Jeralyn Virginia Harris

April 20, 1930 - June 18, 2007

Jeralyn Virginia Harris, 77, formerly of Denver, died June 18, 2007.

She was born April 20, 1930 in Del Norte, Colorado to Howard and Anne Marie (Bingel) Brooks.

She graduated from Presbyterian/ D.U. School of Nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse in the Denver area.

Jeralyn married Dwight Harris August 5, 1952.

Survivors include two daughters, Sherrie (Quigley) Harris and Cindy Gold and husband Dennis, three grandchildren, Christi (Schwindt) Coslett and husband Ryan, Matthew McLellan, and Julie McLellan.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to HospiceCare of Boulder and Broomfield Counties and sent to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.

Juliette Hall

April 11, 1912 - June 11, 2007

Juliette Hall, 95, died June 11, 2007 at Life Care Center of Longmont.

She was born April 11, 1912 in Valley City, ND to Julius and Oliane Oppegaard.

She graduated with a B.A. in Business from North Dakota State University.

In 1942 she married Karl W. Hall of Boulder (deceased in 1987).

Juliette was employed as an accountant for Boulder Public Schools, was an artist in watercolor and oil and tin sculpting, and belonged to Mount Calvary Lutheran Church.

She was also preceded in death by son-in-law Bill Affleck.

She is survived by her son Gregory D. Hall and wife Takako of Longmont; one daughter Julie K. Affleck of Broomfield; four grandchildren Matthew Hall, Erika Scheels, Tamara Williams, and Stephen Affleck; five great-grandchildren.

Memorial service Friday June 15, 2007 at 10:30 AM Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, with Pastor Kevin Meyer presiding. Cremation at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to HospiceCare of Boulder and Broomfield Counties.

Karen E. Swift

February 4, 1947 - June 10, 2007

Karen E. Swift, 60, of Longmont, Colorado passed away June 10, 2007.

She was born February 4, 1947 in Montrose, Colorado to Russell and Louise (Williams) Kettle.

Karen graduated from Montrose High School in 1965.

She married Henry H. Swift on December 10, 1965 in Montrose.

The family moved to Longmont in 1978.

She was a homemaker and mother. Karen was Past President of the BPO Elks #1055 Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed bowling and golf.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband Hank of Longmont; two daughters, Melissa Swift-Sawyer and her husband Patrick of Westminster, CO and TerriKaye Trippensee and her husband Mark of Longmont; a brother, Dan Kettle and his wife Cindy of Superior, Colorado; a sister, Linda Donahue and her husband David of Erie, Colorado; 6 grandchildren, Donovan and Hannah Kerns, Ian and Abigail Sawyer, Andrew and Benjamin Trippensee and nieces and nephew, Danielle Minor and husband Jack, Sarah Berant and husband Joe and Russell and Audrey Kettle.

Visitation 9 AM to 10 AM Friday before service, Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Friday June 15, 2007 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Interment at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery. Reception at Longmont Elks Lodge following interment. Memorial contributions may be made to The Genesis Program and sent to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.

Jun 27 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Rev. Hernan Florez celebrant. Interment Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.

Marie Louise Callaghan Clausen

October 16, 1948 - June 12, 2007

Our precious Mother and Grandmother, Marie Louise Callaghan Clausen entered eternal life on Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at the age of 58, after a heroic battle with cancer. She was born on October 16, 1948 in Troy, New York. She moved to Niwot in January 1986 and had been a resident of the Niwot/Longmont area since then. Marie was a life-long teacher and counselor. She taught and counseled in venues from homebound teaching to public and parochial schools to community college. Being with students was her passion. Her personable, hands-on approach to teaching is cherished by the students whose lives she touched. Marie is welcomed into Heaven by her son, Andrew Peter Clausen, and her granddaughter, Audrey Elizabeth Crall. Those who remain include Milton Clausen, her children and their spouses, Jeanne Marie and Brett Crall, Jacqui and Shawn Richart, Carl and Barb Clausen, Matthew Clausen, David Clausen and Marianne Clausen, and her grandchildren, Tyler, Elise and Grace Crall and Conner, Sage and Zoë Richart. We invite you to join us in remembering and celebrating Marie’s life with a Rosary Vigil followed by personal reflections on Thursday, June 21, at 6pm and a Funeral Mass followed by a potluck reception on Friday, June 22 at 10am, both at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Longmont. Milford William Beldt

November 20, 1917 - June 4, 2007

Milford William Beldt died June 4, 2007 at Life Care Center in Longmont, Colorado. He was 89 years old. He was born November 20, 1917 on the family farm near Matlock, Iowa to Fred August Beldt and Albena Katherine (Walgenbach) Beldt.

