Passed peacefully away in the presence of his family at the Health Sciences Complex after a short illness on Sunday, July 14th, 2002, William John Dunphy, Korean War Veteran and avid blood donor, aged 75 years.
Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 50 years, Jessie Marie (nee White); Two sons; William (Sharon), Derick (Susan) Alberta; Five daughters; Jackie Harris, Amelia Murphy (Dave), Marjorie Cormier (Yvon) New Brunswick, Darlene MacEachern (Al), Billie-Jo Dunphy (Gord); 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; Three brothers; Albert Anstey (Agnes), Tom Anstey (Bernice) and Gerald Anstey (Mary); Four Sisters; Mildred Hedderson, Grace Mercer, Marie McGuire and Gladys Noftall; Three sisters in law; Marjorie White (Ray), Jean Starkes (Charles) and Lillian Norris; very special friend Buffy and a large number of other relatives and friends.

Also leaving to mourn his loss his sister Mrs. Bertha Matthews; Brothers: James and Charles (Shirley); sister in law Audrey Smith; brother in law William Rodgers, Kitchener, Ontario; nieces, nephews, special step great grandson Larry Jr., as well as his friends at the Salvation Army, St.John's West Citadel, neighbors and friends.

Predeceased by his wife Louise (Beck) and infant son Walter; brothers: Jack, Harold, Albert, sister; Flora; step daughter Judy.
Leaving to mourn his wife Minnie; son Alex (Anna), Grand Falls-Windsor; daughter Eunice Vatcher (Robert), Montaque, P.E.I.; stepdaughter Evelyn Ploetner (Eitel); brother Ron; sister Mildred Miller; grandchildren: Jason Thistle (Heather), Penny Thistle (Tom Boone), Rob Vatcher (Mavis), Howard Vatcher (Laurie), Susan Vatcher, Tamara Vatcher (Fiancee Geoff Matheson); four step grandchildren: Susan, Rodney, Jason, and Jurgen; six great grandchildren; five step great grandchildren and a large circle of nephews, nieces, cousins and special friends at The Glenbrook Lodge.

THOMAS, Edward J. - Passed peacefully away at his residence on Wednesday, July 17, 2002, Edward J. Thomas, aged 86 years.
Predeceased by his wife Dorothy (nee King), June 23, 2002 and his sisters Ethel, Sarah and Rose.

TIZZARD, Annie Ida (nee Strange) - Passed peacefully away at St. Patrick's Mercy Home on Wednesday, July 17, 2002, Annie Ida Tizzard, in her 89th year.
She will be forever loved and missed by her family: sons David (Rita) Tizzard, Corner Brook, Bruce (Emma) Tizzard, North Sydney, NS; daughters: Dorothy (Bob) Puffer, Dearborn, Michigan, Bonnie (Ron) Brocklehurst, Judy and Nancy; 11 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren; also a large circle of other relatives and friends.

Passed peacefully away at the Dr. Leonard A. Miller Center on Tuesday, July 9, 2002 Frederick James Bursell, aged 88 years.
Member of Lodge St. Andrew #1139, member of the Scottish Rite 32 degree. Honorary member of Whiteway Lodge, St. George's Lodge, and Neptune Lodge of the Masonic Lodges of St. John's.
Predeceased by his wife Lillian (nee Stanley), January 24, 2000; parents Lucy and Sydney; step mother Janet; brothers: Sydney and Harry; sister Violet.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his son George; daughter Mary Lou Manning (Paul); loving granddaughters Renena (Shawn Joy), Halifax and Rhonda Manning; sister Olive Mercer; nieces, nephews and some very special people that he thought so much of and they of him. Passed peacefully away in his 85th year at the Miller Center on July 30, 2002, Thomas William Foote, formerly of Burin and a longtime member of the Masonic Lodge. Predeceased by his wife Nina in 1953, brother Heber, granddaughter Michelle Lieb and brother-in-law Robert Isaacs.
Left with fond and loving memories are daughter Eileen Hayes (George); sons: Chesley (Rose) Foote and Thomas (Helen) Foote; three sisters: Annie Isaacs, Eliza Abbott (Ernest) and Geraldine Sykes (Robert) of British Columbia; grandchildren: David Lieb (Lisa), Kim Dwyer (Roy), Carl, Mark, David, Stephen, and Todd as well as many nephews and nieces. He will also be remembered by a large circle of friends, the Collins family, the Abbott family, the Matthews family and the residents and staff at Ocean View Home.

Predeceased by her husband Theo in 1986. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, son Gary and daughter-in-law Gillian; three grandchildren: Jason, Stephen and Suzanne Hatcher; one sister Melba (Bill Tuff), of Corner Brook; brother Hayward Hutchings (Sadie) of Spaniard's Bay; special nephew and niece, Bill Tuff and Peggy Janes; other family members and many valued friends at St. Luke's Cottages.

Leaving with fond and loving memories her son Robin (Kay) LeDrew, Kelligrews, daughters; Claudia (Frank) O'Connor, St. John's and Angela Bishop, Oviedo, Florida; her grandchildren; Robin (Pam) Bishop, Orlando, Florida, Daniel (Janet) O'Connor, St. Phillips, Kimberly (Bill) Casey , Bedford, N.S., Christine (Carmen) Mastroianni, Ontario, Sharon (Perry) Barnes, Ontario and her eight great grandchildren, Carter and Alexander Bishop, Taylor and Morgan O'Connor, Maria and Matthew Casey, Luca Mastroianni and Alexander Barnes as well as a large circle of relatives and friends.

passed away at the Health Sciences Complex on July 14, Leslie Edwin LeDrew, veteran of the Newfoundland Ranger Force and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, formerly of Laurenceton, Notre Dame Bay, in his 89th year. Predeceased by wife Mildred Minnie (Tetford); son Roy; brothers: Garles, Lemuel and Howard; and sisters: Elizabeth and Emily.
Leaving to mourn sons, George (Linda), David (Lucelle), Bevin (Maxine), William (Florence), Lorne (Catherine), and Larry (Ruth); sisters: Ellen Snow and Edith Squires; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and special friend Evelyn Henderson.
