Darwin Charles Valentine, 83, of Loveland, died Aug. 13, 2000, at his home.
He was born Aug. 22, 1916, in Aurora, Ill., to Charles and Geneva Valentine. He attended schools in Aurora, the Moody Bible Institute and Roosevelt University in Chicago. He married Mildred Tadewaldt in 1939.
He worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad in Chicago for 30 years as a travel representative.
Mr. Valentine directed the choir of the Marion Avenue Baptist Church in Aurora for 36 years. Music was a big part of his life. He also enjoyed photography and travel.
He moved to Loveland 12 years ago from Aurora. He was a member of the Galilee Baptist Church of Loveland.
Mr. Valentine is survived by his wife, Mildred Valentine, of Loveland; sisters-in-law, Anita Zielke, of Loveland, Gladys Fox, of Carlsbad, Calif., and Shirley Tadewaldt, of Glendale, Calif.; brothers-in-law, Gordon Tadewaldt, of Glendale, and Norbert Tadewaldt, of Visalia, Calif.; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Cremation will take place.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Allnutt Funeral Service-Hunter Chapel.
Inurnment will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, north of Loveland.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Galilee Baptist Church in care of Allnutt Funeral Service-Hunter Chapel.
ELMARR:
Robert E. "Gene" Elmarr, 74, of Longmont, died Nov. 24, 2000 at his residence.
He was born June 22, 1926 in Denver to Robert Edgar and Bessie V. Keitchiud Elmer.
He married Catherine M. Marsolf on Sept. 13, 1952 in Hunter, Okla. She preceded him in death in 1992.
Mr. Elmarr is survived by a son, Kevin Elmarr, of Longmont; four daughters, Tahnya Haney, of Berthoud, and Patricia Rowley, Darlena Almond and Lucy Pearman, all of Longmont; 19 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at First Free United Methodist Church in Longmont with the Rev. Gene Poole officiating.

Emma Lillian Karst, 87, of Loveland, died Nov. 25, 2000, at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins.
She was born April 25, 1913, in Galatia, Kan., to J.B. and Katie Ochs. She attended and graduated from Hoisington High School in Hoisington, Kan., and then attended Normal School to become a teacher. She taught school in Barton County, Kan. She married Paul Arvin Karst on June 20, 1937, in Milberger, Russell County, Kan. He preceded her in death on Sept. 2, 1989.
They farmed in Galatia and Wilson, Kan. Mr. Karst became associated with the Bureau of Indian Affairs on the Navajo Reservation at Rock Point, Ariz. Mrs. Karst served as dormitory supervisor there for 13 years. They moved to Loveland in 1978 from Cortez.
Mrs. Karst was an active member of the King of Glory Lutheran Church. She had been a member of various church groups and served on committees. She also was a member of Germans from Russia Society and National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
Mrs. Karst is survived by a son, Gerald L. Karst and wife Karen, of Greeley; a daughter, Aletha DeLeo and husband Phil, of Highlands Ranch; a brother, Alvin Ochs and wife Clara, of Hoisington; a sister, Verna Rhorer, of Alexandria, Va.; two grandchildren, Amy Herold and husband Michael, of Greeley, and Rebecca Lewus and husband Paul, of Wilmington, Del.; one great-granddaughter, Abigail Herold, of Greeley; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Florence Dumler.
Viewing and visitation with family present will be 5:30-7 p.m., Wednesday, at Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, at King of Glory Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Dick Kling officiating.
Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, north of Loveland.

KNOTT:
Timothy "Tim" Kaber Knott, 54, of Mead, died Nov. 29, 2000, at Vista Hospital in Louisville.
He is the brother of Maureen K. Bruns of Loveland. He also is survived by his parents, Raymond and Harriett Knott of Mead, and several other relatives.
He was born Nov. 18, 1946, in Chicago, to Raymond and Harriett Duffy Knott.
A funeral Mass will be 1 p.m. Dec. 10 at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Mead.

KRIEN:
Muriel E. Krien, 87, of Brush, formerly of Loveland, died Nov. 24, 2000, at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley.
She was born April 5, 1913, in St. Francis, Kan., to Lorenzo and Jessie Halley. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dwain Meireis, in 1942. She married Oscar Krien on Aug. 8, 1946, in Sharon Springs, Kan. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Krien has lived in Morgan County since 1955, except for a couple of years in the early 1960s, when she lived in Loveland.
She taught school for two years and worked at Sunset Manor in Brush in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
Mrs. Krien was a member of the United Methodist Church of Fort Morgan, AARP, VFW Auxiliary, Royal Neighbors of America for many years and the East Morgan County Hospital Auxiliary. She was an avid bridge player, enjoyed sewing and collected dolls. She enjoyed being with her family.
Mrs. Krien is survived by her husband, Oscar Krien, of Brush; a son, Bruce Meireis, of Cripple Creek; a daughter, Linda Krien-Bernhardt, of Loveland; a daughter-in-law, Wilma Beckmann, of Loveland; four sisters, Velva Follett, Bessie Burr and Jessie Schield, all of St. Francis, and Opal Winston, of Salt Lake City; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a son, Donald Meireis, a son-in-law, Teddy L. Bernhardt, a daughter-in-law, Kay Meireis, two brothers and four sisters.
Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, at the United Methodist Church in Fort Morgan. Services will conclude at the church.

