Fontella Jane (Sally) McCoy
Sally McCoy, 70, died Dec. 31, 2004, in the comfort of her home after a lengthy illness.
McCoy was born April 3, 1934, in Madill, Okla., and grew up in the McMillian and Madill, Okla., area. She moved with her husband and four children to Colorado in 1957.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Howard McCoy; children Danny, Benny, Janie and Cindy; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
McCoy worked for many years at the Placer Restaurant in Granite.
Services were held Jan. 3, 2005, at Runyan Mortuary with the Rev. Dan Bruce officiating. Interment followed at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

James Oliver Schaffer
James Oliver Schaffer died on Dec. 22, 2004, at the Colorado State Nursing Home in Rifle after a short illness.
Schaffer was born in Syracuse, Kan., to Alfred and Ramona Schaffer on Oct. 17, 1927.
He attended the Syracuse schools, then joined the Navy during World War II, his junior year in high school. After the service he returned to Syracuse, working various jobs.
Schaffer married Marilyn Spencer on Nov. 4, 1954, at Raton, N.M., at the United Methodist Church; they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year.
Schaffer loved wood working, building model planes, miniature dollhouses and barns.
He loved to hunt and fish when time would permit. He loved animals and his pets were a big part of his life.
Schaffer was christened at the United Methodist Church in Syracuse, Kan.
Schaffer and Marilyn moved from Syracuse to Colorado Springs in 1955, where he worked for Oliver and Associates.
In 1961 they moved to Twin Lakes where he worked for a drilling company drilling water wells. He eventually started his own drilling business, Twin Lakes Drilling Co.
After retiring, they moved to Casa Grande, Ariz., where they lived until 1998 when they moved back to Syracuse, Kan., to be closer to his mom.
Schaffer was preceded in death by his father W.A. Schaffer; infant brother Billy Joe Schaffer; and daughter Micky Sue Rogers.
Schaffer is survived by his wife Marilyn (Spencer) Schaffer, Rifle; mother Ramona Schaffer, Syracuse, Kan.; daughters Chris (Tom) Fox, Buena Vista; Lauri (Steve) Sebestyen, Parachute; Pamela (Rudy) Fierro, Chandler, Ariz.; and Toni (Pat) Thompson, Encinitas, Calif.; brother Pete (Linda) Schaffer, Hesperia, Calif.; grandsons Matt and Ben Fox, Buena Vista; Jeremy Sebestyen, Parachute; and James Thompson, Encinitas, Calif.; granddaughters Jamie Sebestyen, Parachute; Tanya Fierro, Chandler, Ariz.; and Radha Thompson, Encinitas, Calif.; great grandchildren Jon and Aron Fox, Buena Vista; and Ashley Sebestyen and Gage Amsberry, Parachute, with a fifth on the way; and wonderful aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at Twin Lakes at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made in his name to the VA home in Rifle or the United Methodist Church of Syracuse, Kan.
Marilyn Rae Beckstead Cardall
Marilyn Rae Beckstead Cardall, 47, died Jan. 16, 2005.
Cardall was born May 24, 1957, in Casper, Wyo. She grew up in Santaquin, Utah, and attended Payson High School.
She lived five years in Wichita, Kan., at which time she worked at Avcon as a sheet metal mechanic. Cardall then moved back to Utah and enlisted in the Air Force and continued her profession at Hill Air Force Base where she was recognized and awarded the first female outstanding Airman of the Year award in 1982. She later accepted a medical retirement from Hill Air Force Base.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved attending the temple where she found great peace and strength.
She is survived by her husband Bill Cardall, Roy, Utah; children Shad (Rochelle) Jenkins, Roy, Utah; Jayson (Jacquie) Verbeck, Wichita, Kan.; Jarame Verbeck, Wichita, Kan.; and Jandi Wayment (Aaron Ashby), Ogden, Utah; grandchildren Clayton, Autry, Braxton Verbeck, Addison Verbeck and Quintin Ashby; grandmother Edna Robertson, American Fork, Utah; father Don C. Thompson, Leadville; mother Alice Price (Leland) Muir; sisters Jan Nelson, Midvale; Susan Robinson, Las Vegas; and Diane (Brian) Robinson, Duchesne; brothers Dennis Price , Tooele; Russell (Becky) Price , Evanston, Wyo.; 13 stepchildren and 13 step grandchildren.
Services were held Jan. 21. Burial was in Ben Lomond Cemetery, North Ogden, Utah.
Kenneth Windorski
Kenneth Windorski, 81, died Jan. 13, 2005, in Butte, Mont.
He was born June 17, 1923, to William and Myrtle (Wilson) Windorski in Crosby, Minn.
Following his Navy career during WWII, Windorski married Lucille Peterson on June 17, 1946, in Crosby, Minn.
Windorski worked in several mines, including Climax Molybdenum and Black Cloud. He retired from Magma Copper in Arizona after 16 1/2 years in 1989.
They moved to Butte, Mont., and became members of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
Windorski was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and his beloved wife.
He is survived by his sons Richard (Jean) Windorski, Tucson, Ariz.; Jim (Sheree) Windorski, Kalispell, Mont.; Joel (Marcy) Windorski, Tucson, Ariz.; Tom (Myrna) Windorski, Leadville; Ronald (Kathy) Windorski, Anaconda, Mont.; and Gerald (Jayne) Windorski, Anaconda, Mont.; sister Muriel Smith; grandchildren Rita (Lee) Colton, Leadville; Greg (Beverly) Windorski, Leadville; Daniel (Jeni) Windorski, Leadville; and Brenda (Eric) Martin, Ind.; great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Alice Hamsher
Alice Hamsher, 81, long time resident of Lakewood, Colo., died Jan. 20, 2005.
She was born in Leadville July 3, 1923.
During her life, Hamsher was active in her church, community and bowling leagues. She loved the outdoors and kept a beautiful garden. Her house was always open to family and friends.
She was greatly loved by nieces, a nephew, cousins, neighbors and all who knew her. She will be remembered for her fun, loving personality and her great warmth.
Memorial services will be held for her at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 7240 W. 12th Ave., Lakewood, CO 80218 on Friday, Feb. 4 at 10 a.m. Inurnment will be at Crown Hill Cemetery.