He enlisted in the Army on May 20, 1941. He served under Gen. Dwight Eisenhower at Allied Headquarters during the invasion of Algiers, North Africa, where he was shot and captured by German forces near Si Bou Zid (Faid Pass) in Tunisia on February 17, 1943. He was a POW until April 15, 1945, when he was liberated by American & Russian Forces at Darsekaut, Germany. He received a Purple Heart, 2 Bronze Stars, and 2 POW Good Conduct medals for his actions during WWII.

He married Maxine Loretta Shepard on November 20, 1947, in Des Moines, Iowa. They lived in Sheldon, Iowa, then in Marysville Kansas before moving to Longmont in March, 1955. He had Studebaker dealerships in Marysville and Longmont.

He was a deeply devoted family man, always placing his family’s needs first. His most joyous memories revolved around his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Maxine; 4 daughters, Joann of Longmont, Phyllis and her husband Dale Marttila of Milliken, Kathleen and her husband Les Adams of Loveland, and Rosemary and her husband Ron Harber of Loveland; 2 sons, Richard and his wife Shirley of Lakewood, and Joseph of Longmont; and by his brother, Harold Beldt, of Sheldon, Iowa, and his aunt, Alida Walgenbach of Hospers, Iowa.

In addition, he is survived by his 8 grandchildren, Mark, Gwen, Katie, Tina, Chad, Tammy, Marilyn, and Anthony; 3 great-grandchildren, Nathan, Dylan, and Melissa; and numerous step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by a son, James, and a daughter, Elaine, in addition to his parents, 2 sisters and 3 brothers.

Mr. Beldt enjoyed a lifelong love affair with Studebakers. He was a longtime member of the Conestoga Chapter of the Studebaker Drivers Club, and enjoyed selling Studebaker parts and doing mechanical work.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Disabled American Veterans, American Ex-POWs, and the Studebaker Drivers Club.

Visitation will be 5-8 PM with a vigil and rosary at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel on Thursday, June 7th, at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Longmont on Friday, June 8th, at 1:30 p.m. Reception at the American Legion will follow interment at Mountain View Cemetery.

Contributions may be made to the American Ex-POWs in care of Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.

Richard 'Dick' Ripple

April 3, 1927 - June 15, 2007

Richard “Dick” Ripple passed away Friday June 15, 2007 at his home in Longmont. He was 80.

He was born April 3, 1927 in Wichita Kansas to Frank L. and Alma Helene (Mansker) Ripple.

He graduated from East High School in Wichita in 1944. He joined the Navy in 1944 until 1946, where he was a corpsmen stationed in Bremerton, Washington. He attended Wichita State where he received a degree in botany and zoology. Later he attended CU where he graduated in 1956 with a degree in pharmacy and then worked for Walgreen’s.

He married Barbara McLane on September 10, 1956 in Boulder, CO. He then moved to Illinois and Iowa before settling in Longmont.

He owned Plaza Pharmacy in Clinton, IA and then moved his family to Longmont in 1972. He worked at Longmont United Hospital, King Soopers, and Wal-mart before retiring from the Medicine Shoppe in 2004.

He was a member of the APhA and loved hiking, skiing, fishing, and the outdoors of Colorado.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Ripple of Longmont; two daughters Cathy Castillo, Sue Ripple and her partner Sina Pierret both of Longmont; 4 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Cremation at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. Memorial contributions may be sent to the National Kidney Foundation or the Humane Society.

Shirley June Rader

October 20, 1918 - June 5, 2007

Shirley June Rader of Longmont passed away Tuesday June 5, 2007 she was 88.

She was born October 20, 1918 in Corning, California to Herbert A. and Lucy (Hood) Symonds. She graduated from the American Boarding School in Shanghai, China in 1937, and from the Merritt School of Nursing in Oakland, CA in 1940.

She married Ralph F. Rader on May 30, 1940 in Oakland. She moved to Longmont in September, 2003 from Southern California.

She was a registered nurse at Corning Memorial Hospital for 17 years until she retired in 1983.

She was a member of Corning First Baptist Church, where she was also the organist from 1963 until 1990. She loved to read, learn, watch gardening shows, and play word games. She will be remembered for her love of the lord and as a devoted mother.

She is preceded in death by her husband Ralph F. Rader in 1966 and one son Gary Rader in 1948.

