AMBLER:
Burt Ambler, 57, died in Fort Collins, Saturday, Sept. 4, 2004. He died at home, surrounded by his family, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
He was born to Sam and Elsabeth Ambler in Los Angeles, on April 25, 1947. An all-state fullback and wrestler in high school, he was an excellent athlete and student. He attended Stanford University on a wrestling scholarship and graduated with a bachelor of science in industrial engineering in 1969 and a masters of science in engineering in 1970.
Mr. Ambler began a career with Hewlett-Packard in a manufacturing division in Palo Alto in 1970, and transferred in 1977 to the Loveland HP facility to work in Test and Measurement Information Technology and later in Manufacturing Engineering. He most recently worked in Fort Collins in HP pre- and post-sales consulting and integration. He was a talented and respected engineer and manager.
In 1998, he married Kim Willis, in Waikoloa, Hawaii. An avid outdoorsman, Mr. Ambler enjoyed skiing, sailing, and hiking. His favorite pastime was designing and building homes and cabins; he recently combined his loves for building and the outdoors in his home in Breckenridge. He was a longtime, active member of the Evangelical Covenant Church and a member of the Stanford Alumni Association. He was a man of integrity, intelligence and generosity who was loved by his family and friends.
Survivors are his wife, Kim Willis Ambler of Fort Collins; daughter Carol and husband Brian Wilson; daughter Christina and husband Joe Quadhamer; daughter Treva Ambler; stepson Jon Willis, and three grandchildren. Also surviving are his brother Alan Ambler and wife Bev, brother Mark Ambler, and brother Sam Ambler and his life partner Ed Rubin.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2004, at Redeemer Lutheran Church on Carpenter Road in Fort Collins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Burt Ambler Memorial Library fund at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Fort Collins.
BLACK:
Janne Black of Loveland. Cremation has been completed. No services scheduled. Memorials may be made to the Janne Black Memorial Fund in care of the Viegut Funeral Home.
Janne Black of Loveland died Saturday, Sept. 11, 2004, at Hospice Care Center.
She was born Nov. 27, 1949, to Jack Black and Anne Hawkins in Hutchinson, Kan.
She graduated from Longmont High School in 1967 and moved in 1977 to Portland, Ore., to attend the Portland Actors Conservatory.
After graduating from the conservatory, she worked as an actor, dancer and waitperson in Portland. She was cast in several commercials and loved to dance.
In May 2002, she moved to Loveland.
She is preceded in death by her father, Jack Black, and her sister, Shelley Black.
She is survived by her son, Matt Powell of Littleton, her mother, Anne McCamant of Sterling, Kan., and her best friend, Barry Peterson of Loveland.
Cremation has been completed and no services are scheduled.
Memorials may be made to the Janne Black Memorial Fund, in care of the Viegut Funeral Home.
BOLDT:
M.W. “Pat” Boldt, 80, of Retsil, Wash., formerly of Loveland, died Aug. 30, 2004.
He was born Sept. 7, 1923, in Firth, Neb., to Oscar and Nellie Boldt.
He lived in the Loveland area from 1961 to 1975, where he was a businessman and developer. He was a member of the Buckhorn Presbyterian Church in Masonville.
He is survived by his three children, Jan and wife Diana of Washougal, Wash., Patti Boldt Landerfelt and husband Gary of Riverdale, Ga., and Michelle Boldt Dolliver and husband Tom of Vancouver, Wash.; seven grandchildren.
BOWMAN:
Mary Grace (Cole) Bowman, 60, of Lusk, Wyo., died Sept. 8, 2004, at her home.
She was born in Loveland Sept. 22, 1943, to Edwin Calvin and Jewell Shelby (Clark) Cole. She was raised in Colorado and Wyoming.
She married John Henry Bowman Sr. Dec. 4, 1961, in Denver. He preceded her in death Jan. 2, 1995. The couple lived in Colorado, Arizona and Wyoming.
Mrs. Bowman worked as a waitress for many years and most recently worked as a dispatcher for the Niobrara County Sheriff’s Office in Lusk.
She is survived by sons Thomas Bowman and wife Lorene of Sacramento, Calif., David Compton and wife Valerie of Logan, Utah, John Bowman Jr. and wife Shiela of Naples, Fla., and Luke Bowman of Farmington, N.M.; daughters Susan Kitzman and husband Dennis of Keenesburg, and Cheryle Wagner and husband Clifford of Anton; brothers Edwin Cole Jr. and wife Sharon of Hot Springs, Ark., and Robert Cole and wife Kelly of Lusk; sister Maxine Eutsler and husband Dick of Osage, Wyo.; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; brothers Michael, Peter, James, William and John Cole; and sisters Lourania “Lou” Preadmore, Dorothy Cole, and Eunice “Tiny” Schmidt.
Funeral services were held Monday. Interment will be 1:30 p.m. today at Lakeside Cemetery in Loveland, next to her husband.
DUDFIELD:
Marcia Ann Dudfield of Loveland. Graveside service for cremated remains 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
Marcia Ann Dudfield passed away Sept. 11, 2004, at the age of 57.
She lived in Loveland from 1974 until 2003, when she moved to Fort Collins. She was a devoted and wonderful mother and friend. She loved gardening, animals and sports.
She is survived by her daughter, Anne Dudfield; sister, Ruth Wright; brother, the Rev. James Hinkhouse; aunt, Lorrayne Livingston; many cousins; and cats, Smokey and Otis.
She always adopted animals that were in the most need of loving permanent homes.
Most recently, Marcia worked at Direct Energy, and in prior years, at Hach, Ion Tech and Colorado Memory Systems (HP). She also attended both the University of Colorado and Colorado State University before starting her family.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, at Resthaven Memory Gardens between Fort Collins and Loveland.

