Marian Hulbert Parks '24, Glendale, Calif., Sept. 3, 2000. Survivors include her daughter, Jeanne Parks Werrell '60, and her granddaughter, Linda Werrell '89. She was preceded in death by her sister, Katherine Hulbert '31.

Edna Theobald Thomas '24, Pleasant Hill, Calif., March 25. Edna worked in the accounting department of the U.S. Navy in San Francisco. Survivors include her sister, Gladys Theobald Rolfe '26.

G. Eileen Southard Crawford '26, Fredericton, New Brunswick, April 30.

Helen Hageman Downing '30, Denver, Dec. 17. Helen was with the Colorado Department of Education for 22 years. She was a member of the Barnes Society at Colorado College. Survivors include her husband, Todd.

Helen Hultman Gray '32, East Hampton, N.Y., March 25. Helen was a real estate agent. She was a member of the Barnes Society at Colorado College.

Charles Louthan '36, New Braunfels, Texas, April 2. Charles was a self-employed accountant in Denver for more than 30 years. He was active in alumni affairs and served as the Fifty Year Club's second vice president from 1987-89. Survivors include his daughter, Nancy Louthan Bryant '68, his brother and sister-in-law, Eugene '40 and Jane Braucht '41 Louthan, his sister, Eleanor Louthan Fox '44, and nieces, Susan Louthan Bilbo '64 and Shelley Fox '75.

Davis Baker '37, Wilbraham, Mass., Feb. 9. Davis was employed in the insurance industry for over 40 years. Survivors include his wife, Clarice.

Mary Gilmore Wood '37, Denver, July 9. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Lawrence.

Margaret Gammon Fosha '38, Calhan, Colo., June 25.

William French '38, Grand Junction, Colo., March 25. William worked for the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad for almost 40 years before retiring in 1980. Survivors include his wife, Alberta.

Sonya Barofsky Hemming '38, Colorado Springs, July 14. Sonya worked for 25 years as a travel agent and retired from Guide Travel in 1980. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilmer Hemming '37.

Louise Grabow Buchanan '39, Denver, Nov. 20, 2000. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Buchanan '37.

Brigitte Nelson Streeter '39, Cleveland Heights, Ohio, Jan. 24. Brigitte was a retired pediatrician. Survivors include her husband, George, and her brother, H.G. Nelson '43. She was preceded in death by her sister, Gabriele Nelson Benson '41.

Donald Autrey '40, Scottsdale, Ariz., May 27. He served in the Navy for two years prior to joining his family business, Autrey Brothers, where he served as president and C.E.O. until 1990 when they sold the business to Jostens. He established a charitable remainder trust at Colorado College, providing an endowment for the athletic department and also funding the Donald E. Autry Field designated for intramural and club sports. The field has also become a popular location for barbecues, concerts, and parties. Additionally, in memory of his first wife, Charlotte, and her love of music, he established a scholarship for outstanding students in music. Not only based on need, but also ability, intellectual promise, interest and potential in music, qualities of character, leadership, initiative, and hard work.

In addition to his three daughters, and a son, Donald is survived by his wife, Gwynne. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Charlotte Pendergrast Autrey '37. Memorial contributions may be made to the Donald E. Autrey Fund, in care of the Colorado College development office.

George Spaulding '40, Colorado Springs, May 25. George retired in 1964 after 24 years of military service with the Air Force. Survivors include his wife, Ila.

Janice Bushman Blakely '42, Colorado Springs, June 22. Janice retired as executive director of the El Paso County Health Association. Survivors include her sons, Frank '73 and Bryan, a daughter, Stacy, and her sister-in-law, Myrna Blakely McMurtry '51. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Blakely '42.

Joel Husted '42, Fort Collins, Colo., Dec. 5. Joel practiced internal medicine at Boulder Medical Center from 1950 to 1975. At the time of his retirement in 1992, he was a medical consultant for IBM in Boulder. Joel was an active member of the Colorado College Alumni Association. Survivors include his wife, Betty Gillett Husted '42.

Betty Condon Larimer '42, Colorado Springs, April 5. Betty's interests included golf, bridge, and travel. Survivors include her husband, Craig, her son, William Thompson '65, and grandson, Michael Thompson '92.

Sog Panter '42, Scottsdale, Ariz., June 29. Sog played football at Colorado College and was drafted by two professional football teams, but instead chose to fight for his country. He served in the Navy during WWII. Sog retired in 1976 after a long career in manufacturing sales. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha, and brother, John Panter '49.

Lloyd "Jack" Whetstone '42, San Diego, Calif., Oct. 19, 2001. Jack was a coach and teacher, retiring from the San Diego school system in 1985. Survivors include his wife, Alma.

Willard Madison '43, Nortonville, Kan., March 10. Willard practiced medicine in Nortonville for 35 years, from 1952-1987. Survivors include his wife, Martha Winston Madison '41, and his sister-in-law, Gene Winston Felton '37.

Jean Maxwell Wren '43, Steamboat Springs, Colo., June 4. Jean was a historian and newspaper columnist. She wrote a column, "The Way it Was," which ran every week, originally in the Steamboat Pilot and later in the Sunday Pilot & Today. Survivors include her husband, Gordon, and her cousin, Ellen Johnstone Sprague '45.

Charles Ellzey '44, Homewood, Ill., Dec. 3. Charles was a retired United Methodist Church teacher and pastor. Survivors include his wife, Erma.

Virginia Raines Ambrose '46, Littleton, Colo., March 13.

Reid Faylor '46, Nampa, Idaho, April 3. Reid was a retired dentist. Survivors include his wife, Peggy.

