BLAIS, Mary Grace (nee Leblanc) A woman of tremendous courage, beauty and determination passed away peacefully, Tuesday June 13, 2000 at the Centre Elisabeth Bruyere, Ottawa. Grace Blais age 80 years. Widow of Henri Blais. Loving and proud mother of Louise, Suzanne (Gumpert) and Pauline. Dear mother-in-law to Tony Gumpert and Guy Morazain and fond Nana of Andrea and Michael Gumpert; Sasha and Mathew Morazain. Predeceased by her brothers Rupert, Leo and Percy Leblanc and a dear friend Romeo Arsenault. Grace is cherished by many nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends from coast to coast. From her early years in a one room school house in the Gaspe, QC, Grace enjoyed a long teaching career with the Canadian Armed Forces in Bagotville, St. Hubert and Baden Baden, Germany, retiring in Ottawa and wintering in Florida. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. To her daughters, she is our woman of distinction. Special thanks to the staff and caregivers at the Pallisades Residence and the Centre Elisabeth Bruyere. Cremation. BOIVIN, Lucien (Moe) Veteran, World War II Peacefully in hospital on Thursday, June 8th, 2000, after a courageous battle with cancer, Moe Boivin, age 79. Beloved husband of Rita DeGuise. Father of Diane, Lise (Larry), Gisele (Norm), Georges (Terri), all of Ottawa. Also survived by 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends. CROOK, George William Born September 15, 1918, died Dartmouth General Hospital June 13, 2000. Son of the late George and Veda (Mills) Crook. A life-long resident of Dartmouth, he joined the Army on the 1st day of World War Two and following his discharge, worked several years for Canada Post. He joined the staff of the City of Dartmouth Engineering Department and retired after 32 years service. He was a volunteer with the Dartmouth Fire Department and was honoured on his retirement after 24 years service. He enjoyed singing and was a former member of both Christ Church and Emmanuel Anglican Choirs. Keenly interested in all sports he was an enthusiastic bowler. His main hobby was stamp collecting. Survived by Jean (Nickerson), loving wife of 52 years, son, James, Dartmouth, daughters Elizabeth (Marc Hemphill), Dartmouth and Margaret (Capt. James Simiana), Ottawa, Ontario. Predeceased by sister Grace Faulkner. Visitation at Mattatalls Funeral Home, 217 Portland St, Friday, June 16th, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Service to take place at Mattatalls on Saturday, June 17th, 2 p.m. Rev. Dennis Walsh officiating.
