Orpha was Past President of the Cottom Women's Institute, South Essex District, South Western Area, Past Board of Director of the Federated Women's Institute of Ontario, member of the C.W.L. at Holy Name of Jesus Parish and an inductee to the Agricultural Hall of Fame for her work in farm safety. Orpha was founder of " Cornland Corner".

CHARLOTTE ELIZABETH OGDEN (nee MAGEE) TRUSLER on March 13th, 2001 in Sarnia. Much loved wife of John Edward Trusler. Loving mother of John (Joan), Jupiter, Florida, James (Elizabeth) Ingersoll, Harry, Manchester, N.H., Tamar (Andrew), Toronto, Richard, Sarnia, Charlotte Knight (Ross), Ottawa. Loving grandmother of Halley, Piper and Sasha, Julia and Sarah. Also survived by her brother Lawrence Magee his wife Virginia and their family of Penticton, B.C. Born in Detroit, Michigan in 1922 Charlotte grew up in the Maritimes where she attended Edgehill School for Girls, Windsor, N.S. In 1943 she joined the WRCNS and while in Halifax, N.S. met and later married her husband John. Her family will miss her love and gentleness. She was a wonderful lady, feisty too, UEL on both sides. Active with the IODE, Norman Rogers Chapter, avid quilter and devout member of St. George's Church. A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at St. George's Anglican Church. WHITMAN: BRIAN GRANVELLE PAUL - After a lengthy illness at home on Wedenesday September 26, 2001. Brian Whitman age 60 years of Hagersville. Beloved husband of Maria. Loving father of Anthony and Maria of Hagersville, David and Michelle of Burlington, Geoffrey and Melissa of Hamilton, and Brian and Mandi of Victoria, British Columbia. Proud grandpa of Zoe, Izabella, Emma, and Michael. Brother of Guy and Mary Ann of Victoria, British Columbia. Also will be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews. Brian was a retired teacher after 32 years with Hagersville Secondary School. A Memorial Service will be held at St.Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Hagersville on Saturday September 29, 2001 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Society of Ontario or the Canadian Cancer Society. The family wishes to express a heartfelt thanks to friends, colleagues, and the community for their caring support.
