Dean Vanden Berg, age 83, of Grand Rapids, went to be with his Lord on Friday, June 15, 2001. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Vanden Berg, baby daughter Sharon, brother Albert Vanden Berg and sister Florence Wierenga. He is survived by his wife, Alice Doezema Vanden Berg, sons Gary (Kathy) Vanden Berg of Florida, and their children Kirstin Johnson and Ben Vanden Berg, Craig Vanden Berg of Michigan, Wayne Vanden Berg of Colorado and his children Jason, Daniel, John and Ben Vanden Berg. He is also survived by Alice's children Donna (Scott) Lachniet of Muskegon and their children David and Andrea Lachniet, Douglas Doezema of Holland and his children Christopher (Kate) Doezema of Holland, his sisters Harriett (Howard) Roberts of Irons, Anne Crane of Napa, CA, and brother Lewis (Alice) Vanden Berg of Sonoma, CA.
Funeral services including committal will be held 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Zaagman Memorial Chapel, 2800 Burton St. S.E., Grand Rapids, MI, with the Rev. Scott E. Hoezee officiating. Interment Garfield Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral chapel 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday. Margaret L. "Peg" Walter of Loveland. Widow of Philip R. Walter. Cremation has been conducted. Private Inurnment of cremains at Loveland Burial Park.
Margaret L. "Peg" Walter, 89, of Loveland died June 15 at a local nursing home.
She was born May 16, 1912, in Newark, Mo. to Noah Henry Hofen and Mary Louise Lindsey Hofen.
She married Philip R. Walter June 14, 1932 in Berthoud.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Wednesday Book Club, Sorosis and a former member of the Philo Club.
She attended Mountain View Presbyterian Church in Loveland. She was active in the church and the community.
She was preceded in death by her husband Philip on April 15, 1984, and son Philip Eugene Walter on Sept. 9, 1959.
She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Millie Walter and Esther Walter Hurst, both of Denver, and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation has been conducted.
Private inurnment will be at Loveland Burial Park.
WHITTENBERG Jr.:
James E. Whittenberg Jr ., 41, of Salt Lake City, formerly of Loveland, died of melanoma June 8, 2001, at his home.
A funeral Mass and Rosary were celebrated in Salt Lake City.
Burial was in Resthaven Memory Gardens north of Loveland.
He was born March 18, 1960, in Austin, Texas, to James Sr. and June Whittenberg. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. for seven years, then worked as a financial consultant for Smith Barney for 13 years.
Mr. Whittenberg moved to Salt Lake City in 1998 for a career in the medical coding business.
He enjoyed golfing, skiing, taking trips to Las Vegas and playing with his kids.
Mr. Whittenberg is survived by his wife, Jennifer Whittenberg of Salt Lake City; their children, Kelsey, Lauren and Nicholas, all of Salt Lake City; his mother, June Whittenberg of Fort Collins; a brother, Gary Whittenberg and wife Jackie of Fort Collins; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Whittenberg Sr.

ANDERSON:
Orrin K. "Andy" Anderson, 86, of Loveland, died July 21, 2001, at a nursing home in Denver.
He was born Sept. 20, 1914, in Denver. He graduated from Manual High School and attended art school for two years. He was employed as a locksmith at the Denver Public Schools system for many years.
He joined the Naval Services and served in the SeaBees branch of the military for two years and four months.
He was very talented and liked to make all types of items from wood, leather, paper and anything handy. He was a musician and played the piano and organ. He was an avid fisherman and bowler and enjoyed all types of sports.
Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife, Helen M. Anderson of Loveland; a son, Kenny; stepson, Michael Sherva; three brothers, Robert and Calvin Anderson of Lakewood, and Richard Anderson of Sun City, Ariz.; several nieces and nephews.
Cremation has been conducted.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church in Loveland.
Burial will be in Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver at a later date.
BENNETT:
Inez Margaret Bennett, 93, of Loveland, died July 24, 2001.
She was born April 5, 1908, in Callender, Iowa, to John and Eureka Carlson Fredrickson. Her father came to America from Sweden in 1883, and her mother was born to Swedish immigrants.
She attended a one-room schoolhouse near Callender and graduated from Callender High School in 1925. She attended college for one year. She was called home to take care of her uncle, who was ill. She later graduated from Rockford School of Nursing in Rockford, Ill., in 1934.
She married and had three children.
She was a nurse in Lake City, Iowa, for more than 20 years and Des Moines, Iowa, for nine years. She received many awards.
She moved to Loveland in 1972 when she retired. She was active with her family and at Mount Olive Lutheran Church. She taught Sunday school, Bible studies, vacation Bible school and ladies' guild. She faithfully brought people to church who did not drive. She was devoted to her family.
She had been in failing health for 20 years and in a nursing home for much of that time. The past two years, she has been cared for in the Reynolds home in Estes Park by her daughter, Joyce, and son-in-law, Gary until recent months.
She enjoyed being around the old things she grew up with and being on the deck overlooking the mountain stream. She became an avid elk and deer watcher.
She is survived by a son, Calvin Bennett and wife Doris of Ridgecrest, Calif.; a daughter, Joyce Reynolds and husband Gary of Estes Park; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a niece, nephew and several grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Myrtle, in 1924, brothers Quintis in 1987 and Eloph in 1963, granddaughter Rochelle in 1971, and son Stephen in 1996.
Private family services will be held.
Resthaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
DAVID:

Donna P. David, 59, of Loveland, died July 29, 2001, at her home.
She was born Nov. 4, 1941, in Montour Falls, N.Y., to Donald B. and Caroline Potter Stephens. She married William J. David July 31, 1965, in De Witt, N.Y.
She was a former resident of Spring Valley Lake, Calif.
Mrs. David was a homemaker, mother and grandmother. She was an active member in her community and was always willing to help others. She was the chairperson of the SVL Spirit Committee. She enjoyed crafts, floral design, gardening and sharing special moments with her family.
She attended Faith Evangelical Covenant Church.
She is survived by her husband, William J. David, of Loveland; daughters Diana M. Birnbaum and husband Corey and Deborah A. Lakatos and husband Rob, all of Loveland; and grandchildren Logan and Megan Lakatos and Alyssa, Brooklyn and Blake Birnbaum, all of Loveland.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Viestenz-Smith Mountain Park. Chaplain Maria McLain Cox of Hospice of Larimer County will officiate. The family requests that casual attire be worn.
Cremation will take place.

