Shirley J. VanDUSEN
Shirley J. VanDUSEN, 68, of Loveland died Oct. 7, 2005, at her residence.
She was born Nov. 21, 1936, in Loveland to George Ernest Ross and Sara Lou Rash. She married Raymond Leslie VanDusen Oct. 5, 1957, in Loveland. He preceded her in death Aug. 17, 1986.
Mrs. VanDusen was a Navy wife for 22 years, living in different places before moving back to Loveland in 1978. She was a waitress at Grandpa’s Cafe in Berthoud.
She enjoyed cooking, shopping, reading and playing slot machines. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and attending big family gatherings.
She is survived by three daughters, Vicki Wallace, Jacklyn Taylor and Leslie VanDusen, all of Loveland; three grandchildren, Sarah Jean Cavender, Brook Wallace and Julia Taylor, all of Loveland; four great-grandchildren, Bo Magrum, Jax McKellar, Jasmine Magrum and Aspen Cavender, all of Loveland; three brothers, Delbert Ross, Doug Ross and Rocky Ross, all of Loveland; and two sisters, Betsy Klingenberg of Loveland and Donna Chandler of Greeley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond VanDusen; a son, Steven Ray VanDusen; a granddaughter, Christafer Ann Taylor; brothers Don Ross and Bob Ross; and a sister, Carolyn Ann Ross.
Cremation has been conducted. Private family graveside services will be held. Burial will be at Loveland Burial Park.

John P. KRAMER
John P. KRAMER, 53, of Loveland died Oct. 10, 2005, at home.
He was born Feb. 7, 1952, in Fulton, Ky., to Theodore Kramer and Christine Cardwell. He graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1970 and attended Colorado State University for one year.
Mr. Kramer was a laborer. He worked in construction doing general contract work and roofing.
He moved to Loveland in 1980. He was an avid sports fan (Broncos and CSU Rams). He enjoyed life, fishing and story-telling. He had a great sense of humor and was very close to his cat, “Precious.”
He is survived by a brother, Charles Kramer and wife Jane of Loveland; two nephews, John Howe and David Howe; three nieces, Heather Howe and Lindsay and Jennifer Kramer; and special friends Ernie West, Kim Walsh, and Dave and Linda French.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore Kramer and Christine Kramer Sherman, and a sister, Rita Howe.
Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Grandview Cemetery in Fort Collins.

Albert Kramer
Albert Kramer, 101, of Fort Collins, formerly of Loveland, died Oct. 7, 2005, in Fort Collins.
He was born May 20, 1904, in Liesnig, Germany-Saxony, to George and Minna Buckendorf Kramer. Albert grew up in Greeley, and was a resident of Loveland for more than 70 years.
Albert was a member of the United States Army Air Corps as a sergeant during World War II, serving in 9th Army Air Force, 9th Bomber Division, 98th Bomber Wing, 394th Bomber Group, 587th Bomber Squadron.
Albert worked 26 years with the U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Reclamation.
In retirement, he had many good times with his niece and nephew, Alton and Jaunita Jarrett. He loved making toys for children, fishing and hunting in his early years at Red Feather Lakes, going out to lunch and going for rides with his caregiver Sandy.
He was a member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Loveland and was most grateful for his longtime special friends, Lonnie and Andrea Sheldon. He loved his cat Bootsie. When asked the secret of a long life, he would say, “Get off your butt and do something.”
He is survived by three sons, Jerry Kramer of Valley Center, Calif., Richard Kramer of Banning, Calif., and Karl Kramer of San Clemente, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty; brothers, Marvin, Martin, Reuben, Ralph George Jr., and Carl Buckendorf and George Kramer; sisters, Ruth, Stella, Amy and Julia Buckendorf.
Graveside memorial services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2005, at Resthaven Memory Gardens.

Frankie E. RIMER
Frankie E. RIMER, 81, of Loveland, died Oct. 9, 2005, in Loveland.
She was March 31, 1924, in Denver, to Michael R. and Elizabeth A. Einzig Briola. She married Leland C. Rimer on Feb. 27, 1943, in San Louis Obispo, Calif.
She is a former resident of Estes Park and has lived in Loveland since 1997.
She was a vice president of First National Bank in Denver, where she had worked for 33 years. She enjoyed entertaining, cooking and crafts.
She is survived by her husband, Leland C. Rimer of Loveland; a son, Skip Rimer of Palantine, Ill.; two brothers, Robert Briola of Pueblo, and Fred Briola of Denver; a sister, Esther “Pepper” Madsen of Aurora; three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Odil and Leona Roy.
A memorial service will be at noon, Saturday, Oct. 15, 2005, at her residence.