Leonard L. Roe, of Loveland. Cremation has been conducted. Memorial services 4 p.m. Monday, via Seventh-day Adventist Church, 950 N. Cleveland, Pastor Kevin J. Klug officiating.
Leonard Leroy Roe, 63, of Loveland, died Nov. 28, 2000, at North Shore Health Care Facility in Loveland.
He was born June 18, 1937, in Longmont, to Clyde L. and Ruth C. Meyers Roe. He graduated from Johnstown High School in Johnstown in 1955. He earned a bachelor's degree in political science and history from the University of Northern Colorado, and a paralegal certificate from Colorado State University. He was divorced.
He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served with the Strategic Air Command until his discharge in 1959.
Mr. Roe worked at Great Western Sugar Co. in Johnstown, Monfort of Colorado for 11 years where he was the assistant director of public relations.
He served as a Weld County commissioner in 1976 and instituted the personnel system still in use.
He moved to Loveland in 1994 from Greeley. He worked at SAS at the Prime Outlets at Loveland.
He was a member of Abiding Love Lutheran Church in Loveland. He was interested in politics, the Democratic party, Bible study and reading.
Mr. Roe is survived by four sons, Michael L. Roe of Estes Park, Steven D. Roe and wife Sandy of Memphis, Tenn., Theron J.V. Roe and wife Summer of Eugene, Ore., and Andrew M. Roe and wife Kristy of Platteville; a daughter, Debra R. Strickland and husband Edward of Jacksonville, Fla.; a brother, Dennis Roe and wife Jeanie of Denver; a sister, Betty Gray of Loveland; and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Bert Roe.
Cremation has been conducted.
Memorial services will be 4 p.m. Monday at the Seventh-day Adventist Church, 950 N. Cleveland Ave. The Rev. Kevin J. Klug of Abiding Love Lutheran Church will officiate.

Myrtle A. Stahlecker, 79, of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Loveland, died Nov. 22, 2000, at her home in Mesa.
She was born Jan. 28, 1921, in Garden City, Kan., to Ernest and Hazel Friend Ellis. She married Julius E. Stahlecker on June 24, 1958, in Denver. He preceded her in death on Aug. 3, 1995.
They moved to Loveland in September 1981, from Hotchkiss. She moved to Mesa following her husband's death.
Mrs. Stahlecker was a member of the Loveland First Congregational Church.
Mrs. Stahlecker is survived by three daughters, Winona Gilmer and husband James of Queen Creek, Ariz., Karen Quinn of Visalia, Calif., and Jacquelyn Townsend and husband Dave of Thornton; a sister, Mary Gaylord of Wichita, Kan.; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Jones.
The family has requested no viewing.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, at Loveland Burial Park. The Rev. Don Laue, of the First Congregational Church, will officiate.

BRITT:
Florence Britt, 99, of Clarinda, Iowa, died Jan. 30, 2001, at Goldenrod Manor in Clarinda.
She was the mother of Charlene Eighmy and husband Jack of Loveland. She also is survived by several other relatives.
She was born May 3, 1901, in Page County, Iowa, near Bethesda, Iowa, to Eric and Emma Lindquist Wall. She married Elmer Britt on Dec. 11, 1918. He preceded her in death on Aug. 3, 1982.
Visitation with family present will be 7-8 tonight at Walker-Merrick Funeral Home in Clarinda, (515) 792-5125.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Clarinda, with the Rev. Don Fisher officiating.
Burial will be in Clarinda Cemetery.

Roger Duane Byers, 49, of Estes Park, died Jan. 27, 2001, at Estes Park Medical Center.
He was born March 13, 1951, in West Point, Neb., to Raymond J. Stigge and Darlene Bernice Deep.
He graduated from Fairview High School in Boulder.
He was self-employed in construction finish work and was an artist.
He enjoyed his art, woodworking, the outdoors and his dog, Tasha.
He is survived by his father, Raymond John Stigge and wife Margaret of Loveland; his brother, Carl Byers and wife Sylvia of Longmont; his sister, Rita Trumbo and husband Jack of Orinda, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Friday at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church in Estes Park, with the Rev. Paul Garrett officiating. Cremation will be conducted.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Society.

Garland "Gary" D. Culling, 49, of Loveland, passed away Tuesday afternoon at McKee Medical Center. Survivors include two daughters, Evan Star of Kansas and Lindsay of Pennsylvania. DAUDERT:
Willie Daudert, 83, of Windsor, died Jan. 30, 2001, at Windsor Health Care Center in Windsor.
He was born Oct. 20, 1917, in Hindenburg, Germany, to Robert August Daudert and Elisa Nedebok Daudert. He was raised on a farm near Hindenburg and attended schools in the city of Hindenburg.
He married Maaike Vant Verlaat on March 29, 1945, in Bangstede, Germany.
He served in the German air force from October 1938 until May 1945. He attained the rank of sergeant.
He came to the United States in 1951, settling in Windsor. He helped on Jake Brunner's farm and later worked for Great Western Sugar Co. He then worked as a custodian at Windsor High School until he retired.
He was a member of Faith United Church of Christ in Windsor and the Teamsters Union.
Mr. Daudert is survived by his wife, Maaike Daudert of Windsor; a son, Rudolf E. Daudert of Greeley; a daughter, Elisa M. Daudert of Windsor; two brothers, Ernst Daudert of Loveland and Ewald Daudert of Ochtelbur, Germany; a sister, Erna Starck of Berthoud; four grandchildren, including Justin Emil and Kristin Emil of Windsor.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Fritz Daudert.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. today at Adamson Memorial Windsor Chapel.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Faith United Church of Christ in Windsor.
Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Windsor.
