Joan L. Barton of Denver, a homemaker, died Wednesday in Denver. She was 55.

Mass will be said at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 770 S. Federal Blvd. There will be cremation.

She was born on June 25, 1944, in Trinidad. On May 18, 1974, she married Patrick Barton.

She was a member of the 19th Hole Club. Her interests included golf and hiking.

She is survived by her husband; and two sons, Matthew P., and Brian T., both of Denver.

E.C. "Eddie'' Abbott of Lakewood, a manufacturer's rep, died Sept. 8. He was 67.

Graveside services were Monday at Fort Logan National Cemetery. He was born March 31, 1932, in Salida. On June 12, 1954, he married Marilynn M. Fisher, in Denver.

He served in the Marines during the Korean War. He was a manufacturer's representative in the auto parts industry. He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Kim, Fort Collins, and Tamara, Arvada; a brother, Bud, Northglenn; and three grandchildren.

Zdzislaw Szwebel

Theater manager, 90

Zdzislaw Szwebel of Thornton, a theater manager, died April 12. He was 90.

Services were April 17 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. There was cremation.

He was born Dec. 17, 1909, in Stanislawow, Poland. He married Bronislawa Lukaszewska. He attended the College of Economics in Lvov, Poland.

He was a corporal in the Polish army during World War II.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Leon, Thornton, and Marek, Winter Park; and two grandchildren.

Cashier, 78

Jean Elva Zimmer of Evergreen, a cashier, died Aug. 18 in Evergreen. She was 78.

Services were Aug. 21 at St. Paul's Community Church. Interment was in Crown Hill Cemetery.

She was born July 10, 1921, in Greeley.

She is survived by a daughter, Sherry Robinson, Albuquerque; a son, Ron, Golden; and three grandchildren.

Larrie Jan Zimmerman of Englewood, a retired chef, died Sept. 4 in Denver. He was 65.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd.

He was born April 23, 1934, in Johnstown, Pa. He served in the Air Force.

He is survived by three daughters, Shannon, Englewood, Shirli McBurney, Naples, Fla., and Ellen Chavez, Parker; a son, Doug; a brother, Lionel, South America; and six grandchildren.

Vanita R. Zimmerman of Aurora, a stockbroker, died Wednesday. She was 70.

A service will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Burns Memorial United Methodist Church, 1095 Newark, Aurora. Interment will be in Fort Logan National Cemetery.

She was born Jan. 27, 1930, in Anna, Ill. On Oct. 14, 1950, she married Bruce W. Zimmerman in Atlanta.

She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Sherry Cohen, Henderson, Nev., and Mona Semmer, Aurora; a son, Bruce Jr., Parker; her mother, Ruth Keith, Denver; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services were Oct. 23 at Bohlender Funeral Chapel, Fort Collins. There was cremation.

He was born Feb. 21, 1972, in Washington, D.C. He graduated from Ponderosa High School in Parker and Colorado State University. On May 23, 1998, he married Ann Marie Livingston in Fort Collins.

His interests included fishing, hunting, bicycling, fixing cars, skiing and outdoor activities.

He is survived by his wife; his parents, Clark and Elizabeth, Parker; a grandmother, Helen Hauser, Harrisburg, Pa.; a brother, Carl, Parker; and a sister, Andrea, Boston.

His interests included fishing and wood crafting.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Cathy Frase, Commerce City; three sons, Ron Jr., Avoca, Iowa, Tim, Watkins, and Vance, Commerce City; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Alyce Belle Ziegler of Fruita, a homemaker, died Thursday at Family Health Nursing Home. She was 70.

Services were Saturday at McLean Funeral Home in Fruita. Interment was in St. Michael's Cemetery in Collyer, Kan.

She was born Alyce Belle Hockman on May 24, 1930, in WaKeeney, Kan. On July 18, 1949, she married Martin V. Ziegler. He preceded her in death.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Church. Her interests included needlepoint, crafts and crossword puzzles.

She is survived by three sons, Donald, Fruita, Martin, Stafford, Kan., and Jeff, Denver; three daughters, Monica Munroe, Arvada, Joni, Livermore, Calif., and Jodi Speegel, Arvada; three brothers, Dennis Hockman, Grand Junction, Lewis Hockman, Rockledge, Fla., and Bill Hockman, Tyler, Texas; three sisters, Ardith Gerdsen, Fruita, Joyce Linna, St. Petersburg, Fla., and Ada Hockman, Highland, Calif.; and nine grandchildren.

She was a retired office manager of the savings bond division of the U.S. Treasury. She was also a secretary for King Soopers.

Her interests included bingo.

She is survived two sisters, Esther, and Irma Cuneo, both of Wheat Ridge.

Her interests included sewing and quilting.

She is survived by a sister, Irma Cuneo, Wheat Ridge.

She owned MBZ Artistry, a business featuring her art. She attended the University of Northern Colorado with plans of becoming a physician.

Her interests included art, music, travel, pencil and charcoal drawing, water skiing, boating, ice fishing and riding on snowmobiles.

She is survived by her husband; her parents, Dale and Karen, Brighton; a brother, Paul, Brighton; a sister, Heidi, Brighton; and her grandparents, Emy Niska Nelson and Gen and Larry Beier.