Melvin Dale Pew
Melvin Dale Pew, 67, of Coffey, Mo., and formerly of Loveland, died Oct. 1, 2005, at his home.
He was born Feb. 24, 1938, in Audrain County, Mo., to Hugh N. and Lois A. (Ward) Pew.
He worked for Coors Brewing Co. in Golden until his retirement in 1996. He lived in Loveland 1973-1996.
He enjoyed life, his family, friends, and occupation/hobby as a machinist. The coffeepot was always on and his door was always open.
He is survived by four sons, Ron of Amity, Mo., Billy D. of Wolf Point, Mont., Donald of Loveland, and Kevin of Glendive, Mont.; a sister, Mae Lanham of Umatilla, Ore.; eight grandchildren; and special friend Virginia Cranford of Coffey.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Helen Jennings, on Nov. 22, 1996; his parents; and a brother, Donald Pew.
Funeral services were held Oct. 6 in Vandalia, Mo., with burial in Salem Cemetery near New London, Mo.
Benjamin Dane Scarberry
Benjamin Dane Scarberry, infant son of Timothy and Michelle Scarberry of Fort Collins.
Survivors include his brothers, Michael Scarberry and Christopher Scarberry of Fort Collins; grandparents, Hobert and Linda Scarberry of Custer, S.D., and Dr. Larry and Beverly Moline of Fort Collins; great-grandmother, Margaret Dolleslager of Moline, Ill.
Benjamin is preceded in death by his grandmother, Karen K. Scarberry.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m, Monday, Oct. 17, 2005, at Allnutt Drake Chapel.
Burial will be held at Grandview Cemetery.

Anita Belle GRAESE
Anita Belle GRAESE 88, a second-generation native of Larimer County, died April 12, 2006, at an Aurora nursing home.
She was born Aug. 15, 1917, in Loveland to Arthur H. Wagers and Vive E. (Carlson) Wagers. She and her older brother, Kent Wagers (deceased), attended Trilby Country School in the 1920s, and she graduated from Loveland High School in 1935.
She married Norbert F. Graese on Sept. 20, 1938, in Loveland. He preceded her in death on June 24, 1990, after 51 years of marriage.
Mrs. Graese was a beautician at the Dorothy-Faye Beauty Shoppe from 1936 to 1939, and as a young wife, she and her husband lived in the Arcadia Apartments above W and T Drugstore. She also worked at the Rialto Theater Box Office for 25 cents per hour. From 1940 to 1946, she was bookkeeper and office manager in the family business, Graese and Sons Implement Co.
In 1954, she and her husband, Norbert, established their farm, located halfway between Loveland and Fort Collins. In 1966, she worked as the manager of the S&H Green Stamp store in Fort Collins until it closed in January 1974.
As a member of Zion Lutheran Church since 1937, she served the church in many capacities, including as Sunday school superintendent, confirmation teacher and an officer of the women’s organization at local, conference and district levels.
Mrs. Graese enjoyed playing bridge, needlepoint, crossword puzzles and traveling. She loved to attend her grandchildren’s school activities and sports.
She is survived by her son, Wally Graese and wife Karla of Fort Collins; her daughter, Eileen A. Carter and husband Elbert of Colorado Springs; grandchildren, Steve Graese and wife Dawn of Aurora, Leann Vincent and husband Jeff of Boston, Mass., Joel Carter of Colorado Springs, David Carter and wife Jennifer of Albuquerque, N.M., and Alan Carter of Colorado Springs; great-grandchildren, Abby Graese, Brandon Graese and Rebecca Graese, all of Aurora; and six nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Cindy Wolf officiating. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery in Fort Collins.
Viewing will be at the church before service time.

Steven Kjell Flack
Steven Kjell Flack was found dead April 30, 2006, at Mount Whitney in California. He died like he lived, on a mountain, a part of the nature that he always loved so much.
He was born to Gary and Virginia Flack on Oct. 20, 1960, at Stanford University Hospital in Palo Alto, Calif. He was baptized at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Newark, Calif., where the family joined as charter members.
In 1966, the family moved to Loveland, upon Gary’s transfer with Hewlett-Packard. Loveland was their home for 19 years. Steven graduated from Thompson Valley High School. He played trombone in band, piano, and was in the bell choir at Zion Lutheran Church, where he was also confirmed, active in the Luther League and the Sky Ranch Bible Camp.
After high school, he attended the University of Colorado at Boulder and finished his engineering degree at Colorado State University in Fort Collins. He completed an MBA degree at the University of San Diego after beginning his career with Hewlett-Packard.
Steve had been a part of the HP family for 20 years, working in Fort Collins, Singapore and Germany. He always enjoyed working at HP and made many friends there. It has been very comforting for the family to hear from these friends, learning that they enjoyed knowing and working with Steven.
In 2001, Steve was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia. He was saved by a new drug, Gleevec. Even during his illness, he was determined to live life to the fullest. He was in Team in Training to compete in a triathlon bicycle race at Lake Tahoe to raise funds for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society, “to give back for the help I received.” His team won the triathlon.
Steven will be missed by his children, Melodi and Benjamin; his former wife, Kyung-hee; his parents, Gary and Virginia Flack of Golden; sisters, Susan Flack and Kent Cattarello of Loveland, Rebecca and Scott Near and daughters Stacia, Kathleen and Michelle of Littleton, Carolyn and Dave Gage and son Jordan of Greeley; aunts and uncles; and a host of friends.
A celebration of life will be at 7 p.m. today at Zion Lutheran Church, 815 E. 16th St., Loveland.