Prentice E. Griffith, 81, of Loveland, died July 26, 2001, at McKee Medical Center in Loveland.
He was born Feb. 12, 1920, in Sidney, Neb., to Louie Eugene Griffith and Leola Elsie Withers Griffith.
He graduated from Peetz High School in Peetz, Colo., and the family moved to Loveland in 1939.
Mr. Griffith served in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1945.
He married K. Frances Haferkorn on June 23, 1946, in Loveland.
When he returned to Loveland from the Army, he began his career as a plumber with Chambers Plumbing and Heating, where he worked for 52 years until his retirement in 1997.
He was a member of the Loveland Elks BPOE No. 1051.
He was an avid bowler and enjoyed fishing, hunting and his yard and garden.
Most important to Mr. Griffith was his family.
He is survived by his wife, K. Frances Griffith of Loveland; a daughter, Eileen K. Jones of Loveland; a son, Rodney E. Griffith of Galesburg, Ill.; two brothers, Jack J. Griffith and wife Maxine of Loveland, and Clem Griffith of Iola, Kan.; two grandsons; two great-grandsons; six great-granddaughters; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Orvin L. Griffith; and a son-in-law, James Jones.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home, with Richard Sutton of the Church of Christ officiating. Viewing will be 1-5 p.m. Monday, 1-7 p.m. Tuesday and at services on Wednesday.
Burial will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens.

Susan M. Metcalf of Loveland died July 28 at McKee Medical Center. She was 48.
She was born May 30, 1953 in Chicago to Walter Fahnenstiel and Gertrude Rudenbaker Fahnenstiel.
She married Lee Metcalf on Feb. 4, 1969, in Westminster.
She moved to Loveland in 1980 from Minnesota.
She worked as a machine operator at Advanced Energy in Fort Collins.
She belonged to Resurrection Fellowship Church.
She enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping, music and working on computers.
She is survived by her husband, Lee Metcalf of Loveland; son Scott Alan Metcalf of Loveland; daughters Kim Ann Metcalf of Loveland and Christine Marie Hernandez and husband Billy of Loveland; brothers Richard Fahnenstiel and Robert Fahnenstiel, both of Loveland; mother Gertrude Fahnenstiel of Loveland; and grandchildren Tiana, Dametrious and Isaiah Hernandez of Loveland.
She was preceded in death by her father Walter Fahnenstiel.
Cremation has been conducted.

MORRISON:
Clifford E. "Cliff" Morrison, 48, of Johnstown, died July 29, 2001, at Boulder Community Hospital in Boulder.
He was born Oct. 6, 1952, in Akron, to Eugene and Virginia Etter Morrison. He married Janet Tresp on June 11, 1977, in Broomfield. He worked for two and a half years for Beach Aircraft and for IBM as a hardware planner for 23 years.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1971 to 1975.
Mr. Morrison moved to Longmont in the early 1960s and to Johnstown in 1984.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Johnstown. He was an avid fly fisherman and golfer, enjoyed football and supported his children in their activities.
Mr. Morrison is survived by his wife, Janet Morrison of Johnstown; two daughters, Amanda Morrison and Emily Morrison, both of Johnstown; parents, Eugene and Virginia Morrison of Loveland; a brother, Randy Morrison and wife Michelle of Longmont; a sister, Maryann Law of Red Feather Lakes; father-in-law, John Tresp of Texas; mother-in-law, Carolyn Gordy and husband Pete of British Columbia, Canada; two uncles and two aunts; a nephew, five nieces, a great-aunt and numerous cousins.
There will be no visitation.
Cremation will be conducted.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at LifeBridge Christian Church, 10345 Ute Highway, Longmont. The Rev. Marilyn Phelps, of the United Methodist Church of Johnstown, will officiate.

SANCHEZ:

Alexander Sanchez, 53, of Loveland, died July 21, 2001, at his home.
He was born July 9, 1948, in Alliance, Neb., to Esteban Rosales Sanchez and Macaria Mendez Sanchez Mart. He graduated from high school in Alliance.
He married Ruth Perez on Aug. 23, 1969, in Alliance.
Mr. Sanchez was employed by Burlington Northern Railroad for 15 years. Most recently, he was self-employed as a carpenter.
He enjoyed bowling and sharing time with his grandchildren.
Mr. Sanchez was a member of the Holy Rosary Parish in Alliance.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Perez of Alliance; a son, Jason Sanchez and wife Lynette of Loveland; his parents of Alliance; four brothers, Esteban Sanchez Jr., John Sanchez and wife Marjorie, Felipe Sanchez and wife Jayne, and Don Sanchez, all of Alliance; seven sisters, Monica Sanchez and Stephanie Sanchez of Alliance, Gloria Vallejo and husband Rafael of Garland, Texas, Rose Vasquez and husband Don of Alliance, Juanita Sanchez of Milford, Neb., Frances Ogle and husband Terry of Lead, S.D., and Debbie May Sanchez of Alliance; and three grandchildren.