ELLIS:
John Clark Ellis of Loveland. Memorial service and military honors 2 p.m. Thursday, September 16 at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Private interment Grandview Cemetery.
John Clark Ellis, 82, of Loveland, died Sept. 9, 2004.
He was born Aug. 15, 1922, in Fort Collins, to Rolland Ellis and Addie Clark Ellis. He married Betty Hansen on Feb. 16, 1944, in Fort Collins.
He was a B-24 pilot with the 15th Air Force in Italy during World War II.
He worked for the Game and Fish Department, was manager of the Colorado State Forest Service Tree Nursery and was later assistant director of the Physical Plant at Colorado State University.
After retiring he and his wife lived in the Poudre Canyon for several years.
He was a member of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge No. 804. He was fond of fishing, hunting, arrowhead hunting, the mountains and gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Ellis of Loveland; two sons, J. Craig Ellis and wife Kristen of Loveland, and Gary Ellis and wife Linda of Well-ington; six granddaughters; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Craig, and a great-grandson, Clay.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel in Fort Collins. Stephen Foster will officiate. Military honors will be conducted by the Fort Collins All Veterans Honor Guard.
Private burial will be at Grandview Cemetery in Fort Collins.

HOFFMAN:
Marjorie Theresa Hoffman of Loveland. Memorial service 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 15 at Allnutt Funeral Service Chapel.
Marjorie Theresa Hoffman, 88, died Sept. 10, 2004, in Loveland.
She was born July 1, 1916, in Boulder, to Morace Mayo and Mary Margaret Mann Eberhart.
She lived in Loveland until 1977, then moved to Poudre Canyon in Fort Collins.
A graduate of Loveland High School and Colorado State College of Education in Greeley, now UNC, Marjorie received her bachelor’s degree in education. She then did her student teaching at Big Bend School near Gilcrest.
She married Orville D. Hoffman on May 20, 1938, in Loveland. She was a homemaker and also active in the Republican Party, was past president of the Toastmistress Club, an active 4-H leader, Extension Club member and a Scout leader.
Majorie enjoyed gardening and was an accomplished seamstress, writer, organist and loved music.
She is survived by her sons, Robert Hoffman and wife, Margery of Loveland, Dave Hoffman and wife, Lynette of Julian, Calif.; daughter Patricia Swisher and husband Lee of Loveland; brothers Charles Eberhart and wife Kay of Denver, Leo Eberhart and wife Shirley of Arvada, Dr. Glenn Eberhart and wife Adel of Aptos, Calif.; sisters Margaret Nickel of Galt, Calif., Jeanette Yarbrough and husband Jim of LaVergne, Tenn., Joan Morgan and husband, Bob of Galt, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two sisters, Levonne Eberhart and Dor-othy Keeler; and brother Donald Eberhart.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Allnutt Funeral Service Chapel in Loveland.

KALLSEN:
Roberta E. Kallsen, 85, of Loveland, died Sept. 6, 2004, at McKee Medical Center in Loveland.
She was born Jan. 30, 1919, in Cumberland, Wis., to Wulf Otto and Elsie Meta (Neuman) Hansen. She was raised and educated at Cumberland, where she graduated from high school. She married Raymond A. Kallsen on March 28, 1939, in Cumberland. He preceded her in death on June 29, 1994.
They moved to Burns, Wyo., and then to Grover, Colo. They lived at Grover from 1943 to 1964. In 1964 they moved to Loveland. She worked at Hewlett-Packard in Loveland for 18 years, before retiring.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Loveland, where she was active in Bible study. She also was very active in the AARP Loveland Chapter.
She is survived by a son, Ernie Kallsen of Greeley; a daughter, Janet Long of Colorado Springs; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Nyhus; and two brothers, August Hansen and William Hansen.
Friends may visit from 4 to 7 p.m. tonight at Adamson Memorial Downtown Chapel in Greeley.
Services will be 9:30 a.m. Friday, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1101 Hilltop Drive in Loveland.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Greeley.