Anna Elaine Giroux
Anna Elaine Giroux of Bradenton, Fla., died peacefully on July 15, 2006, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, John and Connie Giroux in Loveland.
She was born Anna Elaine Copas in Tompkinsville, Ky., on Sept. 24, 1925, the daughter of Perry and Florence Hurd Copas, and was married to Robert V. Giroux on Oct. 21, 1944, in Danville, Ill.
Together she and Bob raised 10 children in Burlington, Vt.
In 1979, Bob and Anna relocated to Bradenton. Anna was a loving and devoted wife caring for her husband until his death on Nov. 30, 2000. Anna’s life was family-centered and family was important above all else. She took great pride in all her family’s accomplishments.
Anna leaves behind two sisters, Lorna Abney of Danville, Ill., and Ruby Lockwood of Oakwood, Ill. She also leaves behind her 10 beloved children: her seven sons, Ronald Giroux and his wife Sandra of Colchester, Vt., Robert Giroux and his wife Donna of Bay City, Mich., the Rev. William Giroux of Burlington, Vt., Stephen Giroux and his wife Roberta of Windsor, Vt., James Giroux of San Francisco, Calif., John Giroux and his wife Connie of Loveland, Dr. Andrew Giroux and his wife Michelle of Winter Haven, Fla., and three daughters, Liz Philbrick and her husband Michael of Summerdale, Ala.,
Mary Giroux of Bradenton, Fla., and Patty Assaf and her husband Simon of Redlands, Calif. She was “Memere” to 16 grandchildren: Sean, Meghan, Aimee, Nichole, Michael, Melissa, Katy, Christopher, Angela, Jenny, Simon, Erin, John, David,
Andrew and Lauren, and two great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Claudia.
The Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, 2006, at Sacred Heart Church in Bradenton, Fla. The Rev. William P. Giroux will be the celebrant and homilist.

Kenneth “KC” WILLIAMS Sr.
Kenneth “KC” WILLIAMS Sr., 73, of Huachuca City, Ariz., died Aug. 15, 2006, in Loveland.
He was born Nov. 20, 1932, in Bay City, Mich., to Clifford Williams and Helen Youngs. He graduated from Handy High School in Bay City, Mich., in 1950.
He married Iona J. Anderson on March 9, 1951, in Bay City. He was a building contractor in general construction, a bricklayer and owned the Gateway Realty in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
He lived in Loveland from 1963 until 1977, and then moved to Idaho. He most recently lived in Huachuca City, Ariz.
He loved hunting, fishing and traveling and was a ham radio operator and helped build several Baptist churches in Loveland and other communities. He was a member of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Kenneth C. Williams Jr.; two brothers, Alfred and Harold; and one sister, Elsie Rescoe.
He is survived by his wife, Ione Williams of Huachuca City, Ariz.; son David Allen Williams and wife Linda of Loveland; daughters Sharon Spencer and husband Robert and Sandra K. Mastros, all of Loveland; brothers Clifford L. Williams Jr. of Sterling, Mich., Howard J. Williams of Beaverton, Mich., Dale E. Williams of Lansing, Mich., Alwood P. Williams of Kingsley, Mich.; sister Helen E. Hanna of Beaverton, Mich.; sister-in-law Avon Anderson of Huachuca City, Ariz; grandchildren Kenneth “Chip” Williams III and wife Droxsan, Melissa M. Dawn Denee Cron
Dawn Denee Cron 44, of Greeley and formerly of Loveland, died Aug. 16, 2006, at North Colorado Medical Center Hospice and Palliative Care Unit in Greeley.
She was born June 19, 1962, in Minneapolis, Minn., to Gilbert and Doris Glanzer Koschel. She lived in Minnesota until she was 5. In 1967, her family moved to Loveland, where she attended school, graduating from Thompson Valley High School in 1980. She enjoyed roller skating and worked at A&W while growing up.
On June 26, 1982, she married Eric Cron, and they moved to Greeley.
She enjoyed ceramics, crocheting and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Eric Cron of Greeley; three sons, Andrew Cron, Anthony Cron, and Alec Cron, all of Evans; two daughters, Amanda Cron of Greeley, and Amber Barber and husband D.J. of Evans; her parents, Gil and Doris Koschel of Loveland; sister, Derlyn VanRonk and husband Mark of Windsor; three brothers, Darlys Koschel and wife Beth of Loveland, Doug Koschel and wife Lori of Greeley, and Denny Koschel of Loveland; four grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents and brother-in-law, Michael Cron.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Adamson West Chapel in Greeley.
Recitation of the rosary will be 5 p.m. Sunday at Adamson West Chapel.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Greeley.