Glendora Hay Ulvilden '48, Middleton, Wis., Oct. 2, 2001.

John Sullivan '49, Oak Park, Ill., Nov. 21, 2001. Survivors include his wife, Jeanne Wise Sullivan '52, his sister, Patricia Sullivan '50, his six children, and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Philip Sullivan '52.

Glenn Blagg '50, Colorado Springs, April 28. Glenn was a teacher and coach. Survivors include his wife, Betty.

Daniel Quigley '50, Colorado Springs, April 21. Daniel was an attorney and was active in community and political affairs. Survivors include his wife, Stephanie.

Edwin Scott '50, Lafayette, Ore., Feb. 25. Survivors include his daughter, Deborah Scott '81.

David Hender '52, Ketchum, Idaho, March 28. David was a banker. Survivors include his wife, Ann, and brother, Eric Hender '62.

Jean Matheson Powell '52, Colorado Springs, March 31. Jean worked as a secretary for School District #11 for 17 years.

Allen Baker '53, Colorado Springs, May 9. Survivors include his wife, Dianne Ashe Baker '55.

Barbara Stock Bradley '53, Colorado Springs, July 11. Barbara was a nationally accomplished equestrienne, and was the 1950 Girl of the West at the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo. She was an active member of the Junior League of Colorado Springs, and served on numerous boards and committees. In 1997, she received the Assistance League of Colorado Springs's Silver Bell Award for her community service. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Bradley '51.

George Carter '55, Upland, Calif., May 17. Survivors include his wife, Yvette.

Joseph Cook '57, Hingham, Mass., July 28, 2001. Survivors include his wife, Joan.

Robert Yeager '58, Santa Fe, N.M., June 22. Robert was director of Asia Pacific for Rockwell, living in China, Korea, and Hong Kong. He retired to Santa Fe, N.M. in 1997. Survivors include his wife, Joanne, five children, Anne, John, Jane, Bill, and Bob, three grandchildren, niece, Jeanne Parks Werrell '60, and sister-in-law, Nancy Bryson Schlosser '49. Donations in his memory may be made to the Colorado College development office.

Charles Rhoads '59, Walkersville, Md., July 21. Charlie was a development volunteer and member of the Barnes Society at Colorado College. He was a life-income donor with funds going to the Duncan-Dingus Endowed Kresge Fund, the Lloyd E. Worner Endowed Chair in Social Sciences and Humanities, the support and maintenance for the Russell Tutt Science Center, and the Charles G. Rhoads 1959 Scholarship Fund.

Boris Tatistchaff '59, Boise, Idaho, Dec. 9. Boris was the owner of Gem State Pest Control until his retirement in 1995, when he sold the business. Survivors include his wife, Frances Chandler Tatistchaff '60.

Patricia Beaver Woodbury '61, Mission, Kan., May 7. Patricia was an accountant for the Christian Foundation for Children and Aging and a business manager for Kansas City Magazine.

Serena Hayden Camacho '62, Nottingham, N.H., May 3, 2000. Serena worked for U.P.S. Survivors include her husband, Joseph.

Robert T. Kramer '62, Colorado Springs, June 25. Robert retired after 32 years of active duty in the U.S. Air Force. Survivors include his wife, Judith Wilson Kramer '62, his daughter, Kathryn Kramer Gradia '83, and his brother, Hazen Kramer '58.

James Haley '65, Costa Mesa, Calif., May 28, 2001. James was a retired sales manager for Lenox, Inc.

Bayard Hart '65, Oklahoma City, Okla., June 30, 2001. Survivors include his wife, Nell.

Dixie McGuire '68, Colorado Springs, June 20. Dixie was a singer and actress.

Patrick Eckles '72, Dodge City, Kan., Jan. 8. Patrick was preceded in death by his father, Park Eckles '34.

David Kinsey '75, Denver, June 23. David was a business teacher at Cherry Creek High School for 24 years, where he also coached football, girls basketball, and softball. Survivors include his wife, Kristi, and sons, Cody, Jesse, and Dillon.

Jeffrey Weill '85, St. Paul, Minn., April 27. Jeff was a shareholder in the Minneapolis law firm of Halleland, Lewis, Nilan, Sipkins and Johnson, practicing complex commercial litigation. After being diagnosed with brain cancer in the fall of 2000, he continued to work while dedicating himself to a cure with the same fervor he attacked his studies and his work. This internal drive to succeed served him well all his life, as he was able to put himself through college, travel, and move ahead in his career. Jeff graduated from Colorado College magna cum laude and went on to obtain a law degree from the University of Minnesota with honors in 1989. He was an enthusiastic golfer and enjoyed summers at his lake cottage in northwest Minnesota. His wife, Andrea, and three-year-old son, Charlie, survive him. (Written by classmate Rashe Lyford '85.)

Viola Reinhart, Casper, Wyo., July 12. Viola was the administrative assistant for Colorado College presidents Louis Benezet, Lloyd Worner, and Gresham Riley. She was also the assistant for Christine Moon, dean of women. Viola retired in 1983. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lloyd E. Worner Distinguished Service Professorship, in care of the Colorado College development office. Survivors include her daughter, Karin Reinhart Short MAT '72.

John E. Robson, parent, Washington, D.C., March 20. John was nominated by President George Bush and subsequently confirmed as the president of the Export-Import Bank of the United States. His term was to have expired in Jan. 2005. John and his wife were generous benefactors to the college. They established the Matthew Stone Robson Memorial Scholarship in memory of their son who passed away in 1991. Survivors include his wife, Margaret. He was preceded in death by his son, Matthew S. Robson '85.