KREUTZER:
Richard Brittain Kreutzer, 86, passed away peacefully on Sept. 6, 2004, in Green Valley, Ariz., from natural causes.
Richard was born to William Richard Kreutzer and Mary McIntosh Kreutzer in Gunnison, Colo., on Sept. 19, 1917. A longtime Coloradan, his family roots went back to the 1860s when his grandfather home-steaded in Jarre Canyon outside Se-dalia. The family moved to Fort Col-lins eventually and later made their home in Loveland, where he lived from 1973 to 1998.
He married Barbara (Byouk) Kreutzer in 1942 in Greeley. Barbara passed away in 1994. Richard married Pauline Birky-Kreutzer on June 5, 1998.
Richard lived a long and productive life which included the Forest Service, the military and teaching at the college level.
Richard obtained his college degree from Colorado A&M, later known as Colorado State University, in 1939, where he was a member of the Pacemakers. He was an Outstanding Educator of America in 1973 and was awarded a Distinguished Alumnus award from CSU in l989.
His original career began with the U.S. Forest Service in 1939 as he followed in the footsteps of his father, William Kreutzer, who was the first forest ranger in the United States commissioned by then-President Roosevelt. Richard’s Forest Service career was cut short when he entered World War II as a regular army field artillery officer. He made the army his career serving in three wars concluding his distinguished Army career in the mid-1960s. He served 281/2 years in the U.S. Army and rose to the rank of full colonel. Among his many awards were two Purple Hearts for wounds received, two Silver Stars for bravery under fire, and the Army’s Legion of Merit for his dedicated service.
He was active in Northern Colorado civic affairs during his retirement years serving on the Larimer County Council on Aging, and as a volunteer for the American Red Cross Disaster and VISTA teams. He was instrumental in assisting disaster victims in the aftermath of the 1976 Big Thompson Flood.
He was devoted to his wife Pauline Birky-Kreutzer, formerly of Fort Collins, now of Green Valley, Ariz. Pauline and Richard shared many years together, spending time at their Virginia Dale, Colo., house with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Kreutzer, two brothers, Edward and William Kreutzer and his sister, Mary (Kreutzer) Robertson.
He is survived by his loving wife, Pauline Birky-Kreutzer; daughter, Sue in Loveland; his sons, Richard (Cate) in Sierra Vista, Ariz., and Robert (Jennifer) in Wheat Ridge. He is survived by his grandchildren, Jonathan, Benjamin, Kevin, Michael, Andrew and Nicholas; his stepchildren, Ann and Mike Savageau and their children, Mark and Elisa of California, and Bill and Susan Birky of Arizona. In addition, the extended Kreutzer family throughout Colorado feels his loss where he has many nieces and nephews and their children.

MATHEWS:
Dessie D. Mathews, 87, of Loveland, died Sept. 3, 2004, in Loveland.
She was born April 8, 1917, in Marshall, Ark., to William Riley Burnett and Zip Ora Smith Burnett. She married George R. Mathews on Jan. 22, 1934, in Stilwell, Okla. He preceded her in death in May 1997.
They eventually moved their family to Colorado and lived in Eagle County, Littleton, Grand Junction and Loveland. Her last place of employment was in Eagle County, where she served as deputy treasurer.
During her life she held membership with the American Legion Auxiliary and Rebekah Lodge in Gypsum. She also attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Loveland.
She is survived by a daughter, Neeoma Lee Coston and husband Ted Coston of Loveland; two brothers, Leon Burnett of Stilwell, and Bud Burnett of Bloomberg, Texas; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by siblings, Tom Burnett, J.D. Burnett, Imogene Allen, Nell Burnett and Winnie Mathews.
Services will be 9 a.m. today, Sept. 9, 2004, at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6601 S. Colorado Blvd., Littleton.
Burial will be in Olinger Chapel Hill Cemetery.
NORRIS:
Steven LeRoy Norris III, 45, of Loveland died Sept. 9, 2004, in a local hospital.
He was born Dec. 24, 1958, in Baltimore, Md., to Jim and Ida Norris. He graduated from high school in Houston, Texas, in 1975 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy the same year. He served honorably for more than 10 years in both surface and submarine fleets.
Mr. Norris was a carpenter and maintenance man in the Fort Collins area for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra June (Billings) Norris of Carr; son Justin Michael Norris of Bonneau, S.C.; daughters Brandy Lynn and husband Michael Aiken of Goose Creek, S.C., Crystal Marie Norris and Sherry Leigh Norris; three grandchildren; his parents, of Apache Junction, Ariz.; brothers Jim Norris of Lebanon, Ill., John Norris of London, Ky., and Tom Norris of San Diego; and sister Linda Honick of Phoenix.
Viewing will be noon to 2 p.m. today, followed by a funeral service at John XXIII Catholic Church, the Rev. Don Willette officiating.
