Floyd Martinus “Andy” Andersen
Floyd Martinus “Andy” Andersen, 67, Florence, Ariz., died Dec.
27, 2002, in Mesa, Ariz.
He was born on June 6, 1935, in Page, Neb., to Martinus and
Ethel Andersen.
He was a heavy-equipment supervisor for many years.
He was preceded in death by grandson Jason Andersen; mother
Ethel Andersen; and brother Larry Andersen.
He is survived by his wife Marie Ann Andersen; daughters
Ramona Green, Indiana; and Eunice Croley, Colorado; son Scott
Andersen, Nevada; and nine grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the Leadville Elks Lodge on
June 14, 2003, at 2 p.m. All who worked with or knew Andy are
welcome to attend.

Louis R. Davey
Louis R. Davey, 74, of Sun Lakes, Ariz., died May 29, 2003,
from complications of Parkinsons disease.
He was born June 1, 1928, in Chicago, Ill., where he attended
public school.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1950 to
1952.
Later, he worked for American Airlines in Chicago and
subsequently was graduated from the University of Denver with a
bachelor of science degree in business administration.
He was a State Farm Insurance agent in Leadville until his
retirement in 1993.
He was active in the Leadville Chamber of Commerce and Lions
Club, serving as an officer in both. He was a lifetime member of
the Leadville Elks Lodge #236 and also served as a member of
the Lake County school board for several years.
He played clarinet in the Leadville Community Band; and he was
an avid Denver Bronco fan.
He is survived by his wife Gail McClave Davey, San Lakes,
Ariz.; daughter Jeffra Lou (Al) Clough, Juneau, Alaska; son Mike
(Vicky) Davey, Scottsdale, Ariz.; grandsons Jake Michael Davey
and Max McClave Davey, Scottsdale, Ariz.; sister-in-law Corrine
Diemer, Cańon City; and Gerrie Davey, Chicago, Ill.
Private services were held. Remembrances may be sent to
Hospice of the Valley, 2222 S. Dobson Rd., Suite 401, Mesa, AZ
85202.
Bernardita J. “Bernie” Medina
Bernardita J. “Bernie” Medina, 85, died April 28, 2003, in
Portland, Ore.
She is survived by her nieces Juanita Reid and Suzanne
Washington.
Graveside services will be Thursday, June 12, at 11 a.m. at St.
Joseph Cemetery in Leadville.
Gayle Collins
A memorial for Gayle Collins, who died June 5, will be held on
Sunday, June 15, at The Lady of the Lake picnic area, Tabor Boat
Ramp, at 11:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at the service. Maps
can be picked up at the Community Church, 331 U.S. 24. A
potluck picnic, provided by the church, will follow the service.
Anyone is welcome to bring a dish.
Frederick K. Miller
A memorial service for former Leadville resident Frederick K.
Miller, 51, was held in Carlsbad, N.M., on July 3, 2003.
He died June 27, 2003, at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque,
N.M.
He was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Archie and Ruth Miller
on Oct. 6, 1951. He was raised in Gilman, Colo., and later moved
to Leadville.
It was in Leadville that he met and married Shari Pilkington. They
later relocated to Loving, N.M., where they have resided for the
past 20 years.
He had worked at the WIPP Site as an operations engineer and
was very active in the mine rescue program.
He enjoyed woodworking and working with his hands.
He will be greatly missed by all his friends and family.
He is survived by his wife Shari Miller, Loving, N.M.; sons
Adam Miller, Fort Worth, Texas; Brian Miller; and Christopher
Miller, both of Albuquerque, N.M.; granddaughter Jalyn Miller,
Loving, N.M.; brother Joseph Miller, Fallon, Nev.; and sister
Rebecca Curnutt, Leadville.
Interment was July 6, 2003, at St. Joseph Cemetery in Leadville
next to his parents.