She is survived by one son Jerry Rader and his wife Kathy of San Jose, CA; two daughters Holly and her husband Bob Hiller of Winchester, VA, and Wendy and her husband Jack Elliott of Longmont, CO; 7 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held June 23, 2007 at Life Care Center of Longmont at 4:00 PM with the Rev. Tim Johnson presiding. Services in Corning California at Corning First Baptist Church July 10, 2007 at 6 PM. Cremation at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. Memorial contributions may be made to Breast Cancer Research.

Sterling T. 'S.T.' Rogers

June 13, 2007

ROGERS, Sterling T. (S.T.) 98 of Longmont passed away June 13, 2007 in Louisville at HospiceCare Center. Survived by his wife Marie and daughter Louise and husband Billy Sheats of Longmont. No local services to be held. Funeral service and interment will be in Lubbock, Texas Wednesday June 20, 2007 at Resthaven Funeral Home of Lubbock, Texas. Contributions can be made to Boulder County Hospice or Longmont Meals on Wheels and sent in care of Resthaven Funeral Home 5740 W. 19th Lubbock, Texas 79416. Twyla Lavonne Branstetter Eldridge

July 21, 1933 - January 30, 2005

Twyla Lavonne Branstetter Eldridge went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 30, 2005, at Longmont United Hospital in Longmont, CO, after a short illness.

Twyla was born to Benjamin Franklin Branstetter and Laura Grace Wayman Branstetter on July 21, 1933, in Cherokee, IA. Her family moved to Midwest, WY, when Twyla was 8 years old. She attended public schools in Midwest, Wyoming and married Robert Dean Eldridge on March 24, 1949, at the Edgerton Open Bible Church. Twyla and Bob were long-term, active members of the Open Bible Church in Edgerton and Casper. She served as Sunday School Superintendent and, later, led the Prime Timers. Twyla and Bob lived in Midwest until 1991 when they moved to Casper and made their home at Skyline Towers. In 2004, they moved to Longmont, CO.

Twyla’s love for life included her family, cooking, hosting parties, and making friends with everyone. A song was always on Twyla’s heart and mind. She could often be heard singing one of her favorite songs around the house and any word could remind her of a song. For many years, Twyla owned and managed Twyla’s Drug Store in Edgerton, Wyoming. She served as Midwest’s Mayor for one term and then Vice President of the local bank. After retirement, Bob and Twyla traveled the United States. For many years, they spent winters in Brownsville, TX.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Eldridge of Longmont, CO; her children, Robert Eldridge, Jr. (Debbie) of Benson, AZ, Jeanne Ehlert (Ken) of Brownsville, TX, and Julie Wilson (Rodger) of Longmont, CO; six grandchildren, Sean Ehlert of Los Angeles, CA, Rodger Wilson of Keenesburg, CO, Sheresa Eldridge Pompay of Phoenix, AZ, Caterina Wilson of Logan, UT, Stephanie Ehlert of Pittsburg, PA, and Chris Ehlert, of Brownsville, TX, and two great-grandchildren. Twyla has three sisters, Sally Slates of Casper, WY, Peggy Bailey of Broomfield, CO, and Sandra DeRoche of Ft. Morgan, CO.

Memorial services will be held in Casper at a the Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery on Friday, March 11, 2005. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Central Wyoming Rescue Mission, PO Box 3212, Casper, WY 82602.

Joanie Michelle Smith

July 15, 1962 - June 13, 2007

Joanie Michelle Smith, 44, of Longmont, died June 13, 2007 at her home.

She was born July 15, 1962 in San Francisco, and raised in San Jose, California by her parents Ralph and Carrie (Stroud) Barney.

Joanie graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1980 and then continued her education at San Jose College to get her ERMT.

She married Timothy R. Smith on November 28, 1987 in the Oakland temple, California.

Joanie was an Emergency Room Trauma Technician, a homemaker and mother.

She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Joanie enjoyed working with the youth and was very active in Boy Scouts of America and other youth groups. She also enjoyed woodworking, fishing, boating, and sports. She was a wonderful story teller and many times left those listening with tears from laughing so hard. Though she has struggled the last few years with her health, she enjoyed having her family and friends around her and having their support.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Survivors include her husband Timothy of Longmont; three sons, Marc, Steven and Brandon Smith; her mother of St. George, Utah and a brother, Clay Barney of Minnesota.

Visitation 12-1 PM and Funeral Service 1:30 PM Tuesday, June 19 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1721 Red Cloud Rd. in Longmont. Interment at Delta Cemetery in Delta, Utah. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Boy Scouts of America and sent to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
