John Donald Haney, Dec. 11, 2008. Don had a distinguished career as an attorney and served his community well, particularly Colorado College. He was generous in providing pro bono legal work for the college, was active as the legacy representative for his class, and served the alumni association and the Friends of the Library. In 1993, Colorado College gave him the Lloyd E. Worner Award, and in 2006, an honorary degree. He is survived by his children, John '62, Jeff '76, Stephen, and Suellen, and his sister Mary Haney Lockridge '43; preceded in death by his wife, Gratia Belle '34, brother James '39, and sister Helen Haney Nelson '35.

Hester-Jane Butcher Cogswell, Dec. 7, 2008, in Meeker, Colo. Survived by her six children, Joan, Wilton, Ann, Sally, David, and Gary; 17 grandchildren (including Wilton W. Cogswell, IV '87 and Deborah Donner '83); 22 great-grandchildren (including Brittany Donner Roy '08); and numerous nieces and nephews (including Susan B. Cogswell '70 and William Hastings Cogswell '66); preceded in death by her husband Wilton W. Cogswell, Jr. '36, and a grandson, Robert Donner III. She wrote a book about her historic home in Pine Valley on ranch land eventually acquired by the United States Air Force Academy. That book will soon be published.

Terence Merriam Golden, Dec. 17, 2008. Terry was a longtime realtor in Colorado Springs. He was active in the Fifty Year Club and was the permanent president of his Class of 1940. He is survived by his wife, Sue.

Rosa Mae Stroud Gillespie, Oct. 16, 2005, in Sacramento, Calif. She worked for 10 years as a social worker. and worked for 26 years in the California Department of Social Services, including work on Indian reservations. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alger, and her brother, Kelly Dolphus Stroud '31.
