffela; sons Joe (Julie), Fernando, and Mario; grandsons Adriano and Angelo; and also remembered by siblings in Italy, Italia, Gianna, Toni, Bruno, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Born in Urbino, Italy on April 1, 1925, Adriano was the 1st of 3 brothers who immigrated to Canada in 1949. He made his home in Coquitlam where he met his wife of 44 years and raised their family. He worked for Canfor Mill for 35 years, retiring in 1986. Adriano loved life and lived it to its fullest. He enjoyed dancing and socializing with good food and wine. He was a proud member of the Italian Mutual Aid Society where he volunteered his time. He will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.
